### 3/5 — Notifications

*2026-02-24, version 2.1.1*

Good app and prefer it to the browser but it won’t clear notifications and it’s driving me nuts as can’t get rid of the red number no matter what I do. I’ve deleted apps for that very reason before and hoping I don’t have to do that for this app.

### 3/5 — Blinding white refresh and slow

*2025-11-05*

I have the app in dark mode. But when I to go back to my feed after trading a thread, I get a full white page that blinds me in the dark before it goes back.

Also, in my home network, where I have tracking protection enabled , loading of threads is very slow.

### 2/5 — Not great

*2025-10-20, version 2.1.1*

Web version much better. Tbh it’s pretty much web scrape anyway except the app hangs on login and doesn’t stay signed in. Not useful.

### 3/5 — Now broken on iPadOS 17.7.10

*2025-10-13, version 2.1.1*

I have been using this app quite happily on an older iPad tablet. Now the app seizes to function - it opens, connects to the forum, but the view then presented is not an interface that works in any way at all. What were clickable links are now all just plain text. I see I can report to “support” if I sign up to their forum, but frankly, I cba. Good luck!

Edit: now un-broken.

### 4/5 — Keeps forums out of my browser

*2025-10-08, version 2.1.1*

I like to separate my concerns so value that this keeps the vast majority of my forum browsing self-contained.

There's one bug that has presisted for years, where editing a post jumps you somewhere up the thread. Super annoying.

### 3/5 — Well, it does work some again

*2025-10-04, version 2.1.1*

Update: since the release today, 4Oct2025, it works again. Wasn’t working at all for about a week.

This has been working reasonably well up until 26.0.1 & this release came out. It opens and then freezes. Does nothing, have to force quit.

### 2/5 — Useful but a pain to use

*2025-09-24, version 2.0.12*

The app is clearly useful to get notified, grouping discourse in a single place. However, writing posts is a difficult experience.

Also, since it's mainly a web view, there are issues with the css of some hubs worsening the experience. The app should take example of what slack is doing.

### 4/5 — How

*2025-02-04*

APP occupies more and more storage space; how to deal with the accumulated cache space?

**Developer response:** Thanks for the report, I can reproduce the same issue, we will work on a fix.

### 2/5 — Most recent update broke the connections

*2024-09-30, version 2.0.4*

I have reported this on the Discourse meta, but I figured I would report it here. Since the latest update it appears to have broken the connection to the forum accounts, they will not connect

### 2/5 — Navigation is terrible

*2024-09-18, version 2.0.3*

While the option to structure and create the topics is amazing, the overall navigation is just a nightmare. The menu is absolutely confusing and you end up giving up in finding the required information.

### 4/5 — So helpful with the website but…

*2023-11-08, version 1.8.11*

There’s a new glitch where private message and flagged post notifications remain on. And the only way to remove them is to remove and reinstall the community. This gets annoying after a while.

### 3/5 — Oberste Menüleiste auf iPhone 15 Pro nicht erreichbar

*2023-09-28, version 1.8.10*

### 3/5 — Nothing special but it works

*2023-09-22, version 1.8.10*

Notifications don’t work, and you can’t sort anything, but other then that it works just fine at its job, putting all of the discourse forums in in one place

### 4/5 — Bei mehreren Discourse-Foren hilfreich

*2023-06-03, version 1.8.8*

App zeugt mehrere Discourse-Foren untereinander, samt Anzahl neuer Beiträgen dort.

### 3/5 — Good but a few missing features

*2022-12-24, version 1.8.4*

Having switched back from the now-abandoned Fig app, I’d love to see a few useful features such as:

- name (or automatically pull from the Discourse site) each site so the forum list isn’t a long list of domain names
- reorder forum list by alphabetical, last updated, etc ascending and descending, or manual sort if preferred
- open site, post, etc in new window (iPad)
- submit feedback or some other way to submit feature requests
- settings such as support for Dark Mode (that could reflect the OS or forum settings), etc
- sync settings and forum list to iCloud
- collapsible multi-column support on iPad

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nope.

*2026-07-05, version 2.2.2*

I was given the impression that this would be a good alternative to discord.
It is in fact very much not.
Trying to just get set up to search for communities to join it’s trying to get me to set up my own community. Not something I’m interested in. Just want to set up my own community “profile” and find like minded people.
Though the fact that it does come out and say that they want everything to be searchable gives the impression that conversations wouldn’t be able to be deleted.
It does make me question the reality of the intent behind this community…
Will keep on looking.

### 1/5 — Blinding white refresh and slow, draft didn’t work

*2025-11-12, version 2.1.1*

I have the app in dark mode. But when I to go back to my feed after trading a thread, I get a full white page that blinds me in the dark before it goes back.

Also, in my home network, where I have tracking protection enabled , loading of threads is very slow.

Lastly, I can no longer edit and write posts in iOS 26.1. Selection and buttons are not in the same place as they are shown on the screen.

### 1/5 — NO longer works since latest release/26.0.1 release

*2025-10-02*

This has been working reasonably well up until 26.0.1 & this release came out. It opens and then freezes. Does nothing, have to force quit.

### 1/5 — Normally good but not now

*2025-09-17, version 2.0.12*

This is badly broken with iOS 26. Near impossible to write forum posts at the moment. Very fragile taking several attempts to write a simple post.

### 1/5 — Functionality removed with 2.0.1 update

*2024-06-16, version 2.0.1*

This used to be an OK app to browse various discourse sites.
No longer.
The landing page used to show whether there were new posts or updates since your last visit.
You could then select a new or updated posts and either view them or discard all in bulk so the landing page would show no updates/new posts.

This functionality has been removed. So now you have to click through to see if there were any. Notifications are also no longer shown.

There is now no benefit of using this app at all vs using a web browser.

Removed.

### 1/5 — Still no notification

*2024-04-13, version 1.8.15*

Notification is still not working on self hosted instances.

### 1/5 — Use to work great

*2023-12-24, version 1.8.13*

I used this app with a podcasting community that I interact with often that runs a discourse instance. App ran perfect and functioned as expected on iPhone 13 Pro Max, Purchased iPhone 15 Pro Max installed the app, anytime I enter the site information it loads like 20% of the way and just sits there doesn’t matter how poor or great the connection to the internet is. I looked for a way to email the developer and try to address them directly but doesn’t appear such an option exist. Looks like I’ll be using the client in Safari for the time being.

### 1/5 — They don't want you to use this

*2022-12-25, version 1.8.4*

Just a poor experience. An afterthought.

### 1/5 — Confusing onboarding

*2022-08-09, version 1.8.2*

First time user never heard of discourse before and won’t be using it again. Very poor communication of how to use the app. Keep trying to add a website and it doesn’t work. Not useful at all.

### 1/5 — Never opens and can’t login.

*2021-09-30, version 1.7.2*

Now I have to attempt to login every time I want to use the app. When I login with my credentials it either never logs me in or I get an “oops, something went wrong…” page.
I have iOS 15.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Not native but pretty good

*2025-12-01, version 2.1.1*

Its not a real app, but I still prefer it over the browser. Notifications also work better and it’s handy for those who use multiple forums. Seems like most bad reviews are years old; a lot has changed since then. Also world class support!

### 5/5 — On my iPhone’s Home Screen

*2025-02-24, version 2.0.10*

I’m a member of several Discourse communities, and this app allows me to easily keep abreast of all of them (or even just one, if that were the case).

I can easily see what’s New and Unread, I get notifications for all Discourse communities I’m signed up to, and the excellent interface for (quickly) entering and interacting with a Discourse community help make this one of my most commonly used apps.

Highly recommended if you use Discourse.

### 5/5 — Großartig

*2025-02-19, version 2.0.10*

### 5/5 — very useful

*2025-01-29, version 2.0.9*

i use it daily to follow 9 communities. it’s good to receive a notification when someone cites me. or to write something on the road.

### 5/5 — Does the trick!

*2024-12-11*

This app lets you hook up multiple Discourse sites, so that you can use them all in a single app. There are some bugs but it absolutely works.

### 5/5 — Does the job perfectly

*2024-12-05, version 2.0.8*

I love the new swipe to enter chat feature a lot!

### 5/5 — Works great

*2023-08-04, version 1.8.10*

Gives me notifications for all my forums and loads the forum pages just fine. Nothing bad about this app…5/5!

### 5/5 — Macht was sie soll.

*2021-02-24, version 1.6.9*

### 5/5 — Working well here

*2019-12-16, version 1.5.4*

I can stay logged in to multiple different communities. Love the notifications feature. Recommending to others for sure.
