First of all when I try to not give a payment because I want to use it with out any packs or subscriptions I try to press the x. When the no thanks pops up I try to press it but it doesn’t work. I started using the free iPhone one a few years ago because it is more intuitive. Today when I attempted to go back to see my old entries, and my progress over the years, it is now behind a paywall and none of my entries are accessible unless I sign up for a free trial and potential paid use. My personal writing would never properly backup to cloud even when I was using it, so now all my writing is just gone. Don’t get suckered by this scam. It was simple, free, and a lovely way to keep a personal journal. I wrote quite a few diary entries and found it genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, I can no longer log in without paying for a subscription, which means all of my previous entries are now inaccessible. It’s incredibly disappointing to lose access to something so personal that I trusted the app to keep safe. I understand that developers need to make money, but locking away users’ existing data behind a paywall feels unfair. If this issue is ever resolved, I’d gladly return and update my review, because the app itself was a great journaling tool, until this happened. ### 1/5 — Says it’s free, but it’s not. *2025-10-26, version 10.9* You can only get a 3 day trial and then you have to pay. It’s easy to write in, but it doesn’t keep your entries saved. I’ve used it for six months, and I don’t know what happened to all my entries, they disappeared. I thought maybe I’d forgotten to back them up, or that it was something on my end, so I started completely over. But when I logged in today, even yesterday’s entry was nowhere to be found. I don’t understand how to get this app to actually save entries.
