## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.4 — 2026-10-21

Report a story problem straight from the player.

- A Report a story issue link under the player opens an email with the place, language and story already filled in
- When a story could not be prepared, the report carries its reference so we can find exactly what went wrong
- Small reliability fixes behind the scenes

### 1.1.3 — 2026-10-19

Faster, steadier stories, especially in Hindi and Gujarati.

- Nearby places load in about a second again, instead of waiting on a slow fallback
- Switching language now refreshes the list and story you are on, and keeps playing if you were listening
- The story you are hearing keeps playing until the next one is ready
- Clearer messages when a story cannot be prepared, with Try again whenever it can help
- Hindi and Gujarati stories that name a place in its own script are no longer rejected
- You can now type a starting point when planning a route

### 1.1.2 — 2026-10-17

Stories now show exactly what is happening while they are prepared, and recover when something goes wrong.

- A clear progress card while a new story is prepared: reading the sources, writing the story, recording the voice
- A Try again button when a story cannot be prepared, instead of an error pop-up
- Stories load more reliably on restrictive networks, with audio now served from our own domain
- Sturdier connections: longer patience for new stories and automatic retries

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-15

Drive mode now says plainly what it does: it looks for stories while the app is on screen, and the story you started keeps playing when you lock the device.

- Removed the background location capability the app no longer needs
- Clearer Drive mode status, with no request for Always location access
- Spoken stories continue in the background with lock-screen play and pause

### 1.0 — 2026-08-18
