This crApp is lagging when I switch temporary permissions off for Amazon and others. I’m believing it’s to give them time to take your data because it never used to do this. My trust is gone and I’ll probably be dumping this one. This was before… I just discovered that Google, Farcebook, etc are NOT ROUTED THROUGH VPN!!! Their customer service is exceptional and always willing to help. My previous review no longer stands, as they very quickly addressed the situation. PREVIOUS REVIEW: The latest update which supposedly fixes bugs, has seemingly broken a lot of functionality. Certain apps will not load content unless Disconnect is turned off. Activity page quits reporting blocked traffic. After testing found that email tracking was allowed during the same time. I have contacted customer support without resolution. Once Full VPN is on, the app stops blocking ads. Then rhey also advice you to install a second app in irder to blick everything. **Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Our SmartVPN and Full VPN modes use two different technologies to block trackers. While both use the same blocklist, the way they interact with Apple's technology is slightly different due to how Apple handles full VPNs. This is why we suggest using our Privacy DNS app in tandem with our Premium app to offer the most comprehensive protection possible. With our Premium app, you only need the free version of our Privacy DNS app to have this. While we wish this was not necessary as we'd like all of the protection to be consolidated into a single app, our goal is to ensure our users have the best protection we can offer. ### 2/5 — Suddenly all my traffic was blocked. I never noticed any lag or speed issue. Please reach out to our support team at support@disconnect.me so we can get to the bottom of what is happening to the app for you. ### 5/5 — I miss the original Disconnect circle graphics *2022-07-09* The first time I bought Disconnect, was years ago, when the app displayed a series of interconnected circles coming from any website I opened. I miss this, because it allowed me to see the dozens of trackers that originate from any single website. It also showed me in real time, exactly how many times social media apps were trying to access my computer hard drive, just from visiting any website that had a social media icon link. Twitter reportedly pinged my hard drive 600 times per minute, trying to access any vulnerabilities, that would give it unrestricted access to my computer data, even though I didn’t have a Twitter account. I really miss that part of the app. I suppose data collection and tracking has become so pervasive today, that knowing just how much data theft is going on would sicken most people. Now my app crashes. They used to tell you where the cookies came from. Get a feel for the threat level. Laziness? Now, I can never watch a video on ESPN. HAVE NO CLUE how to fix it. On the Activity page, tap a blocked connection you want to whitelist, toggle to blocking option off, hit Save, and restart the app's protection. On the Customize page, enter the URL that you want to whitelist, tap it from the list, toggle the blocking option off, then hit Save, and restart the protection as above.While the app does not specifically list the source of blocked trackers, a feature we hope to add in the future, you can check the Activity page in the app, then open the app or website/content you're curious about, and check the Activity page again. This will show you the trackers that were blocked while trying to access the app or website/content. They immediately charged me without no free trial and when I put in for a refund, it was denied so very skeptical. Watch yourself with this one. I was not able to open or do anything with them since installation. ("restore purchases".) but when I do, the app just times out. so... it's been broken for me for a couple of weeks. deleting and reinstalling the app hasn't helped. ### 1/5 — All Disconnect apps stopped working *2021-08-14* A few months ago when I changed iPhone models (8 to an SE), each of these Disconnect apps suddenly started blocking ALL traffic. Facebook, webpages, email - if the VPN is on, all traffic to my phone is blocked. I used to love these apps because amongst others things they selectively blocked ads, which was amazing - but apparently that functionality has been removed. I just want the same app that I paid a subscription for to just work the way it used to - or at all. I've tried reinstalling VPN profiles, deleting and re-installing app, reboots etc - no luck. The Discord apps (Pro and Premium) just block *everything* when they're turned on. **Developer response:** Thank you for sharing what you're seeing and sorry to hear that you've had so much trouble with the app. That is definitely not expected behavior with the app. Please note, you do not need our Pro app if you already have our Premium app. Having both apps installed can cause trouble as they use the same resources to protect you.
