## What is DirtSync?

DirtSync keeps your whole group on the map — even when cell service is gone.

Built for off-road crews, trail parks, guided rides, and anyone who has
ever turned around to go find somebody. Create a session, share a
7-character code, and every rider appears on a live satellite map in
under 60 seconds. No account required.

WORKS WHERE OTHER APPS STOP
DirtSync uses your internet connection when it's available and
automatically switches to mesh radio when the trail goes dark.
Connect a Meshtastic LoRa node over Bluetooth and your position,
chat messages, and SOS alerts keep moving over radio — canyon,
timber, deep park, no signal — it doesn't matter.

LIVE RIDER TRACKING
Every rider on the map with name, speed, heading, and live status.
See who's ahead, who's behind, and who hasn't moved in a while.

ONE-TAP SOS
Send an SOS with your exact GPS coordinates to every rider and
Mission Control instantly. Works over mesh radio when there's no
cell signal — so help knows where to go even in a dead zone.

TRAIL MAPS
Import KML, KMZ, and GPX files from Google Earth, Gaia GPS, or
CalTopo. Trail names and colors are preserved and shared to every
rider in the session the moment you upload.

RIDE CHAT
Group chat that routes through the cloud when you have signal and
through mesh radio when you don't. Messages find a path either way.

WAYPOINTS
Drop hazards, water crossings, fuel stops, and photo spots on the
map. Visible to every rider instantly.

MISSION CONTROL
Park operators, ride leaders, and guides get a full web dashboard —
live riders, SOS alerts, chat, trail maps, waypoints, and draw tools
from any browser. No app install required for the operator.

GPX EXPORT
Export your recorded ride track as a GPX file for mapping, analysis,
or sharing after the ride.

SESSION CODES
7-character codes like DUST421 or RIDE873 — short enough to fit a
Baofeng channel name. Share it at the trailhead and everyone is on
the map before the first rider rolls out.

Free for riders. No account required.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.5.0 — 2026-07-29

New features (feature-parity catch-up with Android):

Waypoint typing — 11 waypoint types (photo, bypass, cell service, dead end, finish, hazard, HQ, last fuel, SUV, SxS, truck) plus 7 trail types and a 0–10 difficulty rating, with a proper picker UI replacing the old text-prompt flow
Trip stats screen — distance/duration/avg speed for a ride, using the same Haversine calculation Android uses
Photo waypoints — capture a photo when dropping a "photo" waypoint, uploads to Firebase Storage; full-screen photo viewer with save-to-library
Ride groups — save named rider groups locally and quick-start a session with that group prefilled
Vehicle gateway / RaceDash / Switch Panel — discovers a Pi-based vehicle gateway over the mesh (mDNS), shows a live telemetry bar (speed, RPM, gear, temp, battery, throttle/brake, fault count), and a Switch Panel screen to toggle vehicle relays (light bar, amber lights, rock lights, etc.) — mirrors what Android already had
Bug fixes:

Fixed a regression (introduced earlier in this same build cycle) where the new gateway mDNS discovery was silently stopping mesh/PTT peer discovery
Fixed a pre-existing bug (present even in 1.4.5/58): Android→iOS push-to-talk audio was being silently dropped due to a clock-skew-sensitive staleness check that only existed on iOS's receive path — removed, since the existing duplicate-frame sequence check already covers what it was meant to protect against
Other:

Added camera/photo-library permissions and _dsrace._tcp Bonjour service declaration needed for the gateway/photo features

### 1.4.5 — 2026-07-22

Bug Fixes Zoom level now holds when center on me is pressed

### 1.4.4 — 2026-07-22

Bug fixes and improvements:

Rider pins now show current speed.
Improved connection reliability when switching networks.
Reduced background data usage.

### 1.4.1 — 2026-07-13

added gpx map import and export

### 1.4.0 — 2026-07-08
