### 2/5 — Reason For Use Is Gone

*2023-01-02, version 3.3.163*

I agree with many of the reviews about the recent update. Many MN courses are not in the app and need to be added manually including the slope and rating. That can no longer be done. This makes the app of no use to me. Also, the app should have hole by hole score to auto calculate an accurate handicap as not all users know to subtract strokes over net double by hole.

### 3/5 — Jack

*2022-12-27, version 3.3.163*

Your whole format is changed and I’m trying to put in my round of golf today at a golf course that I mostly play 90% of the time. It will not let me put in Makani golf club. So right now you’re app is useless to me unless you can help me.

### 3/5 — New version not good

*2022-11-15, version 3.3.163*

The new version does not allow me to adjust the slope of the course when submitting my scores. Many of the slopes are in accurate for the North Carolina golf courses that I play. I’ve started looking at other handicap programs.

### 2/5 — Poor Update

*2022-11-12, version 3.3.163*

I’ve been using the app since 2014 as my sole source of golf handicap. The latest update doesn’t allow you to put in slope and rating as my home course has been updated in August. You can’t see course ratings or slope anymore. It also has showed my last five scores as verified. It also doesn’t allow you to search or input courses that have been played in other countries. Very disappointed.

### 4/5 — Easy But Confusing

*2022-11-09, version 3.3.163*

Easy to enter scores but changes are never explained. The latest change makes the handicap calculation totally indecipherable.

### 2/5 — Changes make it almost unusable

*2022-10-26, version 3.3.159*

They changed the Diablo app so that you can no longer see the slope and course ratings. Diablo’s database of this course info has historically been very inaccurate and the app allowed you to correct it. With the most recent app changes, you cannot see what values Diablo used and you cannot input the correct parameters. The app is now virtually unusable to get an accurate handicap index

### 4/5 — Great golf handicap app

*2022-10-26, version 3.3.159*

So far, so good. I like to play different courses and this app allows me to tract my handicap based on individual courses without being a member at one specific course/club

### 2/5 — App Update Not Great

*2022-10-25, version 3.3.159*

The recent app update made the app worse. View of rounds played with their respective index is no longer available - missing index for each round. Handicap calculator seems to be incorrect and jumped the previous calc by almost double- looks to be using all 20 of last 20 rounds vs best 8 or 10 of last 20. Not good.

### 1/5 — Diablo’s Latest Update is OB

*2022-10-19, version 3.3.159*

I’ve used Diablo golf for the past 4 years or so an carded almost 200 rounds in it. I have recommended it to all of my golf buds and it was an elite app. Then they updated it within the last week and literally turned it into a useless brick. I’ve already found a replacement app sadly. Here is why I switched. The app no longer correctly calculates handicaps. It is counting all 20 of your most recent scores. It also no longer displays your differentials for your rounds as it previously did. The last and most annoying change, which differentiated it from EVERY other app was the ability to manually adjust the slope and rating of a course. If you’ve played as much as I have you know that the slope and rating on the card doesn’t always match what’s in the app. This was a great feature that allowed you to make those changes. I’ve reached out to Diablo and they never responded so as I mentioned above, I have been forced to move on. RIP Diablo, you used to be the best.

### 1/5 — Changes are wrong

*2022-10-13, version 3.3.159*

Recent changes were made that appear to result in inaccurate handicaps. They’ve also reduced the amount of information shown on each score so you can no longer see the course rating and slope used for each score. The differential for each score is wrong. The number of rounds used in the handicap calculation is also not in compliance with the USGA. I would stay away from this for now.

### 1/5 — New Update

*2022-10-10, version 3.3.159*

I HATE the new update. It’s complicated / glitchy to use. It doesn’t allow me to edit slope / course rating. It also changed my actual handicap and raised it from a 9.6 to a 13.2. All of my current rounds are still being tracked.

I don’t care about using an electronic score card or using my phone for gambling.

### 1/5 — No rating or slope anymore? Terrible!

*2022-10-08, version 3.3.159*

This new version is useless without rating or slope. A lot of courses change their tee markers (black to I or white to II) and courses change their layouts. If there’s no way for us to check the slope or rating we can’t know if we’re accurately updating our handicaps. Roll back to the old version ASAP or watch your user base decline. I’m switching to a competitor if this isn’t addressed.

### 1/5 — App error

*2022-10-06, version 3.3.159*

It looks like the new update has an error. It’s calculating all 20 scores into the handicap instead of using the lowest 10 out the last 20 rounds played. It is showing a higher handicap versus what my other golf apps are showing.

Also, is there a way for you all to update the handicap immediately after each round instead of the 1st and 15th of the month??Other apps are updating to the new standard where the handicap instantly updates after finish of round.

### 2/5 — Are version updates current?

*2021-08-06, version 3.2.6*

Is seems the last update was >3 years ago. My deep question is whether not this app is still supported?

Attempting to contact support to let them know that a course was closed permanently results in an email message which is unable to be sent. The send arrow is grayed out. Sending a concern direct would be so much better than having to place the question in a review.

I’m looking forward to getting my five rounds in and tallied but if the app is dead, what’s the point?

It took my last two rounds and populated the course information automatically. However, posting a profile photo, using location services to locate the course via GPS, and most importantly the contact support function is inoperable leading one to believe the app is running on autopilot with no one tending to issues.

I’ll be looking for something active, current and at a reasonable price. I’m not adverse to paying for an app that works.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Diablo App went from the best to the worse app

*2023-01-19, version 3.3.163*

I use the iPhone version and I loved the app but the update gives a significantly different handicap than the website. When I go on the web site my handicap is correct but using the app it shows my handicap over three points higher. I don’t understand why. I know the web site is correct because it corresponds to my official USGA entry. I hope they fix it.

### 1/5 — Great app until the “updated” it

*2023-01-12, version 3.3.163*

This was a fantastic app for many years. I recommended it to everyone, easy to use, easy to adjust the slope/railing if needed. Updated handicap every couple of weeks. All around awesome, until… the last update. Now my handicap is t displaying correctly, the display is ugly and not user friendly, you can no longer manually adjust the scope/rating when needed. I emailed the company a couple of times and never received a response. There is no information on their site. I’m search of a new app, very unfortunate.

### 1/5 — WAS a great app

*2022-12-06, version 3.3.163*

Started out as great free app to track hcp, but recent updates have made it not.
All prior indexes have been removed and new rounds incorrectly calculated. No response from support dropped rating to 1 star and that’s only because over all hcp is still in the ballpark (for now). A buddy’s 82 on a round posted as a -4.5 (yes negative), my 87 was a 4? If they ever decide to fix it I might start using it again, but leery of results

### 1/5 — Calculations very broken on recent update

*2022-12-03, version 3.3.163*

This thing is jacked now. Handicap is not correct. It used to be a slightly inaccurate tracker but close enough to official usga tracker, now it’s just fully wrong!! They said they stopped supporting it years ago, and then a month ago they made an update all of a sudden and completely broke it!!! Why???

### 1/5 — Issues with calculating

*2022-11-11, version 3.3.163*

I I have use Diablo since it was created. The site was revamped about a month ago and something changed with the algorithms. Handicaps jumped significantly starting with the October 1 revision. I reached out to customer support and never got a response. Looking online, a lot of other people are having the same issues. since that change a month ago there have been three handicap updates and my index has not moved at all. It makes no sense.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t accurately calculate handicap

*2022-11-03, version 3.3.163*

As has been true for some time, Diablo Golf doesn’t accurately calculate handicaps. Until recently they were using the old outdated USGA system that changed a couple years back. Most recent update is using the 20 most recent differentials to calculate my handicap, instead of the lowest eight of the 20 most recent differentials, which is what the USGA stipulates. Should be an easy fix. Hope they make the change so handicaps can conform to the USGA handicap system.

### 1/5 — Update completely ruined Diablo

*2022-10-30, version 3.3.163*

Will have to find a different service. Update materially changed my handicap by 5 solely due to the update. New version won’t allow manual Slope and Rating enter. Searching for courses was never great, now worse. Latest score calculating diff over 3 times lower than calculated by hand.

So sad! Been using it for 6 years. Will be deleting, good luck Dev team!

### 1/5 — Might as well have discontinued the app

*2022-10-27, version 3.3.159*

Used this app with no issues for 3+ years. New “update” is a poopfest. The old UX/UI wasn’t anything special but looks state of the art compared to now. Even at the most basic level, it doesn’t calculate handicap correctly anymore 😂😂. I could build a better “app” myself in like 15 minutes just putting formulas in a google sheet and tracking there. At least it would calculate correctly. What a joke🤡

### 1/5 — Latest update has rendered app useless

*2022-10-22, version 3.3.159*

I’ll echo the disappointment with the reviews of the post October update! My index went from 6.8 to 4.1 with no scores posted for 3 weeks! Now it does not calculate the differential between the posted score and the rating of the tee box I use. It was a great tool for tracking index/handicap for the last 4 years I’ve been using it. I sent a message to support through the website link and no acknowledgment of receiving or that they’re aware of the problem. Hope they fix it, but in the mean time I’ll track my scores manually.

### 1/5 — Terrible changes

*2022-10-22, version 3.3.159*

Last update brought horrible changes. Scores no longer show the slope and rating of each course at the time of the score. No way of knowing f the software is up to date. Differential appears to be based on the handicap the user states rather than a true calculated one. Have written twice about all this but no reply.

### 5/5 — iPad

*2022-10-21, version 3.3.159*

Diablo old version would reorient to fit my iPad screen when I would turn it in any direction. This new version doesn’t. Thanks for listening.

### 5/5 — Manually inputting golf course

*2022-10-09, version 3.3.159*

With the updated version where can we manually input a course that is not in the system.

### 5/5 — Diablo Golf

*2022-08-27, version 3.2.6*

Thank you Diablo for having this app to help all of us non tournament and for those who do play competition wise for allowing us to have the opportunity to have a benchmark against others in friendly competition and to truly see how bad we really are (LOL)!

### 5/5 — Best I’ve tried short of USGA

*2022-07-29, version 3.2.6*

I love the app the only thing and it’s minor is having to review a course when playing it for the first time.

### 5/5 — Really Good Handicap App

*2022-07-07, version 3.2.6*

I just started using this app and it is awesome. This app can do almost every thing the other golf handicap apps can do and this one is free. I definitely recommend you give this app a try because it is very much worth it.

### 5/5 — Amazing App - Thank you

*2022-06-06, version 3.2.6*

Great app that allows any golfer to know their true handicap without having to pay a fee. I was going around in circles trying to figure out a way to get a handicap that was accurate, and this free app is the one to use. All that’s required is to leave a review for the course you played, which is a win for all parties.

### 5/5 — Best Handicap App

*2020-02-26, version 3.2.6*

I like to play a variety of golf courses and don’t have an official home course. If you’re an avid golfer but don’t have a home course, this is a great tool to track your handicap. It has every course I’ve golfed. The app is as good as the USGA software at golf courses.

### 5/5 — Sweet Handicap Tool

*2019-07-08, version 3.2.6*

Diablo Golf has a great interface. The catalog of courses is exhaustive. Even if you only play a few times a year keep your scores. It’s fun to look back at your history.

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2019-06-16, version 3.2.6*

Great app. Easy to use, calculates twice a month and gives you an index handicap. Other useful tools like maps, hot links to course website etc. you should check it out.

### 5/5 — Love It

*2018-06-26, version 3.2.6*

Always wanted to know my handicap but didn’t want to join a club. I’m a duffer. This is so easy and now I can compete with my son-in-law without him having to give me strokes. It feels a lot better to be beaten by a couple of strokes instead of 10 or 15. I tell everyone I know they need to get on board!
