### 4/5 — Useful or isn't

*2026-06-13*

Sounds are great, but there's no MIDI Channel select. If your keyboard is connected to your drum pads, look somewhere else unless you want random drum sounds while you play your keyboard. A lot of good sounds and presets, but I can't use it. Also I'd really like it if there was a real manual rather than linking to YouTube videos.

### 4/5 — Cannot see import option to load drumkit bank b in digistix 2 standalone mode

*2026-02-21, version 1.21*

I’ve watched YouTube videos until I went blind, but I still can't find an answer to my problem. I’m running 26.3 on an iPad Pro m5, deleted and reinstalled, performed numerous internet searches No Luck! I really want to use the software, but I need resources to address issues. Looking forward to an answer, thank you.

Checked it out on my iPhone, same issue. Could it be because of the new iOS update?

### 4/5 — New version 1.20 crashes

*2025-11-26*

New version 1.20 crashes in standalone mode and as a plugin in Cubasis 3 when it reaches the end of the pattern in song mode. I’m using iOS version 18.3.1 on an iPhone. App has been great with some bugs since I purchased it about 9 months ago, but this current bug is making it unusable.

### 3/5 — Not ideal for iPhone, unpleasant UI

*2024-06-04*

I think this app is powerful and an important tool for iOS music production, but I’m the type that won’t buy an app unless I can use it on an iPhone as well. I’m sorry but the UI on iPhone is unacceptable (as for all of “4pockets” plugins) and should be pulled from the app store unless it gets a redesign

### 4/5 — Great Drum Plug, need more midi control

*2024-03-19*

Since it's the only one I could find with multiple levels on each sample, it is doing nicely... The midi control/learn could be greatly expanded though- for example how about pattern erase?
thanks!

### 4/5 — God, so close…

*2024-02-18, version 1.17*

Midi Integration is basically only on Parameters, pads and patterns, from randomization to melodic canvas, sequence length, even “clear pattern” and an ENORMITY (this app is so complex and beautiful ) of other parameters, all of this is accessible only opening the app. This makes it pretty narrow for a live situation as much as not really easy to integrate in a unitary producer environment ( touch osc i.e.).
Is there ANY chance to have an update in this direction?
Any answer is very appreciated!
Thank you so much for your past, and finger crossed future, work!!

### 3/5 — Does a lot but not what I need

*2024-01-16*

The description mentions midi mapping, but that’s only for the note numbers that trigger the pads. I need a way to control the filter cutoff and panning of individual pads with MIDI CCs. You can adjust these parameters with onscreen controls but there’s no way to map them to external controllers. If all the controls were linkable/mappable to CCs that would make it so much more usabe as a software sampler to play with my external controller.

### 3/5 — Dommage

*2023-10-25*

ADSR et filter par pad/sample please.

### 4/5 — Tap Tempo

*2023-05-25*

Please add tap tempo to natively change bpm

### 4/5 — Needs a new update

*2023-05-09*

When trying to mute a track on bank a or c it doesn’t solo out

### 3/5 — Pattern Range Non-Functional?

*2023-04-30*

While programming a pattern, I can program from 1-16 and then 17-32. But, during pattern playback, the playback loop defaults to playing only the range 1-16. This is definitely a bug and needs to be resolved.

### 4/5 — Promising, needs some dialing in

*2023-04-09*

There are some promising qualities here. I would highly recommend merging the round robin and velocity laters, so the user can have 3 or 4 round robin samples for each layer. This is key to getting realistic drums. So each drum would have about 15 or 20 samples. My other observation is the sample editor screen is squashed so arbitrarily small, the user can’t even get enough of a vertical visual on the waveform to see where low velocity samples start when editing. That’s a confusing choice to me. Why not make the sample edit screen full screen with a close button? I created a custom kit with velocity layers, but It took forever and was extremely tedious in the gui because the start of the waveforms for the soft samples were so hard to see. The ‘scrolling interface’ and small sampler editor also becomes cumbersome, quickly. I’d make each gui page full screen with buttons to quickly tab to each. Lots of great stuff here, nonetheless. Please, though, most importantly, add 3-4 round robin samples for each velocity layer and then you’ve really got something here. Some updates and Digistix could be the cat’s meow!

### 4/5 — Great But…

*2023-02-01*

This is a lovely bit of kit but it doesn’t play nice outside itself.
For example if you use CC controls like pitch this doesn’t get saved when exporting midi to a file or sent via a midi output making it an app that I don’t actually use.
I feel very sad about this because otherwise it’s a really great bit of kit.

### 4/5 — Lo mejor, el Auto Sample

*2022-12-26, version 1.15*

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Too confusing!

*2026-01-14*

As a complete beginner I’m really frustrated with this app. At first glance when watching YouTube reviews everyone is raving about it. But the reality is it’s very complicated to use, even with some prior knowledge of drum machines.
Unlike other apps, where the deep settings are tucked away behind logically organised menus, this app has everything in your face in one go, you just scroll up and down to see everything.
This makes it overwhelming if all you want to do is create a basic drum pattern and save it.
Even you use of colours and different size buttons would help, it’s just not nice, plus there are no official beginners guides that I can find on YouTube or anywhere else. The developers website is blank so that’s no use either.
I’m sure if your a polished pro who understands midi and all the jargon etc that it is a good app, but avoid if like me you’re a beginner.

### 1/5 — No refund???

*2025-04-17, version 1.18*

I tried Digistix and it didn’t fit my workflow… BPM not syncing to host, and non fluid scrollable UI to change presets live, also racks weren’t mapped consistently… I thought I had right of withdrawal within 15 days but apparently they won’t refund me and now I’m stuck with an app that I won’t use at all…..

### 1/5 — Исчезли все пользовательские паттерны

*2025-04-07, version 1.18*

Неожиданно все сохраненные мной барабанные паттерны оказались пустыми и невозможно их использовать. Часы работы потрачены зря

### 1/5 — Utilisation impossible dans Logic Pro iPad

*2024-12-16*

VG

### 1/5 — DigiStix 1/2

*2021-12-02*

I bought this thinking I could transfer all my beats (songs) from DigiStix 1 but as yet have not been able to do so, after several futile attempts to contact support. Hence - I cannot even used it yet.

### 2/5 — For the love of.. BIGGER PADS PLEASE!

*2023-05-16*

PLEASE MAKE THE PADS BIGGER!
I want to really like this app and you’ve done a good job but, I just don’t get how this could get overlooked. I’m a drummer of 50+ years. When sampling became a “thing” I taught myself finger drumming and can confidently say I can play as well or better now with my digits than behind a full kit. That is assuming of course that the pads have full velocity sensitivity and are large enough to navigate a blisteringly fast black metal drum track and come out alive. Something like a nice MPC3000 from the days of yor. You actually describe the pads in this app as “MPC style”.
I’ve known many an MPC and this sir, is no MPC.
The pads are tiny!
Is there a way you could make one full page of the scroll down window dedicated to just pads and a few essential control buttons (copy, paste, import, arrange, bank select, patch select, pad edit, sample edit, midi assign) just a nice neat column of control buttons next to a commanding and respectful 4x4 pad bank. Man,.. makes me think the future might just be ok when I think about it.. Do you think you could do that?
That would be awesome! I’ll be looking for that update, because until then, this is useless.

### 2/5 — Excellent sounds but …

*2023-03-21*

I use a midi keyboard with drum pads. Now, I’ve programmed the pads to send on channel 10, the keyboard on channel 9 and all the knobs and buttons on channel 8. However, Digistix-2 responds to all channels. Unless I can setup Digistix-2 to only respond to channel 10, the convention, then this app won’t be of much use to me. Can this be done? if not a fix would be appreciated.
Also, the support links does not help as I would have requested help via the link.

### 2/5 — Missing a lot…as promised and overlooked…

*2022-09-24*

Not working:
Mute
Export Audio

Overlooked:
Per solo/mute on mixer tracks

Too much other stuff to mention with the headache this app has given me.
I think maybe they are doing too much (too many apps) to perfect one thing. IMHO

**Developer response:** You can mute individual tracks by tapping on the drum name in the grid header you can solo a track, and hold 'Track Mute' while tapping on a track to mute a track. The mixer is designed for a minimal view size which leaved little room for these options. Hopefully in 2023 (health issues asside) I will have time to spend on this app and fill in the missing pieces.

### 3/5 — Need midi control

*2025-07-12*

Is there a way to map faders or start and stop? Maybe I’m missing it

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It's the beez kneez!

*2026-06-21*

My desert island drum dealer. I've many iOS apps - for drums this covers it all. If it had an undo and simple sample audition I'd give it six stars.

### 5/5 — Needs to utilize full screen. Great app otherwise.

*2024-06-25*

The white border is driving me nuts. Especially in dark settings. Also on an iPad mini, that white space takes up usable real estate. Is it possible to have a mode that goes full screen so it’s easier to access items on a small screen? (Especially in portrait mode… it’s doesn’t seem to use the entire vertical space) I think it could also look more integrated as an app rather than decorating it to look like a physical module.

Also thinking about using this for live gigs. Possible to have a low graphic usage mode where the decorative elements and some VFX are removed to improve reliability and reduce chances of a crash? (Haven’t experienced one yet but just a thought)

Thanks!

### 5/5 — Super App!

*2024-02-23*

Jeden Cent wert! 👍👍👍
Undo button wäre noch schön…

### 5/5 — 👍😀

*2024-01-03*

😀👍

### 5/5 — 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

*2023-08-16*

This app is pretty awesome….. please add an option so that we can remove the white border and use it in full screen that would help some of the things looking too small plus the white is annoying to look at

### 5/5 — This is his most enigmatic creation!

*2023-07-21*

If there is anything that would consist both divinity and artistic integrity, Digistix 2 is that thing. I, I don’t know how Paul does it, but the sheer amount of artistic freedom and creativity he puts in his app is unparalleled.

Among all the developers in the iOS platform, someday Paul and his 4pockets creations would considered Hall of Famers.

His Shimmer, Reverb, DigiStix2, vocal soloist, sideband, Time Machine, and others are just phenomenal.

None quite so equal, none will ever be.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2023-06-15, version 1.15*

Really well made application. It has a lot of features ad is cheap for what it does. As others have already said, round robin functionality for each layer would be really useful and would take the potential to higher level.

### 5/5 — it's the best.

*2022-10-28*

I had been looking for an app that did exactly what this does. I run it, a MIDI trigger device, and a USBC audio interface off my ipad pro - and it's perfect. I love being able to create my own kits. I've even made some feature requests that have been implimented. 6 stars out of 5. Must own for a drummer.

### 5/5 — AMAZING

*2022-05-26, version 1.13*

if you looking for the best auv3 drum machine with ability to import your own sounds this is for you.

### 5/5 — So glad to see this making it into the iPhone!

*2022-05-21*

Thank you so much! My favorite drummer app 🙏🏼.

2 small details:

iPhone view is very hard to handle… it would be great if you could perhaps work on the resizing of your plugins for small devices as they are very hard to handle (super tiny UI on landscape or portrait mode).

Alternatively, could we get the layout for Digistix 1 on Digistix 2 as an option? Such layout makes a lot more sense on phones (the pad grid on Digistix 2 is just not suited for phones, it’s kinda not useful at all unfortunately).

Wonderful apps anyway! My only complain really is the iPhone UIs are too tiny 😬
