## What is DiaMath (Diamond Math)?

DiaMath (Diamond Math) is a fun and challenging way to improve your problem solving skills. The principle of DiaMath is to solve for the two empty spaces in the diamond. The rule for a diamond patterns is: Add the left and right numbers together to get the bottom number (sum); multiply the left and right numbers together to get the top number (product). Knowing the rule is only the first step. You will find yourself asking questions along the way like what two numbers multiply together to get x but add together to get y? Though the basis of DiaMath is addition and multiplication it will also test your subtraction and division abilities.

DiaMath is configurable to quiz you with 10, 20 or 30 problems. All the problems are generated by the iPhone and randomized so there is a virtual unlimited set of possibilities. DiaMath provides three different levels of difficulty as well as allowing you to choose a range of numbers from 1 to 99. Additionally, DiaMath has a timer thus allowing you the opportunity to see if you can improve on a previous time, or even challenge a friend to a "quiz-off". DiaMath will help any student improve their problem solving skills and is a great first step towards learning algebra. For those of us past algebra, it is a great tool to help exercise your brain.

--------------------------------------------
ALGEBRA students… Diamath will help you practice factoring quadratic equations. Set difficulty mode set to hard and the thought process you use to find the left and right side of the diamond (when you’re given the top and bottom), is the same one you use to factor. For example, to factor x^2 – 7x – 18, you have to ask yourself: what two numbers multiply to -18 (which would be on the top of the diamond) but add to -7 (the bottom of the diamond)? The answer: -9 and 2.
The factored form of x^2 – 7x – 18 is (x – 9)(x + 2). In standard form, ax^2 + bx + c (when a = 1), the c coefficient is on the top of the diamond while the b is on the bottom.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2024-10-21*

This app is great for kids who need help with times tables and it’s fun I like how you can go back and review the answers you got wrong definitely 10/10

### 3/5 — Not appropriate to use within a classroom setting

*2012-04-28*

This app is decent in that it challenges users in problem solving and critical thinking. However, the app is very simple and does not provide anything that a textbook cannot. The app also has advertisements attached that would not be appropriate in a classroom setting. One thing that might make this app more useful would be to have different levels in which the user progresses through. If a user were to get incentives for finishing a level or completing a level within a certain time frame, the user may be more inclined to buy/use the app. Overall, it is an alright app appropriate for grades three and four, but no higher.

### 1/5 — I didn't pay full price to see ads

*2010-11-22*

Come on guys... Why the heck are there ads??? What a bunch of crap. If it was free I could understand. Get rid of them NOW

### 1/5 — Ads on paid app*** grrr$&@{^}+

*2010-09-02*

What a rip! Please make this app not lame by having ads. Otherwise it is basic but decent.

### 1/5 — Rip-off

*2010-05-28*

This app is bogus - it always counts my score as zero even when I answer correctly

### 5/5 — This app is really fun!

*2010-03-10*

I love this app, I can't tell you how great it is to challenge yourself in math, when you've had problems with math in the past. Thank you for this app.

### 4/5 — A nice and simple challenge

*2009-10-14*

I like the simplicity of this puzzle. It's a nice challenge of addiction, multiplication and division all at the same time. It's good for passing the time while you're on the bus.

The graphics are nice and I've not found any faults at all. I especially like how the button swings when you move your phone -a nice little touch.

I would like to see some kind of scoring system, for example the time taken and extra seconds added on for incorrect answers. Then they could add a score board which would make the game much more addictive.

Finally I think this game might prove more popular with a different name as the current name makes maths sound diar.

Overall it's a nice job and worth downloading if you like these types of challenges.

### 5/5 — Wonderful Game

*2008-12-28*

What I like best about this game is the ability to choose the range of numbers.

I pretty much only play in Hard mode, but with a range of 0 to 12, it was a good game for my 9 year old. Turn it up to -15 to 15 and my high schooler and college student were challeged. Ramp it up to -25 to 25 and it was a great workout for me.

It even lets you redo the ones you miss.

Very nice, simple game.

### 5/5 — Fun, challenging and educational!

*2008-12-04*

I'm a 6th grade math teacher and this is a fantastic game. Great way to introduce pre-algebra skills and maintain math facts! Love it, I'll be showing this to my students tomorrow.

### 5/5 — A new twist to...

*2008-11-29*

This certainly will keep all ages entertained and thinking. Great App!
