It is a small app with only one area to create list or a series of notes. I am one who has become a frequent note-taker. I am now at the point where I am trying to write down a lot of the random nonsense and ideas that come into my head somewhere. So, I didn’t use it the rest of that first day I got it. Although, I picked it back up the next day for I had a lot going through my head that I wanted to do that day—most of it little tasks and goals for that day. After using it more the second day, the app began to grow on me. It’s simple, but it’s a nice running list of daily tasks. They’re easy to add and check off. Wish it had two additional options. The sound notifier of which the current sound I don’t like. And the option to have notifications at specific times. You get one place to put your tasks. No sub-tasks or grouping of tasks into projects or folders... one list... where you can see every task. No individual task reminders. You get one reminder option and that reminder is for you to check your list. You can set that reminder for every 15 minutes up to every 12 hours... and every hour/minute combination in between. Diem is wonderful for those with ADHD because it doesn’t allow individual task reminders. It allows us to focus without individual reminders distracting us constantly throughout the day. No color theme options (only dark and light). No projects or grouped task lists. No sub-tasks. No attachments. Simple. Wonderful. I have noticed a few “bugs” where I have edited a task title and then had the task tile revert back to its previous title. Not a big deal but it is something that has happened. ### 4/5 — Handy *2019-09-18, version 1.0* I needed this for it’s pure simplicity. With ideas constantly popping up in my head, I can’t always set aside the projects I’m doing, and it’s impossible to manage so many projects at the same time. Believe me, I’ve tried. It’s much easier to just put the ideas in the app and to them later. I only wish there was an option to snap a picture from the app to and put them there. Then I could just do a quick sketch of what I want to and save it into the app (as a photo.) Most helpful for visual thinkers, far more motivating to Get That Done! That would make it 5 stars for me! ### 5/5 — Perfect *2022-08-02, version 1.0* Sometimes you just need to jot down a quick reminder to yourself. This app is perfect for that. No annoying sub lists, folder structures, dates and times needed. It is a simple, clear, modern todo list. One list. One suggestion - I use apples voice dictation from the keyboard but I would love a button at the bottom of the screen to talk to add a note. It truly is minimalistic: no distractions, no intrusive ads, no jarring colors, no lines or divider panes... it’s just you and your list. It almost has a calming effect to use, which is important to those of us who feel overwhelmed at times. Digital zen. UI design is gorgeous. Very clean and functional. Font type is perfect for me in an app like this. Font choice is a monumental consideration for any app, and it is obvious that the developers of this app were very careful in their selection. That said, a light sans serif font would work well also. I did encounter a problem with the app. Initially, I tried to load up tasks in the app using my Bluetooth keyboard, but that didn’t work out too well. Maybe there are some key bindings I’m not aware of, but about four items in, things took a turn for the worst... list items started disappearing and leaving gaps, then some of the remaining ones began duplicating themselves. There was no undoing or fixing it. Eventually, I had to turn off the keyboard (the excellent Logitech K480), delete each item, restart the app, and re-type them in using on-screen. Also, I am curious why the developers chose to omit the option to enter a new item from the keyboard. As it is, the user presses the ‘+’ to add an item, types it out, and then must press ‘Done’ which returns them to the list to begin the process all over again. Starting a new item without having to close the keyboard would be the better path. Of course, this isn’t a deal-breaker, but I do wonder. I mean, this is a list app after all... wouldn’t there be an expectation that users are going to add several items to it and not just one? That “start-stop” routine interrupts flow, momentum, and just feels clunky and counterintuitive. I realize it’s only one extra key press, but an app this minimalistic shouldn’t have an ‘extra’ anything. Overall, this is a beautiful and elegant app for which I would gladly pay; Iwill continue to use it. Its design makes me feel comfortable especially when I turn the dark them on. Swipe right to delete. Swipe left to check the job done. No ads. No subscriptions.
