This is a big problem for me compared to other collage apps. Now I need to select pics and when I do, they never show to put into the frames. My ONLY complaint though is the lack of an option to reset or clear the “recent” tab without uninstalling/reinstalling the app. What seems like such a basic feature missing, it’s a big bummer. I understand the app apparently hasn’t been updated in some years, but this is a feature I would love to see. Pretty sad for a paid app. ### 1/5 — Great when it works, but seldom does *2025-05-18, version 10.1.1* When this app works, it does a nice job. But the interface is very finicky, and it often refuses to let me add photos that I want to use. For example, I just finished putting two photos together and it looked great. But then I realized that one of the photos was not quite the one I wanted, so I went back to change it. That’s when Diptic started misbehaving. I wasted a lot of time trying to get the correct photo into place but it would never let me do it. Loses pics selected and now gets hung up. That’s too bad, because it was an excellent photo collage app and did not require ridiculous subscriptions. I remember once there was an app called vidstitch that did this and it was so simple and intuitive and for years i’ve been trying to find an app that does that and keep running into apps like this that claim to do it but don’t. so annoying ### 1/5 — Really disappointed *2024-12-15, version 10.1.1* I used a free version of this app years ago and I was really happy with it so I thought I would purchase this version now when I wanted to do some clever things with videos I have of my granddaughters. Unfortunately, after paying for this version, I was really disappointed. First, It crashed my phone while I was trying to make a project. Secondly, when I finally got a project done, it was very dark and purple, and didn’t carry over the color. The second project I tried to put together never processed. Unfortunately it seems not maintained anymore. The photo picker is broken for albums. It shows the album contents for a second only until it reverts to show the whole photo stream. Have tried resetting but no pictures are in the frames. The interface is clean, easy to understand, and creating collages is quick and painless. I especially like the variety of layouts and the ability to customize borders, spacing, and image placement without feeling overwhelmed by options. It’s been around for years and remains reliable, which is something that’s surprisingly rare with photo apps. Whether you’re making a simple side-by-side comparison or a more creative collage, Diptic gets the job done well. Its UI encourages seeing one's artwork from a different point of view. The app hasn't been updated in a while but is still working well on my 3rd Gen 12.9" iPad Pro running the latest IOS 18. You can change all the borders and colors. It only cost 2.99.
