## What is DigAlert?

Underground Service Alert of Southern California (USA/SC) aka DigAlert was formed on September 13, 1976 in response to a deadly accident that had taken place in Culver City three months earlier. A petroleum pipeline was accidentally breached by a construction crew working on Venice Blvd and the resulting explosion took the lives of nine people. Additionally, an entire city block was burned to the ground and millions of dollars in damages were caused by this incident. The spark that ignited this deadly inferno quickly became the impetus behind a movement to prevent these tragic accidents. USA/SC is the result of that effort and has been serving this part of California ever since.

Keep yourself up to date with our latest advancements in technologies by downloading the DigAlert app with tons of useful tools for homeowners and contractors such as:

### 5/5 — Easy to use

*2025-09-13, version 1.7.16*

I've done it for multiple markings.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2023-06-26, version 1.7.11*

My app is up to date and there is no way to use DigAlert direct. None of the modules in the app load.

### 1/5 — Can’t get signed in

*2023-04-10, version 1.7.11*

Great app if I can only get signed in

### 3/5 — USA

*2022-07-18, version 1.7.9*

I’ve been using USA since the 80s. One of the simplest entities for a great cause which I’m sure over the years has saved billions of dollars in mishaps, not to mention the safety aspect. I have a certificate from 1987. However today, I spent over an hour trying to log on send a new ticket for some upcoming work I have this week. Maybe I’m too old, but I wasn’t so impressed with the website or sending a new ticket online. I think I’m going stick with what I know works flawlessly. The good ole telephone. And notepad to write down my ticket number. 👍🤨

### 5/5 — Great resource

*2021-12-17, version 1.7.4*

Great app for a contractor, works well and very informative.

### 1/5 — 1 error and back to the start!

*2021-02-13, version 1.6.30*

Don’t ever make a mistake, a miss spelled email that didn’t match, didn’t allow me to move forward after correcting it. The “next” button would remain disabled no mater what!

### 4/5 — I got all my responses

*2020-05-31, version 1.6.28*

My only thing to add about this app is that I wish it had saved the ticket number for you like in some history tab or something. I didn’t get my responses all in the same way but getting them was the most important thing to me.

### 4/5 — Special Instructions

*2019-06-10, version 1.6.19*

No way to put special instructions on the online version. Example: at north end of paved road 30 ft to your left.

No auto fill option on the online version.

Other than that it seems to be really easy.

### 2/5 — Not very helpful

*2019-03-17, version 1.6.16*

I am a plumbing contractor and perform many excavation jobs for sewer repairs. All I am interested in is a way to find out once my site has been marked out so that as I know once it’s safe to dig. The problem is none of the members respond through the app, so the only info the app gives me is a list of who should be doing the mark out followed by ‘pending response’. The contact info for those utilities is not even given so I can call to confirm if they’ve been out. Unless DigAlert requires them to respond properly this app is not useful to me.
Getting a quick response is very important to me, the majority of my jobs involve homeowners who have a non-functioning sewer line. When it’s been 3 days and I still haven’t had a single response, you can imagine that the homeowner begins to get very frustrated and wants to know when they can move back into their home

### 2/5 — Horrible

*2019-03-04, version 1.6.15*

This is one of the worst apps I have ever used. Did anyone even try using it on a phone before releasing it?
