I would have kept using it, but it started glitching out in several areas and it is no longer supported in any way. I tried contacting support and the email was bounced back to me. Any glitches are there to stay. We did take the concept though and apply it with a google sheet instead. ### 2/5 — Doesn’t update a recurring gig’s due date? *2024-08-19* Had a feeling that the app was not there yet, the most recent feedback entries confirm this…. Too bad that the book message is amazing and people are onboard but then it fails in the execution with the app. I would think that the founder that states that he is a millionaire and is teaching kids the same principles would be able to invest in developing an app that works and makes it simple to get a family going with their system. Will have to figure out how to this with our family manually vs getting frustrated with the app. ### 2/5 — $ transfers have stopped completely with no warning! *2024-06-06* I was so excited about this app. Like others, my kids did not enjoy the text heavy games and clunky operations. While the concepts are great, they are only great if the kids are engaged. It became solely a payment system which would have been much simpler to do through our own bank where the kids could reimburse us if we had to pay for something and they didn’t have their card. Last week my kid tried to make a purchase with their debit card and it wouldn’t work. I emailed customer service and was told there was an issue with the bank transfers with their vendor and they weren’t sure when it would be functional again. A few days later I get a message saying “they are currently transitioning to a virtual ledger system”, but we have decided to go in a different direction. Another reviewer said (and I agree)…it seems we were paying to beta test the app. That is incredibly frustrating. While I have had good success with hearing back from customer service, we do not want to continue using this service. We have cancelled our subscription. I have been told I will receive a check in the mail. Which is odd because all our transfers were electronic to begin with. But I will update when/if we receive our $ back in hand. ### 3/5 — Could be great but needs work *2024-03-15* We have been using GravyStack For a bit now. It is definitely motivating for the kids to get them involved in household chores. That part has been great. The educational part is geared towards older kids. My second grader was frustrated and stopped using the app entirely. I let him use my phone to mark off his gigs. I like how the app is laid out but there are a bunch of annoyances. It is very slow to load. Text entry and such is also very annoying and awkward (though don’t use that often… mainly when having to message support or create/edit gigs). One of the biggest frustrations for us is that one child received his card while the other has not (well over a month). Hoping the company gets this all resolved and improved… Meanwhile, we are also evaluating some of the other choices out there that seem to have better apps and more reliable card delivery. ### 2/5 — Please invest in developers *2024-02-26, version 1.12.14* Love everything about the vision and the philosophy laid out by the founder. It’s simply not a well developed app. We’re sticking with it for now, but are really hoping to see more intuitive functionality, less glitches, quicker load times, visibility into kids notes, etc. ### 2/5 — Can’t transfer out of save *2024-02-15, version 1.12.14* I like the idea, but the app is super clunky and now that my kids have money in save, it’s impossible to move back to spend no matter what I do. Really wanted it to work, but also haven’t even been able to see app without entering a bunch of info- and it won’t even let me do that. Keeps restarting. As a parent, it takes a bit to get it set up and there are a lot of friction points and bugs in the app. Once I finally got in to the app and let my daughter have Addit, she’s 12 years old. She was not interested at all. The game play moves very slow, and it’s heavily text bass end, although it tries to be interesting, it feels very out of date like a CD ROM game back from the early 90s. I applied them on their efforts to make some thing engaging for kids and teach financial competency, but I don’t think they quit hit the mark. ### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work long enough to set up *2023-09-29, version 1.7.1* Keeps glitching and going blank and now I can’t figure out how to unsubscribe too bad seems like a cool idea ### 2/5 — Link accounts issue *2023-09-26* Spent 20 minutes registering for nothing. When I linked my bank account via plead app, and I went ahead to try to add $50 for the parent wallet it kep saying “insufficient funds” which is not the case, I tried to re-enter the bank account but there’s no option to do that, can’t do any else on the app when I sign in, because it wants to me select an amount for the parent wallet but it’s not recognizing any funds and there’s nothing else to do. I love the idea of teaching kids financial literacy however as the app provides nothing that couldn’t be done for free it feels hypocritical to spend over $300 per year to teach kids this way. The customer support is sticky giving refunds, even for just one month. But the reason why I am leaving the review is because after sending around 7 emails to cancel my subscription since December (as per instructions) I still being charged. ### 1/5 — “Identity Verification Initialization Failed” *2023-11-22* Let me say that I heard about the app through the creator on the Money Mondays app. You could hear the passion in his voice and everything about the app is right up the alley that I would like to expose my daughter to teach her the valuable lessons I never got the chance to learn growing up. However, the app is INSANELY glitchy at the moment. After about 30 minutes of fidgeting I ran into a roadblock I can’t get around: “identity verification initialization failed” on the drivers license and social security check screen. It doesn’t even give me the opportunity to do anything. The error pops up when I click “Continue” with no other options. I am currently running the latest version of IOS on an iPhone 14 Pro. Easy to create gigs, expectations, and expenses for my kids. The PDF feature is phenomenal and organizes it for each of my kids. I can just print it out and place it on our family board. My parents were young when they had me and I had to learn all this stuff the hard way. I met one of the founders at an event and spoke to him about this and loved the concept. I just started using it and it’s exciting to start teaching my son how to use it and to earn money. The app is a little clunky but they are working away to update it and make it better for us.
