## What is Dinner Dough?

Dinner Dough helps your household decide what to eat and keep the grocery shop inside the budget you set. Cook what you have. Spend what you planned.

Dinner Dough is a subscription. Try a meal idea first, then choose Plus or Family to keep going. New subscribers pay less for the first month of a monthly plan, and you can cancel any time in your store account.

Tell it what's in the kitchen and it suggests breakfast, lunch and dinner from that food, using up what is closest to its date first. Plan the week, take a shopping list that shows what fits the money left, and see at the end of the month where it went.

Meal ideas from what you have
• Ideas built around the food, drinks and snacks in your house, from jollof to shepherd's pie.
• Each idea shows about how long it takes, what it uses and anything you would need to buy.
• Ideas are saved. Ask the same again and you get them back without using another request.

A plan for the week
• Plan breakfast, lunch and dinner, or let Dinner Dough fill the empty slots.
• Mark a meal as cooked and what it used comes out of your stock.
• Add the missing ingredients to the shopping list in one tap.

A shopping list that fits the budget
• Set a weekly or monthly food budget in your own currency. Groceries, eating out and ordering in all count.
• The list shows what fits the money left and what goes over, so you can trim it or keep it as it is.
• Sort by priority or by store, skip what you don't need this time, and log what you bought in a tap.
• Log a meal out or a delivery in one tap, and other spending too, so what's left stays accurate.

Stock at home
• Keep a simple count of what's in the house with plus and minus.
• Anything at or below its restock level shows up on the shopping list.

Your monthly report
• See what you spent on food this month, groceries beside eating out, against your budget and against last month.
• Break it down by kind, by store, by week and by the items you spend most on.
• Save the month as a spreadsheet (CSV).

Plan and shop together
• Invite the people you live with by code: up to 2 people on Plus, up to 5 on Family. Each person is an owner, a member or a viewer.
• Everyone works from the same stock, list, plan and budget, and you can see who bought what.

Reminders, only if you want them
• Off until you turn them on. At most one a day, never in your quiet hours.
• Each one opens what you need in one tap: dinner isn't planned yet, something is close to its date, or the list costs more than what's left.

Works offline
• Stock, the list, the plan and the budget work without a signal. Changes are saved on your phone and sync when you're back online. Meal ideas need a connection.

Set up for your household
• Your currency, metric or imperial units, the day your week starts and the cuisines you cook.
• Add allergens to avoid and diets, and meal ideas take them into account.

About meal ideas and allergies
Meal ideas are written by AI from your household's food list. They are suggestions, not medical advice. If anyone in your household has an allergy, always check food labels yourself.

Your data
• No ads.
• Save your stock and purchases as CSV files, or a full backup, at any time.
• Delete your household or your account from inside the app.

Plans
Set up your kitchen and try a meal idea first, then choose a plan to keep going. Plus is for up to 2 people and Family for up to 5, with a larger shared allowance of meal idea requests. Both include receipt scan, price memory, spending beyond groceries and your full report history. New subscribers get a lower price for the first month where the store offers it. Prices are shown in the app and in the store before you buy, and subscriptions renew until you cancel.

Dinner Dough is for adults: you need to be 18 or over to use it.

A new start, and some small fixes.

- A new first open: a few quick questions, then your kitchen is ready.
- Share your shopping list or week plan as text, to WhatsApp or anywhere you like.
- Today shows what is next to eat, by time of day.
- Strict food rules no longer leave you with an empty list.
- Type how much is left when you update your stock.
- A short animated opening.
- Fixes, including a crash on Android after changing the text size.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-11-02

Food you can trust, and some small fixes.

- Foods we never eat: list the foods your household never eats and meal ideas leave them out.
- Not for us: mark a meal as not for you and it does not come back.
- Meals we love: tap Love it to keep a meal. New ideas lean towards the meals you love.
- Make extra for lunch: plan a leftover lunch for the next day in one tap.
- Shopping list by aisle: see your list grouped by section of the shop.
- Type how much is left instead of tapping minus.
- A dinner heads-up reminder, and reminders no longer arrive twice.
- Fixes for item sheets, messages above the bar and opening Household settings.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-30

A few small fixes.

- Delete your account and Dinner Dough is also removed from your Sign in with Apple list. Apple asks you to confirm once.
- The budget on Today and Shop no longer shows the full amount for a moment before your spending loads.
- Tap a meal on Today to open its recipe.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-29

New: one household budget. Set one amount a month for everything your household spends, with rent or mortgage and fuel as their own kinds, and see on Today what is left. Also: hide amounts with one tap, merge two items into one, edit or remove a purchase, bring fuel across when you import from Ledger, and a tidier Stock screen on iPad.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-28

Fixes and small improvements:

• Remove an item you no longer use, from its sheet. Undo is there if you tap by mistake.
• Change an item's unit, and restock in the unit you bought it in.
• Add missing items from your week plan now sets the usual unit and amount.
• Bought all asks about each item first, so nothing is logged by accident.
• Bringing in your old records shows each item, asks "Same item?" for names that are close, and brings your week plan.
• Meal ideas fit properly on iPad.
