A shame because the print version of digital photographer is one of my favourite magazines. Back to the print version! ### 1/5 — Great zine, horrible app *2012-11-02* I got half-way through the first issue I dled and then the app crashed. Any time I try to open it, it crashes. Glad I hadn't bought a subscription yet. If the app worked I'd still only give it ⭐⭐⭐ because its only an over-glorified PDF of the print version. The content is fantastic but needs to be better translated into electronic format. In this digital age of technological marvels I expect more than just a picture of the pages I have to zoom in on. Check out The British Journal of Photography's app; there's so much more to e-zines than scanned pages. ### 3/5 — took my money nicely … but won *2012-08-29, version 2.5.5* the magazine is great … the app is buggy .. ditto with icreate, others in the same stable .. if they download, they're fine, if the print copy is unavailable .. ### 1/5 — Ted *2012-08-14, version 2.5.5* Bought the latest issue for an iPad thinking it might be a proper iPad app. The magazine is just a PDF version of the printed version. I even bought a subscription but it did not seem to take. So even though it was great I did get what I paid for. Maybe I did not pay in the right currency but I expected Apple would have worked that out. ### 1/5 — Agonizing, Unfriendly App Kills the Decent Magazines. *2014-08-03* Magazines are very good but it is agonizing to access them thru the app interface. I have had to re download mine every time I am trying to read them. Also, you cannot print any page of the magazines you paid for. Very unfriendly. Stay clear. ### 1/5 — Don't bother! It is focused on technique and ideas, and much less on gear, which I prefer. I always fine something of interest in each issue. Some mags have switched to a special digital version, such as Practical Photography, but I prefer the facsimile of the whole magazine like this one. The Help desk advised that the special issues could be downloaded again from the iTunes store, but my account has been charged again. A great publication, and useful technology for storing and retrieving back copies, but it needs to work!
