### 2/5 — Subpar functionality

While it is helpful to have an app that allows voluminous board materials to be presented digitally, the functionality of this app is indifferent. The markup tool can be glitchy: sometimes it simply doesn’t work, and the tool has to be closed and reopened. If that doesn’t work, the entire diligent app must be shut down and restarted. In my case, the markup pen always initiates in red rather than black despite the fact that I have instructed the app to save my last settings used.  Unless I want all my annotations to be in red, that means each time I want to use the markup pen I have to set it to black.

Much more annoying, this app frequently requires using a password, which itself must be changed frequently, to access materials. This despite the fact that after each time after re-entering my password, I am told that Face ID will be used for my next login. I would say that about 1/3 of the time this isn’t the case. Needless to say that can be very annoying when the app exits in the middle of a meeting.

I have discussed this over an extended period of time with diligent technical support where I am assured that there’s nothing they can do.

I would strongly encourage anyone looking for digital access to board materials to consider alternatives to diligent.

Unprofessional.  I have to use this for my boards, but then I get constantly targeted with “news and insights” banners, side bars, emails. This is nothing more than advertising for Diligent. And it is not possible to disable this infuriating feature. 
Dear Diligent, I am not some dumb advertising hoarding. Please stop spamming me and just do the job you are (very well) paid for.

I use this app a lot (have to). Recently it is eating my battery (albeit iPad now also functions as a body warmer!) I’m not sure what has changed but please developers take a look, I can’t even last a day now with my iPad! Functionality is OK and can make notes on papers/save etc.  But not the easiest thing to navigate and would prefer if it ran off the single login rather than yet another password, but battery is now a big issue for me

The new home page shows information I largely do not want, such as a Resolution I should allegedly have voted on 2 years ago, and cannot be tailored or deleted. Can we have an option of opening on the Current Books page?

Love this app, however since upgrading to the latest iPad, this app is burning through my battery and making my iPad very warm when using it. I used to be able to use the app for two full days of meetings, now it barely makes it through one day. iPad diagnostics show no problem with the hardware.

Seriously clunky in using pen with Diligent. Apple Pencil used to work well with iPad. It is now so bad, I can no longer make notes

Oh and stop the pop up’s and ads. We’re busy

Have been using for almost 10 years and while your passcode setting is cumbersome (frequent changes, burdensome naming rules) in the past your support was A+ in handling changes.  Called and someone answered immediately and fixed the issue. Today the system would not let me change the passcode, tried 5 times and times out before I can change it. When calling support I was put on hold for too long and had to call back later to hold again. Process in past took 3 mins and today spent over an hour on this.

Installed and logged in easily, but the next login we just get the error message: ‘400 Bad request - Request header or cookie too large’. It’s a new iPad running 14.7.1.
Lots online about deleting the cache in browsers, but nothing when this happens in the app, or even that it happens in the app.

I can’t believe I’m the only one in 650,000 claimed users having this issue. But the app is pretty much useless to us unless we can resolve it.

This is the most spammy app I own. It pushes ads and popups at me constantly despite my host company paying a small fortune to use it. Poor app, seems to be more interested in $ than in CX.

Despite Apple’s long beta period, this app was not ready for IOS13 so I have had a week full of board meetings with the app crashing every minute or two. Not acceptable.

I have used several apps for board papers over the years and this is the worst by a long way. The issue are:
- difficult to identify the next meeting as they are not sorted in date order
- page numbers are for the whole pack, not per item/document, making navigation difficult 
- it is not easy to tell which documents have been read and which not 
Those are but a few of the issues. I have seriously considered reverting to paper as a better solution, despite the number of trees involved.

This app only allows you to scroll left to right (whether iPad is in landscape or portrait position). It would be great if it could also scroll from page to page from top to bottom.

Horrible suite of applications, not integrated, not intuitive, like 8 spoons and no forks or knives.  Obviously a PE firm cutting R&D to milk user base. No AI functionality. A new entrant will steal this entire market.

This app is awful. I have been unable to access my important board meeting because it never accepts my password. My assistant has changed it for me four times and two years. I either have to show up unprepared ( unacceptable) or I end up borrowing my colleagues’ computers the night before meetings . Horrendous

I have to use this for work so no option.  Other reviews are right - it’s full of spammy ads that you cannot get rid of even though your company pays to use the app, the new landing page is not fit for purpose and makes no sense and you have no option to change it, updates don’t necessarily get pushed out so that you have to delete the app and all the papers you have downloaded on to the ipad to start again (I’ve had to do this multiple times…) and the general user interface is poor.  Can’t search while not online, can’t delete annotations from multiple books at once… I could go on…

The software does not allow URLs to be created for board books, individual pages or other content. This is critical functionality that has been in competitive offerings since day one. This is a showstopper. Do not buy until they fix it.

In addition, if your company enables MFA, then users cannot switch between board books without logging out and logging in again. Since Diligent does not play nicely with my password manager, this is a real pain.

I have used Diligent on several boards over the last 5 years. I use it on iPhone, iPad, and MacBook all seamlessly. It is secure, easy to use and provide convenient access to all my board materials. Never had any spam.. Other board apps I have used over the years were nowhere near as good.

I use the app to access board books of three different organizations. I have had a glitch or two with access over the years but it has otherwise worked flawlessly. I have noted that new content uploaders can occasionally miss the last step to making content go live for readers, this has led to situations where they think material is available and it isn’t. That is the only real issue I have seen with the usability. I have never had to call customer support.

For serious board work on a secure platform this app is just outstanding.  (I dont understand why some of the negative reviews - spammy???    There is zero spam!!)

Love the Diligent Boards App. It is so simple to use and I love that I can access all of my latest board material no matter where I am right from Diligent Boards. If I have any questions I just call the support line to speak to a real life person no matter what time of day. The support that Diligent provides is unheard of these days. Thanks Diligent!
