## What is Digicity?

Digicity is a city builder for iPhone, iPad and Mac. You get a 128x128 map, a handful of tools, and a clock that starts in 1900. Zone land as residential, commercial or industrial, at light, medium or heavy density — then watch what you zoned decide for itself whether to grow. Nothing appears because you placed it. Buildings arrive when the demand is there, the power reaches, the water arrives and the land is worth building on, and they stall when it is not.

WHAT YOU BUILD
• Roads, tram lines, power lines and water pipes, each drawn by dragging
• Six ways to make power — two coal plants, hydro, wind, nuclear and a gas turbine — plus a district heat plant that makes none at all and lowers what a district draws instead
• Water pumps, water towers, and an artesian well that draws from under the city rather than from beside it
• Police stations, fire stations, treatment works that clean fouled water, and a reclamation yard that puts stained ground back
• Bus and train terminals • Nine kinds of zone: three types across three densities

WHAT THE CITY DOES BACK
• Residential, commercial and industrial demand that answers what you have built
• Pollution that spreads from industry and drags land value down with it
• Land value that decides what grows where, and how far it gets
• Crime and fire risk that your stations answer, and your neglect does not
• A monthly budget: tax each kind of zone separately, and pay for what you built

FOURTEEN WAYS TO SEE WHY Lay pollution, traffic, freight, land value, crime, fire risk, power coverage, water coverage, building age, groundwater, water pollution, contamination, elevation or road access over the map, and find out why that district stopped growing instead of guessing.

A CITY WITH A CALENDAR Scenario mode asks you to found a city around an anchor — a port, a university, a hospital — and play it forward through four eras. Each era changes the rules rather than just the date. Cars stretch the city and then make its streets hard to live beside. Old industry stains ground that outlasts the bulldozer. From 2010 power and water stop being limitless, and a district drawing more than its plants supply goes dark at its edges. Reaching 1930, 1970 and 2010 each files a report card grading what you actually built in the era you have just finished.

EVERY MAP IS NEW Every city starts on a randomly generated map, and you can reroll until you find one worth building on. It tells you how much of it is water before you commit.

TIME IS YOURS Three speeds and a pause, with the space bar to toggle it. One step of undo takes back the last thing you built and refunds what it cost — including whatever it flattened on the way in.

THE PRICE, PLAINLY Open Build — the sandbox — is free and complete. Every tool, every building, the whole map. No timers, no energy meters, no ads.

What is for sale: Saving, which keeps your cities so you can come back to them. Scenario mode, sold one era at a time — The Rail Era (1900-1929), The Motor Era (1930-1969), The Service Era (1970-2009) and The Logistics Era (2010 on) — each extending how far your calendar runs. And Ultimate, which is every era plus saving together.

None of it is a subscription. None of it expires.

BUILT FOR IPHONE, IPAD AND MAC VoiceOver labels on every screen, and keyboard shortcuts throughout. On iPhone it plays in landscape; on a Mac with Apple silicon it runs as the iPad app, keyboard and all. No account, no sign-in, and no analytics. Playing needs no network at all — the only thing that reaches one is an anonymous check for what you have bought, and every part of the game works whether it answers or not.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 26.9 — 2026-09-22

Digicity now runs on iPhone. The whole game, not a trimmed one — the same 128x128 map, the same simulation, the same saves. Hold the phone sideways: iPhone play is landscape only, because a landscape phone is short and wide and that is the dimension the layout had to answer to. The tool palette became a drawer that slides over the city and closes the moment you pick a tool. On iPad nothing has moved.

Four eras that each bring something. In Scenario, an era's buildings now wait for that era, so reaching 1970 and reaching 2010 each hand you something new instead of everything arriving at once in 1930. The Service Era and The Logistics Era are both on sale now — the purchase screen used to stop at 1969 and tell you that was as far as the game went.

Your grid can be overloaded. From 2010 a power plant is an amount of electricity, not just a circle on the map. A district drawing more than its plants supply goes dark at its edges, and the five plants finally differ in something other than reach: a wind turbine carries a hamlet, a nuclear plant carries a city. The 2010 report card grades whether your power and water kept up.

Three ways to make power without burning anything — a Hydro Plant beside water, a Wind Turbine on high ground, and a Nuclear Plant anywhere you can afford one. None of them touches your air or your groundwater.

Bus and train terminals, which extend how far your commute reaches without laying any track — but only if people can already get to the terminal.

Water you can ruin. Industry and coal plants on the shore tip into the water beside them. A river that reaches the edge of the map carries it away; a lake with no outlet keeps it for decades. The tile inspector tells you which kind you are looking at before you build. The groundwater under your city can go bad the same way.

Two new overlays — Road Access, so you can see which lots are stranded in the middle of a deep block, and Elevation, because "is this flat?" was unanswerable.

A tram line is a street now, and lots along it grow. Laying track used to carry your passengers and develop absolutely nothing.

Founding a city no longer means hunting for the spot. Scenario tints every legal site for your port, university or hospital and counts them, with Next site to walk the camera between them.

Your map has woods on it.
