## What is Dinologue?

Dinologue is the encyclopedia of Mesozoic life: dinosaurs, pterosaurs and marine reptiles from 252 to 66 million years ago, built on real scientific data and made to explore.

It's free, with no ads, no accounts and no tracking. Everything except the news works offline, and your data never leaves your device.

EXPLORE 2,465 SPECIES
Search by name or country, then filter by period, diet and clade, or sort by age and size. Every species has its own page, with:
- A skeleton display, plus a size comparison with a human
- How to say its name, with audio, and often what the name means
- Its diet, plus length, mass or wingspan where known
- Where and when it lived, on a deep-time locator
- Its family tree, close relatives and the species it lived alongside
- What scientists agree on, and what's still debated

SEE WHAT'S REALLY BEEN FOUND
Fossil evidence cards show which bones are known, partial or missing on the skeleton. Tap a region to see what was found and where the record comes from. Dinologue tells you what's known, never more.

TRAVEL BACK IN TIME
The fossil map plots fossil sites around the world, colored by period, on an offline map that needs no connection. Drag the time scrubber to see only the sites from a chosen moment, then switch on Ancient Earth: the continents shift to their positions at that time, and each fossil site moves with them.

The Timeline takes you through the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous. Pick any moment to see who was alive, and read what we know about the two mass extinctions, who survived them, and what's still being debated.

FOLLOW THE LATEST DISCOVERIES
A news feed brings together paleontology stories from trusted sources, with links to the species they mention. Save articles to read later.

TEST WHAT YOU KNOW
Play a 10-question quiz across seven question types: when it lived, how big it was, where it was found, what it ate, which group a skeleton belongs to, who lived alongside whom, and which came first. Every answer teaches you something, with a link to the species page.

Come back for the Daily Challenge: five questions, the same for everyone each day. Build a streak, beat your best score, and see which topics to brush up on.

BUILT ON REAL SCIENCE
Dinologue's data comes from the Paleobiology Database, Smithsonian Open Access, the Biodiversity Heritage Library, Natural Earth and the EarthByte plate tectonic model. Sources are cited throughout, and estimates are always labeled.

DESIGNED FOR EVERYONE
- Light and dark modes
- Supports text sizes up to 200%
- Screen reader support
- Reduce Motion support
- Readable contrast throughout

Whether you're a lifelong dinosaur fan, a student or just curious, Dinologue puts the age of dinosaurs in your pocket.
