It has been poorly programmed and not checked for usability. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2019-10-28, version 3.11* The “hire car” part of this app is hopeless. About 3/4 of my bookings remain “open” for 10 minutes then say “full booking” which translates as no cars available. It causes huge inconvenience and frustration for residents and visitors alike. Shame on you Hong Kong Resorts!! ### 1/5 — Constant Crashing *2019-08-03, version 3.11* Can’t even open the app for 10 seconds without it crashing. ### 1/5 — DB car hire service unreliable *2019-02-14, version 3.11* The App includes the functionality to book the DB cars that are available - because of this you can no longer call and book the cars. Even when the booking is confirmed and the App says vehicle arranged, no vehicle has arrived. Happened several times. So not necessarily the fault of the App but the DB car hire service? It’s pretty unreliable- never used to be but it is now. ### 1/5 — Does stuff *2018-10-10, version 3.09* To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily fromNarodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick and Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existencial catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Rick and Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. ### 1/5 — Bad manners driver *2018-09-23, version 3.08* DB02A disappointing !!!! 7pm I try to get the bus and wave him he ignore me never open the door really disappoint !!!! ### 1/5 — Fail *2018-05-28, version 3.06* The hire car part of the app is awful. It was an extremely poor design to start with. Now it's not even working due to "server maintenance". Every schedule is showing a blank page. Please fire the app designer and start again, Discovery Bay! ### 1/5 — Horrid app! *2016-04-07, version 2.0.7* Refuses to open. When it did during previous versions, it took FOREVER! It needs fixing or reverting back to the original app which worked fine. ### 1/5 — Poorly designed and slow *2016-04-07, version 2.0.7* This app certainly aligns well with the build quality you can expect from HKRI. It is poorly designed, is clunky and slow. If you happen to upgrade your phone, the app will need to download data again, which has seems to hang. So now this app is completely useless! I tried deleting it from my phone and downloading it again, only to again be stuck on the front page with it saying “Initialization process is downloading data… may take few minutes”. I’ve been waiting 45min and still unable to use it! The app should allow you to just display the routes you care about (eg: Ferry, C4, C9, 9A. DB01, DB02 and DB03). The app should show the countdown to the next departure along with times of the next 2-3, all within the same screen. This would be more usable. The data synchronisation needs to be better done. Locking up the app on entry is not nice. The refreshing icon doesn’t even spin on it’s centre correctly! Perhaps consider compressing the data coming from your Amazon server and make the JSON payload a little more efficient and not so verbose (yes I sniffed your network traffic). ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Can’t read schedule *2025-09-13, version 4.7.0* The same genius that designed the bus terminal designed this app. Can’t read times on mobile devices. Can’t search. ### 1/5 — Honestly Horrible *2025-06-25, version 4.6.0* I can’t say enough how bad this app is. I believe 1 of 2 things must be true: it’s written as a high school project (in which case it’s great and you guys are off to a good start) or it’s actually a serious attempt at UI design and iOS development (in which case please give this back to the high school kids). This app is a usability disaster in almost every sense of the word. And every update is worse than the version before it. The latest version 4.0 makes it more difficult than previous versions, with multiple additional scrollings and clicks in order to find the next scheduled bus and ferry services. The phone does not vibrate even if all the notifications are turned on. This means the user has to continually check the app to see if the booking status has changed. Looks nice but it’s missing functionality. Missing bus routes, 403 Forbidden Errors and crashes. Just awful. Why someone would release this update without the bugging it is beyond me.
