### 2/5 — Font is so tiny

*2026-01-22, version 2.21.0*

Why is the font so small in the area screen ? So much space yet you make me get a magnifying glass to read it.
Still very clunky to change heating times.

### 2/5 — What have you changed?

*2025-12-05, version 2.18.0*

I am using 2 iOS devices to access our heating system, an iPhone and an iPad. They login to the same hub, with the same user names (email) and passwords that are shared via iCloud so they ARE identical. For years I have been able to login from either device, sometimes both at the same time, now I can’t, it’s just the one device only. In my case it’s an iPad. If I try to do anything by clicking on the app, register for example all I get is ‘Bad Request.’
I have tried resetting the password, nothing, it doesn’t help at all. Still only the one device allowed.
What have you changed? Because up until I was forced to change the password NOTHING has changed my end, and as I said before the login details are stored in iCloud so are identical.

### 1/5 — Extremely over complicated

*2025-11-21, version 2.18.0*

Had the app for a few years and still failing to use successfully, Profiles create ok but fail to set on each heater.
Very difficult to change a heater setting on an ad hoc basis.

### 1/5 — Great when working

*2025-11-19, version 2.18.0*

19 Nov app failed today on the day that the weather has really changed. I’m going to have a very very cold house tomorrow. I have tried EVERYTHING to fix it. Now not accepting password even when I’ve just reset it.

### 1/5 — Problem

*2025-11-19, version 2.18.0*

It’s stopped working!

### 1/5 — Awful App & Products

*2025-11-19, version 2.18.0*

Truly awful app (constantly buggy, falling over and not working) and products (issues connecting, constantly disconnecting from the hub and a hub which constantly fails). Don’t contemplate buying the products. Go with a competitor.

### 1/5 — Server down?

*2025-11-19, version 2.18.0*

Lost connection. Re-installed. Can’t log in to my account. Given the cost of these heaters and the ridiculous cost of the hub, the least I expect is for consistent server uptime. Spend some of your profits on building a robust, redundant server infrastructure please.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work on fireplaces

*2025-09-25*

The app doesn't work electric fireplaces despite what it says in the Dimplex installation and users guide

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for getting in touch. The Dimplex Control app is for electric heating appliances and hot water cylinders. For electric fires please use the Flame Connect app (by Dimplex). Hopefully your fire is compatible with that app

### 1/5 — Poor app

*2025-04-16, version 2.14.1*

My husband and I consider ourselves to be relatively IT savvy. But this app is driving us mostly me, mad! We have 20 heaters in out hall and at the moment I would rather go back to using an old fashions timer! It takes a long time to connect which i have learnt to deal with but learning how the app works is a nightmare and i still scant say with certainty that heating is going to come on for hirers!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2025-04-06, version 2.14.0*

Absolutely useless app we have 3 Qrads and a 150l hot water cylinder all linked via the Dimplex hub. The Qrads have been installed since Oct 2020 and to date only 2 at any one time are connected the hot water cylinder was installed in Jan 2021 we have had two engineer visits two hubs and all the RF modules replaced. We purchased these premium items to allow us to monitor and control the heat and hot water in our holiday cottage 150 miles away. We have no idea what is happening at the cottage as the devices keep dropping off the app

So a year on and we now have had 2 Qrads replaced and we still have the same issues
Also the hot water cylinder has now decided to drop off the app!!

We run out cottage as a holiday let as it’s in Somerset and we live in Surrey we thought this was the answer to all our problems so far it is causing more problems than we had before we had them installed.
Our hot water cylinder was put into holiday mode when our last guests left, problem we now have is if we get a short notice booking I can’t turn the water on for them so will have to do a 6 hour round trip to turn the water on for the guests!!
This is just not acceptable in this day and age
Also when the Qrads are child locked you can’t unlock them or change any settings unless you physically input the pass code on each unit.
In my opinion I’ve wasted thousands of pounds on technology that is not fit for purpose

6th April 2025
Update to previous issues has been working fine for about 6 months. After this latest update two Radiators now constantly dropping off the system and when first opened all units dropped off the system.
Not very helpful as it’s a holiday cottage and the holiday season has now started.

### 2/5 — Requires improvement

*2025-03-10, version 2.12.0*

The user interface needs a lot of work to improve it

Setting the temperature results in the temperature change interface deselecting itself every time, the first time it is opened

Setting the temperature takes a long time as you can only change 1 degree at a time with a slow animation or 4 degrees if you swipe quickly.

There does not appear to be a way to change the temperature of all heaters within a zone at the same time without relying on timers.

There does not appear to be an option to monitor or control recharging of the quantum heaters from within this app.

There are a few positive points. The app instantly shows you the current zone temperature. The profiles feature allows you to create timers and apply them to multiple heaters within a zone if you have 2 heaters in 1 room like I have.

### 1/5 — Wouldn’t bother

*2025-01-12, version 2.11.0*

Downloaded the app and it just goes round in circles and won’t let you sign up. Just gives me set password - sends email code- says no account found sign up - but how!!!

### 3/5 — Dimplex Edel usable hot water not useful

*2024-12-16, version 2.10.1*

When the tank falls below 40 degrees it states you have 0 litres of hot water left. Not helpful as there’s no sense of what temperature the remaining water is. Either allow the app to show the cylinder water temperature, or make it adjustable for what the ‘usable’ hot water temperature is.

Personally I find 36-38 degrees hot enough, yet the app saying 0L gives ‘range anxiety’, whereas there may actually be more than enough hot water for a comfortable hot shower. Everyone is different.

### 2/5 — 3 years on and still can’t remotely lock/ unlock

*2024-11-26, version 2.10.1*

Used for holiday home for last 3 years where important to stop guests from fiddling with controls (given how complicated they are) or ,heaven forbid, decide to lock and set own password. Couldn’t amend controls remotely when locked when installed 3 years ago and still can’t. Completely negates benefits of being able to control remotely. Come on Dimplex do you really have such a poor regard for your customers that despite this being the most frequent complaint with the app you still haven’t fixed this?!

### 3/5 — Disappointing

*2024-11-25, version 2.10.1*

Having previously been used to using the Tado app I was expecting a similar level of control. There seems to be no way of setting the system to frost protection if you are away from home. You must set individual temperatures.
A nice idea but it needs development

### 1/5 — Horrible app that’s almost impossible to control

*2024-11-23, version 2.10.1*

I’ve no idea how to set a schedule. Sometimes I can get it to work but most of the time it fails to update the settings.
Evidently designed by an engineer instead of a software developer.
Please seek some help to make it usable.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Awful app and boiler

*2026-06-28, version 2.24.2*

Stay well away from dimplex. I have an EDEL RF Air source heat pump water heater in the flat i just moved into. It constantly comes up with “ OVERPRESS ERR” code flashing, so i followed troubleshooting guide and it wont resolve the issue. I have had no hot water now for 2 days. I followed app instructions and scanned QR code on the heater and it sais it is invalid and please input correct code. What a complete joke of a company, do not use these for any of your hot water or heating needs please go elsewhere. You have been warned by a legit user of their products.

### 1/5 — Heaters

*2026-03-23, version 2.22.0*

Some heaters communicate some don’t and then start communicating and the others stop.

Resetting hub and turning heaters off don’t help.

Fairly frustrating

### 1/5 — Absolutely Atrocious

*2026-03-15, version 2.22.0*

Dimplex Quantum Storage Heaters are rubbish.
£142 of electricity used in 10 days!!!!!

### 1/5 — regularly disconnects and need manual reset

*2026-03-05, version 2.21.0*

not helpful remotely. Also you can’t use this if you’ve locked the heaters. So you can’t actually adjust remotely if they’re locked manually. But also the app doesn’t function when unlocked. I wish I had wasted so much money on this system

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2026-02-12, version 2.21.0*

Purchased heater and hub for heating detached summerhouse for occasional random use, discussed suitability with retailer. This is not a suitable product for this set of circumstances, cannot turn heater off from app, the only solution the Dimplex technical support team could come up with was to use the “in all day” program and turn heater off using this program allowing me to turn it on when wanted. Unfortunately this means the heater comes on every morning at eight o clock at a temperature of 21 degrees centigrade requiring me to use the app to turn it off or pay for heating all day, instead of the occasional one hour session I need!,
Minor point the person at Dimplex said they would email a user guide to help me explore what I find a non intuitive app, to date not turned up!,
Another dissatisfied customer

### 1/5 — Rubbish!

*2026-02-02, version 2.21.0*

Constantly need reconnecting and when app updates you lose all data again! Heaters good app and WiFi control rubbish!

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2026-01-13, version 2.20.0*

Really poor given the price. The consumption figures are hugely unstated. I find the app to be inconsistent in saving settings. Moreover, despite my best efforts, and willingness to spend vast amounts on heating, my heaters never ever attain the programmed heat output. Hugely disappointing.

### 1/5 — Servers down, no 3rd party integrations

*2026-01-06, version 2.18.0*

Servers are down or slow very often lately and as a result heaters can’t be controlled from this.

Unnecessarily complicated, google home or HomeKit or an API would work much better.

### 1/5 — Server down?

*2026-01-05, version 2.18.0*

Lost connection. Re-installed. Can’t log in to my account. Given the cost of these heaters and the ridiculous cost of the hub, the least I expect is for consistent server uptime. Spend some of your profits on building a robust, redundant server infrastructure please.

Edit 5/01/2026
Server down again, on one of the coldest night of this year. Thanks Dimplex - really outstanding work!

### 1/5 — Problem

*2026-01-05, version 2.18.0*

It’s stopped working!
It’s done this before.
How do I get help?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Dimplex Controls our heating

*2025-12-19, version 2.18.0*

Excellent app for controlling Dimplex heaters in our village hall. Saves all the bother of walking to the hall to turn on the heating. Now we can do it remotely from either an iPhone or iPad. Also, thank you for the technical help with the app.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-02-13, version 2.12.0*

Love this app easy to use and control my heating either by zone or separate named appliances. Great for when I’m on holiday as well when you can set the heating to come on for your return. Only disappointment is that it’s not compatible with Alexa.

### 5/5 — So straightforward

*2020-02-04, version 1.14.1*

Unlike many apps this has been designed for the user. Simple to install, easy to use and a real benefit. Love being able to control several heaters as a zone.

### 5/5 — Heater

*2018-11-07, version 1.0*

This works great, so easy to use and control my heater

### 5/5 — Simplicity of controlling my home heating

*2018-10-31, version 1.0*

Really happy to be able to control my heating from my phone and tablet.

### 4/5 — 2-year review - basic and useful

*2026-01-14, version 2.20.0*

Having used the app in conjunction with the Hub for almost 2 years controlling 2 night storage heaters, its facilities are basic but effective, allowing me to reliably control the radiators using the schedules I’d setup, and manually override when needed. Remote access has proven useful when it’s possible to go out (being able to turn-off heating when I’d forgotten to do so manually before I’d left home), and turn the heating-on whilst out so I return to a warm home. It would be a significant benefit if there was an option to link with local weather forecasts so charging overnight was adjusted to meet anticipated demand the following day, to avoid wasted electricity consumption. All-in-all a useful and reliable app that does what it needs to do, and has the potential to be something even better.

### 4/5 — Stable, functional, GUI could improve

*2023-12-04, version 1.57.1*

I use this on iOS 17.1.2 and MacOS 14.1.1 Sonoma M1 Max processor. Very stable and functional. I control Quantum panel and Quantum storgage heaters. Shows energy input over time very accurately. My only beef is the GUI is a little slow and it's not clear which is the target temperature and the actual temperature.. ie no labels. Also the devives claim to have accuracy of =/- 0.3 degrees, but temp setting and reading is only in whole numbers. Like the fact you cann add several devices to a zone and see the zone effect rather than the indiviual heaters. Suggest Dimplex take a look at the HIVE interface which is award winning and I would say better than the Dimplex one, as as a first release it is pretty good.

### 4/5 — Capable App

*2023-01-31*

This is a very capable app and much easier to use than having to program the control panel on the heaters themselves. The remote access of being able to change schedules outside of the home is also very useful. However I do wish the ability to change schedules wasn’t quite so buried: select the room > select the heater > select the profile > change the schedule.

In addition, I really, really hope Dimplex adopts the Matter standard or opens to some third party options as it would be so much better and easier if these programs could work as part of an automation with other smart devices, really beginning to shave off energy usage by detecting presence and schedules. This desperately needs to be integrated with platforms such as HomeKit or Home Assistant. Please make it happen Dimplex.

### 4/5 — Much improved

*2022-01-18, version 1.35.2*

As of today 18 Jan 2022 the yesterday update seems to have resolved a lot of the issues. Power use issue seems resolved.

### 3/5 — Great when working

*2026-01-06, version 2.18.0*

5 Jan. Usually works fine to control 4 Quantum heaters BUT on the coldest day of the year it failed despite resetting router, hub, ipad and phone, deleting and reinstalling app. Broadband and devices were fine. App constantly buffering failing to update profiles. Went downstairs for the 3rd time to manually programme heaters. Would like to know why.
