Amazing detail, fail safe trip recording and knowing where points of interest and toilets are is amazing with a kid. ### 5/5 — Best off road mapping yet *2021-07-10* I have tried a few of the others, and dirt map is the easiest one to use, plus the mapping seems seamless. Tested the functionality & learnt that while you do get to download and can access this download map when offline, it is not anywhere as detailed as when online!!! I use this app but would prefer if the app had greater detail and some mapping basics. Some examples: Lacks a legend and info such as contour step information. Hard to get info on track names by tapping on or highlighting with centre marker. Thank you. ### 4/5 — It’s ok - honest review *2022-10-09* The app is clunky and you have to pay for features that are free and less detailed than Google Maps. I’ll stick with Google maps thanks. Offline Maps. The gps is highly inaccurate which is ok for driving on a track but for bush walking you need the accuracy as there are not always made tracks to follow. Don’t rely on this app to keep you from getting lost. Map Tracking should be on by default and being able to upload a kml file for saving and compatible with other apps like Google Earth would be a good start. As far as I can tell you can’t go back to a point in the track and view your speed, altitude, position and time like you can with Kml data. I give 1 extra star for being able to run in the background but battery usage is a killer 7% in 33 minutes. **Developer response:** Hi there, we are here to assist if you have any difficulties using the app. For example, our GPS is highly accurate as it's using your phone's GPS. However, if your area is block the satellite signal, it may be preventing you from receiving accurate signal. Map tracking is already available. You can simply record trip and it will record your track in real time. Map Tracking is not enabled by default as it will consume more power from your batteries. We support .GPX files. We are looking to introduce kml files shortly. ONce again thank you for your feedback. We will continuously improve our Dirt Map. ### 5/5 — High Ho off we Go *2023-05-21* Awesome App for many of the off-road tracks throughout our travels. Between the Pilbara and now the Southwest, the maps are very comprehensive and great. Love the app and the tracks. **Developer response:** G'day... thank you for using Dirt Map! The app can actually dynamically re-centre when you are on a move. Highly recommended. ### 5/5 — Great app *2021-11-07* It’s now my go to four wheel driving exploring out heaps of detail well done cheers ### 5/5 — Excellent 4wd Navigation app!! *2021-10-19* This is now my main 4wd navigation map after using Mud maps 3, Avenza, ExploreOz and Newtracs. Maps have great detail and definition, and the map colours and contrasting used makes the tracks,roads easy to see and find at a glance with the track names very visible. The user interface is very clean and intuitive, the ability to add a marker on the fly very simple and quick. The trip recording works brilliantly. I record all my trips religiously and importing them from my previous app was a breeze. Unlike Mud Maps I can have all my recorded trips displayed permanently. The ability to add folders and sort trips is another plus. The sync accounts feature is definitely one of those things you never knew you needed until you had it. It being really useful In convoys to track others as well as letting the family know where you are. The developer is constantly improving and updating the app and listening to feedback so looking forward to what will become of an already great app. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for your compliment! I have used Hema, Avenza, Memory Maps. They all have something wrong with especially Hema which was my go to. So glad I have found Dirt Map. Much more reliable, Easy of use, Details of the map, Route Planning, Turn by Turn navigation to your camp site, or 4x4 track. No need for Google maps any more. This thing just works.
