## What is Dipply?

A cheap stock and a good business are not the same thing. Dipply tells you which one
you are looking at.

Every company gets a quality score from 0 to 100, built from its profitability, its
cash generation, and its debt — and ranked against the companies it actually competes
with, not against the market as a whole. An energy company and a software company top
very different ladders, so Dipply scores them on their own. Banks, insurers and REITs
are left unscored rather than judged by a rubric written for operating businesses.

THREE QUESTIONS, THREE SCREENS

* QUALITY — Is this a business worth owning? Margins, cash flow, and leverage, scored
against its industry, with plain-language flags for the things that should give you
pause: a dividend larger than the cash flow behind it, years of negative free cash
flow, debt that the balance sheet cannot carry. The card names the industry it was
ranked against and the year of the filings it read, and says when the same company
looks different measured against the whole market.

* VALUATION — Is it cheap right now? The multiples that matter, each one explained on
tap, measured against the company's own history rather than a rule of thumb — and the
price read against what the company is expected to earn next, not only what it already
earned.

* TIMING — Has it actually dipped? The Dip Score, a 0-100 reading of how far a stock is
trading below its own trend, with a heads-up when an earnings report is days away or
has just landed.

WHAT ELSE IS IN HERE

* ALERTS — Dipply checks after the market closes and tells you when a stock has dipped,
so a dip does not depend on you remembering to look. Alerts on market-wide dips are
free. Premium adds the stocks on your own watchlist, at a level you set. Tap an alert
and it opens the stock it names.

* TODAY'S DIPS AND SPIKES — The stocks that moved, with the business behind each move
named, and filterable down to the ones that pass on quality.

* WATCHLIST — Keep the companies you are following in one place, with their scores.

* FINANCIALS — Revenue, earnings, cash flow, dividends, and share count, charted over
the years, so you can see the direction rather than one quarter's headline.

* SEARCH — Any listed company, in a couple of taps.

DIPPLY PREMIUM

The free version gives you the full analysis on any company you look up. Premium adds
an unlimited watchlist, alerts on the stocks in it, the complete dip and spike lists
rather than the first ten, quality filtering on both lists, and removes ads.

Dipply is a research tool, not an advisor. Nothing in the app is investment advice, and
a score is a starting point for your own work rather than a substitute for it.

### 5/5 — Simple and actually useful

*2026-09-02*

Really liking this app so far. It makes checking stocks way easier without having to dig through a ton of numbers and charts. I especially like the quality score and the dip score — they give me a quick idea of whether a stock is actually worth looking into. Definitely a handy app to have when researching stocks.

### 5/5 — Clean and simple

*2026-09-01*

As a short term investor dipply has helped me find opportunities I might now have found before. Not just that but it gives me reasoning behind why those opportunities are there, it has been super helpful finding stock dips recently and has made me some good money lately lol

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! I'm happy that you like my app. I can definitely make it more clear how the dip score is calculated. Look for it in the next update.

### 3/5 — Can’t review this

*2026-08-28*

This is not a reviewable app because in order to test it I have to spend money and the app itself really doesn’t look like much care went into making it.

### 5/5 — Great information

*2026-08-23*

I'm normally horrible at picking out stocks, probably because I don't do any research. But this app is great because it shows me the information right up front to help me make better decisions.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad my app is helping you out.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2 — 2026-09-03

Dipply 2.2 stops waiting for you to open it.

ALERTS
Dipply now checks after the market closes and tells you when a stock has dipped, so a
dip does not depend on you remembering to look.

Alerts on market-wide dips are free, and come at one level: the point where a dip is
worth a look, rather than every stock that drifted down that day. Premium adds alerts
on the stocks on your own watchlist — spikes as well as dips there, because those are
stocks you may actually hold — at one of three levels, from only the deepest signals to
anything worth watching.

Tap an alert and it opens the stock it names. There is no account to set up: the
watchlist stays on your device, and so does the decision about what is worth
interrupting you for.

QUIET BY DESIGN
A stock that stays down alerts you once rather than every night, and becomes news again
only if it recovers and falls back. A day that moves a lot of your watchlist at once
arrives as one notification instead of twenty.

SMALLER, CLEARER ADS
You told us the ads took up too much room, and that it was not always obvious which
part of a screen was an ad and which was Dipply. The larger ad format is now a little
over half its old height, so two stock rows clear the fold where none did before. Every
ad now sits in its own card with a marked label, so it reads as an ad before you have
read a word of it.

ALSO
* The Dip Score explanation now says how the score is actually reached: the case for a
stock and the case against it are counted separately, and the stronger one sets the
direction. A high score means the indicators agree, not that one of them is shouting.

### 2.1 — 2026-08-04

Dipply 2.1 rebuilds the analysis around one question the app never answered before: is
this a good business?

QUALITY SCORES
Every company now carries a 0-100 quality score built from profitability, cash
generation, and debt — and ranked against its own industry rather than the whole
market. The card tells you which companies it was ranked against, because that is what
the score means, and dates itself to the annual filings it read so a verdict cannot
quietly go stale. Banks, insurers and REITs stay unscored: the rubric was written for
operating businesses, and it should say so rather than guess.

WARNING FLAGS
Dividends larger than the cash flow behind them, sustained negative free cash flow,
extreme leverage, negative equity, revenue in decline, profit that is not coming from
operations, and dividend cuts and suspensions are all called out by name.

REORGANIZED AROUND WHAT YOU ARE ASKING
The analysis screens are now split by question — Quality, Valuation, and Timing —
instead of by how deep you wanted to go.

WHAT THE PRICE EXPECTS
Valuation now reads the price against what analysts think the company will earn, next
to what it already earned, so you can see the growth the market has priced in.

EARNINGS ARE COMING
Timing warns you when a report is days away or has just landed — the one event that
moves a price further than anything the Dip Score can see.

FILTER THE LISTS BY QUALITY
Today's dips and spikes can be narrowed to businesses that pass on fundamentals, and
every row names the company behind the move.

ALSO
* Every valuation multiple is explained on tap.
* Financials charts for revenue, earnings, cash flow, dividends, and share count.
* Peer groups now come from a standard industry classification, so a company is ranked
against the businesses it actually competes with.
* The earnings outlook and analyst estimate revisions appear alongside the flags.
* Timing charts show twice as much history.
* A year a company did not report now reads as a gap in the charts rather than as a
  step.
* Fixed a growth signal that could read declining earnings as a bargain.
* Fixed a bug that could drop an active subscription when a subscriber declined an
  upgrade.
