## What is Direct2Go?

Direct2Go helps you find places you can actually use: wheelchair toilets, step-free entrances, automatic doors, lifts, ramps, disabled parking, adult changing places, accessible showers, hearing loops and many more features.

You are not looking for "a restaurant". You are looking for a restaurant you can get into, with a toilet you can use.

THE MAP
• Places around you, with their accessibility features.
• A search radius you set yourself, and filters by category and feature: only places with a step-free entrance, for example.
• Tap the crosshair in the middle of the map to pick an exact spot, even without a pin — then share it or navigate to it.

SEARCH
• By name, address or keyword, also by voice.
• Find AED, Find toilet, Find disabled parking: you do not need to open Direct2Go first — press and hold the Direct2Go icon on your Home Screen and pick one. You get the nearest registered place straight away, with a clock direction and distance, on the map.

WITHOUT INTERNET
• AEDs and toilets are stored on your iPhone, so Find AED and Find toilet answer even without a connection, with the date of the data shown.
• Under Offline data you can download any other category and see how much space it takes. The app keeps everything current once a day, only with internet. You decide what stays.
• The map background does need internet; without a connection the list becomes the main screen.

DETAILS AND ACTIONS
• Four tabs per place: About, Facilities, Hours and Ratings.
• Opening hours with live status: "Closes in 25 min", "Opens tomorrow at 09:00". The whole week in one table.
• Ratings with a star breakdown, like the App Store.
• Navigate to or share a place with Apple Maps or Google Maps — your choice.
• Add a missing place or correct a wrong detail.

WHAT'S AROUND ME
• Pick a category and a distance up to 500 metres; the app warns you as you get close — with a sound, a spoken sentence or vibration only.
• Alerts name the category, a clock direction and the distance: "Toilet — at 2 o'clock — 80 m".
• Works walking, in a wheelchair, on a bike and in the car. Pocket mode: phone in your pocket, screen locked, alerts keep coming.

GPX ROUTES
• Import a GPX file from any route planner, or share it straight to Direct2Go.
• "My routes" keeps your rides: distance, climb, estimated time, elevation profile and waypoints.
• The route you had open is back on the map the next time you open the app.
• Optional spoken guidance on the way, with the screen off if you like.
• Filter places along the route: a toilet three kilometres off your path is no use to you.

DIRECT2GO ROUTES
• Download routes checked by a person; you see who, when and what was surveyed: surface, width, kerbs, gates, benches.
• What is not listed was not checked — which is not the same as "absent".

FOLLOW ME
• Share a link with the people close to you: they see your position, progress and estimated arrival in a browser, without an app or account. You decide when it starts and stops; nothing is kept afterwards.

EVERY DAY
• Home address and a "Home" button: one tap to head home.
• Choose which voice the app uses and how fast it speaks.
• iPhone and iPad, light and dark mode, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver.
• A complete guide is in the app, under About.

PRIVACY
Direct2Go contains no trackers and no analytics. Your location is used to show places around you and to guide you — it is sent to a server only if you start "Follow me" yourself, and it disappears when you stop. Sign in with Apple is optional.

AN HONEST NOTE
The accessibility data comes from people, not from an algorithm. A feature may be wrong or may have changed since it was recorded, and offline data can be older than you think — which is why its date is shown. Report a mistake in the app and it is corrected for everyone. For routes, the app never promises that a whole route will suit you.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 27.0.4 — 2026-10-01

This update is about the list beside the map, which sometimes lagged behind what you did — and about your route, which now stays put.

• Your route is remembered. Close the app with a route open and it is back on the map next time you start, with "My routes" open. Close the route yourself and it does not come back.
• Selecting a route now also loads the places around it. Picking a route from "My routes", importing a GPX or using the route button moved the map, but left the list on the old area.
• Opening a place no longer reshuffles the list. The map's move to that place was read as you panning, so it searched again — and on closing, the place sat at the top at 0 metres with every distance around it changed.
• After you close a place, the highlighted row stays in view, even if the list was rebuilt in the meantime or comes back at a different height.
• The "My Location" button now always refreshes the list, returns it to the top and leaves no stale highlight behind.
• Opening a place switches off location following, so the location button no longer looks active while the map is looking somewhere else.
• The route button on the map no longer looks larger than the buttons next to it once a route is loaded.

### 27.0.3 — 2026-09-30

• Without internet. AEDs and toilets now live on your iPhone. Find AED and Find toilet answer even without a connection and tell you the date of the data. Under Settings → Offline data the app keeps them current every day (only with internet), you can download any other category, see how much space it takes and switch AEDs or toilets off if you prefer. The map background itself still needs internet.
• A new place page. Four tabs: About, Facilities, Hours and Ratings. Tap a tab and the panel moves with you; About takes you back to the standard view.
• Opening hours with live status: "Open now until 17:30", "Closes in 25 min" or "Opens tomorrow at 09:00". The whole week sits in a tidy table, public holidays get a warning and remarks like "by appointment" appear under Please note.
• Ratings like the App Store: a large average, a bar per star and the count. You can see them without signing in.
• New category: Train Station.
• Navigation: Direct2Go no longer remembers your choice between Apple Maps and Google Maps and asks every time (only when Google Maps is installed). "Home" asks now too, and picks walking or driving by distance.
• Calmer and bigger: buttons are 48 points tall with the same corners everywhere, the detail panel is more compact and the offline message fits on two lines. Address and opening hours are easier to read.
• Fixed: 's-Hertogenbosch and other towns with a hyphen never found their parking policy and showed a "Data error". Going from Dark back to Automatic left the app dark. Opening a website does more than before and tells you when an address is wrong.
• User guide: a new part about getting around without internet, and you can now search the guide.

### 27.0.2 — 2026-09-21

• Choose your own voice. Under Design & Audio → Voice you now find every voice your device has for your language. Tap one and you hear a sample sentence straight away. "Automatic" shows which voice the app picks by itself. Enhanced and Premium voices are downloaded in Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices.
• That voice is used for everything the app says: turns along a route and "Toilet — at 2 o'clock — 80 m" alike. Delete the voice or switch language, and Direct2Go picks the best other voice by itself. Never silence.
• Voice and speaking speed no longer sit behind the Hands-free navigation switch; they are under "Design & Audio" (formerly "Design"). So if you only use "What's around me", you can reach them too.
• Easier to read: address, opening hours and distance in the list of places are darker in light mode and lighter in dark mode. They also stay readable over the satellite map.
• New category: Healthcare Shop.
• The On-screen time you choose under "What's around me" now applies to all of those alerts, including the answers to Find AED, Find toilet and Find disabled parking. Note: AED alerts used to stay until you dismissed them. They now disappear after your chosen time (5 seconds by default). To keep the old behaviour, choose "Until I dismiss".
• Fixed: "What's around me" went silent in pocket mode. With the screen locked and the phone in your pocket, the alerts are back.
• Fixed: switching from Dark back to System kept the app dark until a restart. It now changes straight away.
• Website: a web address saved without "https://" now opens. If the saved address is incomplete, the app tells you instead of doing nothing, and on a place you can edit it takes you straight to Edit.
• Call and Rate Direct2Go open more directly. If the App Store link fails, the review page opens in the browser.

### 27.0.1 — 2026-09-15

• "What's around me" reworked: switching category or changing the alert distance triggers a fresh announcement right away, the distance now goes up to 500 metres, and every place is announced once even at cycling or driving speed.
• One choice for the audible alert: Sound, Speech or Silent. Vibration stays a separate switch and is now reliable, including in the Silent setting.
• Alerts now name only the category and the distance ("Toilet — 80 m").
• New AED category, plus a Defibrillator feature for places that have one. Press and hold the app icon for "Find AED": the app names the nearest registered AED. With Speech on, "AED" is pronounced "defibrillator". The answer now ends with "Call for help first", and an AED's detail screen opens with the same reminder: calling comes before fetching. If the nearest one is over 500 m away the alert adds "That is far" — 500 m away is a kilometre on foot. If none was found, the text names the radius searched instead of saying "nearby". The spoken answer repeats once, and is dropped the moment you leave the app to call. An AED's detail screen now carries a "Call 112" button — only in countries where 112 is the official number; iPhone asks you to confirm before dialling.
• New Police Station category. The amusement-park category was renamed in Dutch.
• Voice: the app now automatically uses the best voice installed on your iPhone (Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content). New speech rate under Settings → Route guidance → Voice; it also applies to proximity alerts.
• The standard map is sharp and high-contrast again. If you prefer the toned-down look, turn on "Muted map" under Display.
• Faster start: pins appear sooner after a cold launch.
• iPad: the detail panel is shorter and can be dragged in height; the route button responds to a single tap.
• A notification that does not fit on one line now expands by itself.
• The counter shows "50+" when there are more places than the app loads at once.
• Various reliability, privacy and error-handling improvements, including a GPX with broken elevation data no longer crashing the app.

### 26.9.92 — 2026-07-07

What's new in 26.9.92

• New — Live distance and direction: in the results list, the distance to each place now updates as you move, and a compass arrow points the real-world way to walk there. The same live distance and arrow now appear on a place's detail card too.
• Improved — Simpler parking info: the accessible-parking screen is cleaner and easier to scan. It shows the town, a direct button to the municipality's official parking website, and the ParkerenPlus app information where it applies.
• Improved: the map now opens straight to your last location, without the brief jump at startup.
• Improved: you're notified right away with a short message the moment your internet connection drops.
• Fixed: after a search, closing and reopening the app now brings you back to the place you were viewing instead of jumping to your current location. The proximity alert stays quiet until you return to your own location.
• Various bug fixes and polish — including a slightly brighter pocket mode and a clearer category selector.

Thanks for using Direct2Go!
