Choosing this app over others (which allow you to use test them at least once before requiring purchase) in that brief moment caused me to miss the opportunity. I left a negative review about it requiring purchase before use, and the developer responded with the following, missing the point that they should at least let you trial it before purchase so we know it actually works and how it works. I deleted the original review since I can’t reply back to them to make it abundantly clear what I meant (I wasn’t expecting a 100% free product but some type of good faith in letting us test it first. Thanks for wasting my one opportunity when many other apps wouldn’t have. I’ll post their original reply to me below so they don’t have to type it all again in response. All that “money spent on development” and you can’t put in a mechanism that allows a one-time free trial!? Just expect people to go around paying for apps not knowing if they’ll work for their needs!? That’s ridiculous. Original developer response: Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify that in-app purchases are clearly disclosed on the App Store page before download, so the app is not completely free. A significant amount of work goes into building and maintaining an app like this, including development, updates, testing, and ongoing support. For that reason, it cannot be offered entirely for free. Response was it’s “corrupted” and “unrecoverable”. Which probably means it just didn’t finish the final index/header, and easy fix if you were able to access the unfinished file. But instead, file sharing is disabled on this wonderful app! So when their app bugs and your video doesn’t properly finalize, you lose it completely!
