Allows me to add to up next as well as the end of my current queue. Has support for easily switching audio and airplay devices. And even shows the full specs of current song (filetype, bits, kHz, etc.) right under the playback bar. As a user with bot lossy and lossless music in my library, this was an amazing surprise. Working on, hope to bring more and finer. ### 4/5 — Good Start *2025-10-18* Writing this review because I really enjoy the look of this app compared to Finamp, though I will hold off from using this app full time until shuffle, offline downloads, and repeats are added. Other than the small occasional stutter/lag when skipping a song, the app works nicely. I have 2.5 suggestions: 1. Adding a “Genres” tab onto the app would be a great addition in my opinion. 2. Make the music downloading actually work with large playlists/albums, because Finamp doesn’t like to download the library in its entirety sometimes. 2.5: Not sure if this would be possible, but adding estimated dates of future updates would be very appreciated :) **Developer response:** Thanks, shuffle and repeat is already available in TestFlight builds (Discrete -> Settings -> Discord or Telegram -> Search for TestFlight). Working on downloads right now. There will be slight reorganization for content management some day, and genres menu will come too. I understand that downloads (as well as everything else actually) should be robust and efficient. That’s why I am adding downloads now, after solid foundation is ready for it. And that’s why it will take time to be done, as well as probably this big feature will also evolve over time. But yeah, I am paying close attention to performance of it and integrity. I can guess you are power user with big library — I’d appreciate very much if you could join TestFlight beta program (ideally join our Discord server and ask me to provide Beta user role - we have separate channels for beta builds reporting). As for dates, can’t provide them for big releases, sorry. But i do my best when I know estimates for next beta builds: see announcements in Discord. Thanks again and stay tuned! ### 4/5 — Fantastic so far. *2025-10-15* Just a couple hours in, I already love the attention to detail with how the time counts down when tracks are playing. I also love the Mono font (big fan) I love the meta data for albums, i have spent a long time writing and curating, my album Meta data and bios. Including that makes me really happy. Personally, It would be awesome for the album info section to interpret markdown language from the server to the app. If that makes sense. I don’t think this would be a big deal, but on my server, jellyfin allows you to split folders with different media types. I have mine split into Mp3 and Flac files. It would be cool if this app did the same. Again, awesome app. Ty for making it. **Developer response:** Thank you for such a detailed review! I will look into markdown support (didn’t now those sections support it), and about folder management for music. Also high level roadmap is published on the website. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 3/5 — Good, but missing vital feature. *2025-12-20* It’s smooth, it’s sleek, but it’s missing the ability to just…shuffle play the library. Please correct me if I’m missing something, but as it stands, you can only select albums or playlists, and the only way you can shuffle play the whole library it seems would be to manually add it all to a playlist. **Developer response:** Thank you. Have to say, that shuffling whole library is not a ‘just’ feature. Imagine my library be 2000+ albums. To do it right requires some design. I plan on some parameterised queue ‘generator’ where you could set up filters and rules and generates queues to your liking. However, that’s not implemented right now. I hope you’ll reconsider using Discrete when it comes. ### 3/5 — Looks promising! *2025-11-23, version 0.4.1* I would like to display the genres. Also I’d love a few more ui/ux improvements. For example: to play an album I have to open it or right click on it. Would love two a buttons that appear when I hover, one for shuffle one for play. This could also appear on artists and other elements. ### 3/5 — It’s nice *2025-10-05* Looks nice visually, but it’s missing some features. Mainly, a repeat button? This seems like a massive oversight to me especially because I loop songs a lot. There seems to be no way to repeat a song/album at all without queueing it repeatedly. Fix that and it’s definitely one of the better looking Jellyfin players out there **Developer response:** Thank you. Stay tuned for updates :) ### 4/5 — Great functionality, Okay UI *2026-08-17* This app has a FANTASTIC feature set, that of which I would say rivals the built in music app. The user interface is a little clunky and slow to navigate, but I will probably keep using this app whenever I need a player with a pop-out window. **Developer response:** Thank you for such a review! Over all really impressive. I gave a big MP3 collection and works well with Jellyfin. Making playlist is great. One thing and maybe I’m just blind but I can’t find a shuffle all songs button. Like music, artist Albums and all songs to hit shuffle. Can’t find it or don’t have it? **Developer response:** Thank you for detailed review! Shuffle all is not implemented yet, but will be eventually, since it requires dynamic queue updates: the app can’t enqueue all 100k tracks at once, and some users have such amounts of data. ### 4/5 — Promising player! *2026-06-05* This is a great new player my biggest ask would be if we could cache the album list somehow like Manet does. My default thing to do when I open the app is look at my album list but because we’re loading from the server every time and I’ve got a few thousand albums it takes a very very long time to the point where I’ve only seen it once pls fix ty 🙏 **Developer response:** Thank you for detailed review! We have home, playlists, albums, and artists but no section for all the tracks in one place. I kind of go around this by making a massive playlist on Feishin before using this app. Would be a 5/5 if you normally just listen to albums and don’t care about singles. **Developer response:** Thank you, I'm glad it works fine for you! Surely, 'All Songs' screen is something many asked for. Recent 0.6.0 release has internal improvements for handling big lists, since some users have really large libraries and such a screen should work well with 100k+ songs in it. Surely, it'll come eventually to Discrete, just need a little more work on foundation for this. Edit: Just checked the roadmap, cant wait! ### 4/5 — Almost there! *2025-11-10* For a while I was using Manet. Recently I found out about this app and just how amazing it was. It’s free and I think does a lot better job of communicating a music player in swift when compared to Manet. The only 2 huge things this is missing is carplay support and the biggest one for me, PRELOADING AUDIO. I think this is one of the best jellyfin clients on the market though now, and I recommend you use it if you’re looking for a great apple music-like audio player for jellyfin. Apple Watch is on the roadmap for sure, but exact ETA is a mystery now :) But I'll put my effort making it fine product. ### 5/5 — Awesome Jellyfin Player *2026-06-29* Really loving this so far, especially enjoying the curated mixes (like the ‘Try This Out’ section,) new ways to explore my library are always welcome. Also like how lightweight it is, caching has not been an issue for me, especially since it keeps the app size down. My biggest ask would be DLNA, there are currently no Jellyfin audio players that work with Sonos speakers like Symfonium does on Android. Hope you will consider this 🙏🙏 Next to that would be lyrics improvements, like letting us click each line to skip to it, and having it highlight the currently playing lyrics. Everything you need is here and easy to set up, so I’m definitely satisfied. It could be nice to be able to customize the home section at some point? The current sections feel somewhat redundant (new releases vs recently added? suggestions vs try this out?). I’m mostly an album listener though, so this doesn’t affect my usage at all. Other apps were good but had significant flaws (bugs causing no album artwork, download issues etc.). Discrete handles me needs the best.
