## What is DiCap?

Digients Capture is a professional tool for collectors generating training data for embodied AI / robotic foundation models. Used with a head-mounted phone harness, it records first-person video of real workplace tasks.

Key features:
• High-quality video: 1080p / 30fps / HEVC hardware encoding
• Synchronized motion data: 100Hz accelerometer + gyroscope stream
• Static camera intrinsics: focal length, principal point, sensor orientation
• 8 scene categories: kitchen, warehouse, delivery, retail, garment, repair, and more
• Flexible upload: email or invite-code authentication, cloud or local sharing
• Privacy-first: no audio recording, no precise location collection

Data security: All uploaded data is encrypted at rest in our AWS Singapore datacenter, accessible only to authorized research partners under written data-use agreements. Full policy: https://digients.tech/legal/privacy

Target users: professional data collectors (not for users under 18).

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-28

- Stuck uploads now recover on their own: a part that stops making progress is cut off and retried instead of holding the whole upload open indefinitely.
- More retry headroom on large videos, so a brief network drop no longer costs you the whole transfer.
- Steadier sign-in: a failed DNS lookup is retried automatically, and network problems are now explained in your own language instead of showing a raw error code.
- Cue volume now actually works. The Low/Medium/High setting previously had no audible effect; it is applied to every prompt now, the three levels have been recalibrated to the range the speaker can actually reproduce, and a preview button in Settings lets you hear the difference without starting a recording.
- Alternate upload channel: an operator-assigned switch in Settings, for teams routed to a different upload region.
- Mount view: the top controls line up, and the countdown no longer overlaps them.
- Various stability improvements.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-17

- Auto-upload: recordings now upload automatically over Wi-Fi after each session — no manual step needed.
- Vietnamese voice guidance: hand-presence and recording prompts are spoken in Vietnamese when the app language is set to Vietnamese.
- More reliable uploads in China: fixed a network error that could appear right after signing in with a +86 phone number.
- Fixed stuck video uploads: resumed uploads now treat the server as the single source of truth, resolving cases where a video could retry forever.
- Safer recordings: metadata is now written the moment recording starts, so your data survives an unexpected app close.
- Camera fix: turning the guide border off no longer causes a black camera screen.
- Recording cards now show the capture time (HH:MM).
- Various stability and UI improvements.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-06-27

New: Referral system
• Sign in with a real account — everyone now gets a personal referral code.
• On first launch you can set a nickname and bind your upline's referral code, so work can be tallied by team / project.
• Settings let you edit your nickname, view your own code, and bind and view your upline's code. Tap any field — code, UID, phone or email — to copy it.

More reliable uploads
• Videos now upload in chunks (multipart), so large files are far more robust and can resume after an interruption.
• Interrupted uploads resume automatically when you reopen the app.
• Upload failures now show the exact reason in both the list and detail views.
• Fixed a case where a recording could be marked "uploaded" before all of its files had actually finished uploading.

Camera & compatibility
• Fixed the ultra-wide lens not being selectable on some Android devices.
• More accurate lens detection for better capture metadata.
• Camera initialization errors are now shown on screen.

Plus various stability and layout refinements.

### 1.1.4 — 2026-06-16

This update significantly improves recording and upload reliability:

• Recording salvage: footage already captured is saved when a recording is interrupted by an incoming call, backgrounding, or an unexpected stop — no longer lost
• Recovery on launch: the app scans for and restores unfinished recordings when reopened
• Damage detection: damaged recordings are clearly distinguished from ones that can simply be re-uploaded
• Discard confirmation: you're now asked to confirm before discarding an in-progress recording
• More reliable uploads: automatic retry on transient network failures, plus fixes to the bulk-upload count and button state
• Mainland China phone sign-in: faster, more reliable SMS verification codes
• First launch now follows your device's system language

### 1.1.1 — 2026-06-08

• Sign in with a phone-number verification code
• Login flow and stability improvements
