## What is Dino Kids Learn?

Dino Kids is an all-in-one learning app for children from age 3: drawing, colouring, handwriting, Vietnamese phonics, maths, English, Japanese and music — free, no ads, no in-app purchases.

WHY IT IS FREE

Dino Kids is what Digi Dinos Joint Stock Company gives back to the community, not a source of revenue. We want every family to have one more way to teach a child without weighing up the cost, and parents to have more time to play and learn beside them.

No subscription, nothing to buy inside, no advertising and no third-party analytics — so no child's data is being sold either. Every lesson is open the first time a child taps it; Digi Dinos carries the cost.

THE PARENT'S OWN VOICE

• Record your own voice for the lessons, across all 1,878 sounds, syllables and words, so a child reads in the accent of home.
• Record as many or as few as you like; the rest plays in the synthesised voice. Praise too, in your own phrases.

MUSIC — PIANO FROM ZERO

• 27 lessons in 6 stages, from first touch to five-finger songs
• One octave at a time, so every key is wide enough for a small finger; a wrong key still sounds
• 100 songs in a grid: 76 written for this app, 24 folk and classical tunes with their origins named
• Notes fall down the exact key column they name, as tall as they are long — a child sees where a finger goes
• A three-step tempo button (tortoise, hare, horse), and free play across three octaves

THE ALPHABET
• One screen, three languages: 29 Vietnamese cards, 26 ABC cards, 104 hiragana and 46 katakana
• Tap a card to hear the letter, then a word — "ay … apple" — with an emoji for pre-readers

ENGLISH
• Counting 0–20, each card showing the quantity three ways: numeral, dots, English word

DRAWING AND COLOURING
• Line art across 16 themes, outlines thick and closed so colour stays in
• Free drawing on blank paper: pencil, brush, glitter pen, 34 stampable shapes
• Dot-to-dot: drag across the grid, any loop that closes fills itself; 100 puzzles
• 12 colours for younger children, 36 for older. Paint-style mixing: blue + yellow make green
• Finger, Apple Pencil or stylus, with palm rejection; 30 steps of undo

HANDWRITING
• 275 characters with stroke order: Vietnamese and English letters, tone marks, digits, kana
• Scored stroke by stroke, showing only the stroke to redo

VIETNAMESE PHONICS
• Grade 1 curriculum: 40 sounds, 6 tones, 145 rimes, 609 syllables
• The child assembles onset + rime + tone, and the app reads each step aloud

JAPANESE
• Hiragana and katakana: 150 characters with stroke order
• JLPT vocabulary and grammar, N5–N1: 387 words, 81 patterns, meanings in three languages

MATHS AND PRE-SCHOOL
• Number recognition, counting, comparing, sums within 10, shapes, pre-school work

THINKING AND MEMORY
• Mazes: 100 levels, each with exactly one way out, the grid growing with the child
• Join the numbers: 100 puzzles joining 1–2–3 into a picture, each number spoken
• Flip cards: 100 matching rounds using 193 national flags, each named aloud

PLAYTIME
• Finish a lesson and a sticker drops into the bag — 72 across 6 sets. Enough lessons earn a ticket to one of seven games
• A Dino companion hatches from an egg and grows with the stars, plus 40 badges

PARENTAL CONTROLS
• The parental area sits at the top of Settings, behind a multiplication gate
• Parents unlock lessons per child, set how many earn a ticket, and control the microphone
• Several child profiles, each with its own gallery and progress
• Reading practice is scored on device — the voice never leaves it, and is off by default
• Delete your account in the app, with no waiting period

No account needed: open the app and every lesson works. An account only carries data between devices.

Every touch target is sized for a 3-year-old's finger, and a child never scores zero stars — what is not yet done is an outline, not a red X.

If it helps in your house, tell another family — that is how something built for the community reaches more children.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.8 — 2026-09-27

FAMILY VOICE FOR ENGLISH AND JAPANESE TOO

• Parents pick Vietnamese, English or Japanese and record the lesson audio in their own voice, whatever language the app is set to.
• A continuous recording mode made for one-handed phone use: one item per screen, one tap, and the app stops, plays it back and moves on by itself.
• Upper and lower case that sound the same are recorded once, and items already recorded in another group are reused automatically.
• A "Use family voice" switch returns to the built-in voice without deleting any recordings.
• New recordings reach your child's device within minutes.

A TIDIER HOME SCREEN

• Playtime has its own strip on the home screen: one tap and your child is in.
• Vietnamese, Japanese and English now share one "Learn languages" tile; your child picks a language from three big flag cards.
• A child's name is now a single field that shows correctly in every language.

FLIP CARDS: TIMER AND PERSONAL BEST

• Each level has a stopwatch and a flip counter; the app remembers each child's fastest time and fewest flips, so there is always a number of their own to beat.
• Every level opens freshly shuffled: leaving halfway and coming back no longer shows the same board.
• Letter bubbles: younger children now get a target letter too, and only the bubble with that letter scores.

### 1.2.7 — 2026-09-26

LETTER BUBBLES: 30 SECONDS AND A PERSONAL BEST

• Each round of Letter Bubbles now lasts 30 seconds, with a countdown and a counter of the bubbles your child popped correctly.
• The app keeps each child's best score. Beat it and they see "New record!"; otherwise they see the number to aim for next time.
• Japanese bubbles get two buttons, あ and ア, to switch between hiragana and katakana, even in the middle of a round.

### 1.2.6 — 2026-09-25

LETTER BUBBLES SPEAK YOUR CHILD'S LANGUAGE

• Playtime, Letter Bubbles: with the app set to English, the bubbles now show a to z and read each letter in English, instead of Vietnamese letters and voice.
• Number bubbles (after a Math lesson) read the numbers in the language you chose: Vietnamese, Japanese or English.
• Music: songs a parent added now show their full title.

### 1.2.5 — 2026-09-25

PLAYABLE ALONE, EVEN BEFORE YOUR CHILD CAN READ

• Word cards in the Vietnamese and Math lessons now show the whole word instead of cutting it off.
• Tap any word card to hear it read aloud: shape names, letters (read by their sound, not their name), numbers, sums and words. Picture cards and groups of things to count stay silent on purpose, so your child still finds the answer.
• Finish a lesson and a button takes you straight to the next one: Vietnamese, Math, JLPT and piano songs. If the next lesson is not on the device yet, it downloads and starts.
• Coloring: after saving, "Next picture" shows a small preview of the next picture in the same topic, or tap "Keep coloring" to stay.
• Music: add your own songs from a MusicXML file. Scores with several staves keep them all: your child picks right hand, left hand or both, and the piano plays the rest.
• Fixed text that was cut off on iPhone screens.

### 1.2.4 — 2026-09-20

NEW — Add your own pictures

• An "Add a picture" button at the top of the Art page, behind the parent gate: take a photo of your child's drawing, or pick a line drawing already on the device.
• The app turns the photo into black lines on white paper, so a shot taken at an angle, in dim light or with a shadow across the page still becomes something your child can colour and flood-fill.
• The topic defaults to "Other", so you can pick a picture and tap Add straight away.
• Pictures stay on this device only: never uploaded, never synced, never shared. You can delete them any time, and anything your child already coloured stays in My art room.
