## What is Dice?

Dice turns your camera roll into a daily game.

Every day you get one roll. Dice reaches into your photo library and pulls back a grid of moments you forgot you had — an old video, a blurry night out, a photo of your friend mid-sentence. Keep what it gave you, re-roll what you don't want, and post it before the day runs out.

You can't see your friends' rolls until you post your own.

HOW IT WORKS
• Roll — Dice deals you a grid of photos and videos from your own library. No captions to write, no feed to scroll for inspiration.
• Re-roll — Don't like a tile? Roll it again. You get a set number of re-rolls a day, so choose carefully.
• Post — Once you post, your friends' rolls unlock. Everyone's post lives for 24 hours, then it's gone.

REAL PHOTOS, NOT CONTENT
Dice pulls from what's already on your phone. That means the good ones and the bad ones — the pictures you'd never post on purpose. It's closer to going through an old shoebox with your friends than to posting.

WITH YOUR FRIENDS
• Challenge a friend to a head-to-head round and see both rolls revealed at once
• React by dragging an emoji anywhere on a photo
• Comment, reply, and like — right on the post
• Message friends 1:1 or in group chats, and send photos privately
• Build a flame streak by rolling and chatting every day

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Dice only ever shows the photos you choose to post. Your camera roll stays on your phone — nothing is uploaded until you post it. Posts disappear after 24 hours, and you can archive or delete anything at any time. Block anyone, and turn off screenshots on your own posts if you'd rather they stay in the app.

NO FEED TO SCROLL FOREVER
There's no algorithm, no discover page, no strangers. Just your friends, once a day.

Roll the dice.

UNLIMITED RE-ROLLS (OPTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION)

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-08-25

Improved sign-in reliability, smoother motion and video playback, and stronger live updates when returning to Dice.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-20

Bug fixes and improvements.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-08-18

Videos in friends’ posts now recover automatically if a lightweight preview stalls, preventing tiles from getting stuck black.

Also includes reliability and performance improvements throughout the app.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-17

Crop, not just reframe. The tile editor zooms — up to 50% — and the pinch tracks your fingers instead of jumping. Its controls sit on glass.

The DICE wordmark now sits on the tile seam where it belongs, in shared images too.

Every pop-up uses one frosted backdrop, and dragging inside a card no longer swipes away the page behind it.

Reaction bursts animate again, and a roll shared into a chat no longer goes blank after a while.

A challenge can shape the opening grid and then get out of the way.

A timed challenge now counts down like it means it: the last ten seconds swell and stagger, and the last five beat in your hand.

Faster throughout: tiles load at the size they're actually drawn, the archive pager is warm before you reach it, and your friends list stops rescanning itself row by row.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-15

Challenge anyone from their profile. The button sits next to Message, and it turns up everywhere a chat does.

A friend's profile now shows their posts instead of your chat history, and on someone you haven't added yet you can see who you both know.

Search for people by the name you know them by, not their handle.

Swipe right to leave a profile.

React to anything on a profile the same way you do on the feed.

Dice runs cooler and lighter. The feed loads in pages instead of all at once, photos draw from what's already on your phone before fetching anything better, and the work that used to stutter the app has moved off the main thread.

Fixes: a post that won't upload no longer re-encodes your videos on every retry or parks forever on a slow iCloud fetch, pinning happens immediately, re-rolls you earned from an ad survive a dropped callback, and the new-posts marker counts what actually arrived rather than what you hadn't scrolled to.
