What happened to it? It’s been gone for a while now. Frankly, the “examples” tab isn’t helpful. It finds the most hard to decipher obscure examples on the web that doesn’t help someone who’s unfamiliar with a word to learn its meaning within a typical context. Simple examples like the ones provided in the Learners tab is helpful. Thanks ### 2/5 — What once was… *2024-12-27, version 11.6.0* This app used to be quite good but recently for some reason, it keeps telling me there is no results found for certain words that are words and are spelt correctly. For instance, I looked up the word ‘sentient’ today and was again told that it has no results for that word. I don’t know why this is happening but it’s reaching a point where it’s becoming quite regular and bothersome so I might have to download a different app if this issue cant be fixed in the near future. ### 5/5 — A dictionary is a wonderful thing *2024-10-31, version 11.6.0* New words expand our world. ### 2/5 — Lacks Accessibility for Low Vision Users *2024-10-08, version 11.6.0* I'm giving this app a low rating due to its lack of accessibility features for low vision users. Only the sidebar menu text enlarges, while text within the articles, definitions, etc. does not upscale properly in accordance with the text scaling settings on my device. This causes significant eye strain and makes the overall user experience very unpleasant. The tiny text makes it difficult to use the app comfortably, and improving text scalability would greatly enhance usability for low vision users, as well as any users wanting to avoid eye strain. ### 2/5 — Not fully functional *2024-09-29, version 11.6.0* The app is good but it’s not great. Using the thesaurus, it seems like there are certain words that are banned from viewing results. Im not sure if the app developers are homophobic, but they try to whitewash certain search results in thesaurus, as if to try to cover up their meanings. Never the best speller, I spent forever in the dictionary. Play the game Fictionary. The best game! Read a contract’s fine print. Who does the drawings? We all should have learned Latin in like 9th grade. 8th. Write down the spelling and look up one word a day. Bye! ### 1/5 — Tracking with no way to say no *2024-11-30, version 11.6.0* The first thing that happens when you open the app that you just paid money for is that they 'ask' you to accept tracking in a way that there is no button to decline it, no way to say no, with the only button being 'continue'. So I hit 'continue' figuring I would just go to Settings and change it afterward. I then went to Settings and there is no button or slider to control the tracking aspect. What a waste of time. If you love horrible user interface design and pretend choice that isn't actually choice, then I guess this app is for ... oh no wait it's still not for you, even so.
