You can't customize anything, including the colour, or even pick the lists you'd like to see in it. I enjoy this app. It’s useful to me. However, it kind of erks me to pay for something that hasn’t been updated for over a year. Please update the app. ### 4/5 — Great app, needs a Print option *2022-08-18* This app works very well, syncing between iPhone and Mac is seamless, the option to print or save a PDF of completed directives would be very nice to have. ### 4/5 — Pretty good, needs some feature fixes *2022-02-15* Would be really great if the notes/details fields were bigger and could be displayed better on the screen. I like to put instructions or a paragraph note in some of these and the text is cut off in display mode (edit mode too but then you can sort of scroll sideways in them) ### 3/5 — Has huge potential *2022-01-22* I’ve enjoyed this app so far, but there are certainly a few bugs. The sync feature seems to be selective between my devices, only getting about 85% of the tasks synced. The detail field in each directive is very short, and not expandable to list out more than a line of text. No ability to add photos. Massive massive potential here though - love the design and simplicity. Love the ability to add buttons to take me to websites/map/form/instructions/etc. Developer’s website is largely empty, with not a lot of help to be found. Wish there could be more default options to start you off and running too. Would like to see the simplicity and versatility of this app go head to head with the new Consumer Reports app Unkept. Excited for what’s to come. ### 3/5 — Covers the Basics but Weak Scheduling *2021-08-23* I really like this program except for the scheduling intervals. There is not an option to make something due on the last day of the month. No quartely option either. I hope the developer enhances the sceduling a bit more and I would give it a much higher rating. ### 3/5 — This is such an obvious functionality... *2021-07-08* ...that I can't believe it needed to be created as its own specialized app. I tried to use Things, Evernote, and Apple Calendar, but they all required too much tinkering to work simply. This app does that. Feature requests for future iterations: 1. Sync capability with Apple Calendar and Reminders. 2. Ability to sort by category (and sub categories), not just dates. Autos>Subaru; Autos>Toyota. Home>Hot Tub Maintenance, etc. ### 4/5 — Good Home Task Organizer *2021-04-23* Bought a house a year ago and realizing how much there is to do (!) every season. This app helps you remember all things you need to do when spring comes! The app would be even better if I could easily also add all the “one-time” to-do’s (non-repeating). That is not an option when setting up an item. Easy enough to delete the item, but would be good if that were built in! ### 3/5 — Has Potential *2020-10-30* It’s a nice app with a good UI. However there are a few things that prevent me from purchasing the app. First of all they are using their own servers (cloud) to sync. Why do developers want to reinvent the wheel and each have their own cloud instead of using iCloud when their apps only run on Apple devices? It just adds extra expenses and puts our data at risk. Next, the date selection for each item is fairly basic. Maybe the pro version is different but it would be nice to have more flexibility to choose when an item happens. For example, the first Saturday of the month every four months. Lastly, why is this a subscription, other than having to pay for the cloud service. I’d consider buying it but there is no way I’m renting it. ### 4/5 — Pretty good - just one issue *2020-09-20* This app is great with a lot of potential. I just have a syncing issue with one device (iPhone) but it works well with my Macs and my iPad. The concept is excellent and it is cheap. It works well and, once I have the sync issue sorted (I have emailed the developer and he assures me he is on the case), which I am sure I will, I will use it even more. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No Longer Supported? *2025-08-01, version 1.3.1* Has not been updated in four years. Don’t think it is being developed anymore. ### 1/5 — Had potential but… *2025-02-02* Could be a great app, suitable for many different business if it was more customisable. I emailed the developer regarding this but as of yet no response . This came close to what I was looking for in an app but due to no response and the time past since the last update I’m guessing the developer isn’t bothered with it. I’m looking into developing something similar using AI assistance like Adalo . ### 1/5 — Still broken *2021-05-06* When this app was first released, it exhibited a serious annoyance: old, deleted items would still show up in your notifications. That is still true today, a year later. Deleted and won't be trying it again, since this dev clearly doesn't want people to use or pay for this app. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2021-03-16, version 1.3.1* The app continues to show things are due that I have completed. It worked at first, but after 3-4 months, wouldn’t update the to-do roster. ### 1/5 — Achtung! *2021-01-28* Vorsicht, die Beschreibung täuscht: die App kostet nicht 4,49 € sondern ist ein ABO für 4,49 € p. a. (darum auch keine eigenständige Pro Version). This is a decent idea but after losing all my stuff trying to get sync working I’m not willing to re-enter it all for a next round. Deleted, unsubscribed. Dear creator, can you please make notifications setting to nag me every day when a task is over due. Also an option for every day after my reminder. For example right now it warns me 1 week in advance, but i want it to harass me every day after as well. That way tasks get done. This App takes all our repeating tasks and de-clutters my reminders, just displaying them when needed. It is shared with my partner, so we can both see and update the developer is also responsive. But I appreciate the value of this subscription model. There are so many apps with many bells and whistles that want such a high sub. Man kann damit wirklich wichtige aber auch kleinere Routinen einstellen, ohne die im Kalender pflege zu müssen. ### 5/5 — Exactly What I Needed *2020-11-08* This app replaces an old ToDo app, Notes, and hard copy sticky notes. I used the free version for a week and asked the developer a couple “pre-sales” questions. He was extremely responsive and answered all my questions. After a few days, I signed up for he Pro version which is worth it to have all my reminders and sync’d across all my devices. You guys got me for life. ### 5/5 — Nice App *2020-09-28* Directive is a great app for keeping track of things that need to be done, on a regular basis. It’s perfect for reminding you to do things like vehicle oil changes, driver’s license renewal, dog medications and more. Then keeps track of when you did them. It also allows you to add notes and information like sizes and websites links, and has a Mac version, that it syncs perfectly with.
