## What is DisparaTimer?

DisparaTimer is a mobile app that, when connected to a Raspberry Pico W/WH, can control the exposure time of a photographic enlarger using a power relay. The physical setup is inexpensive and easy to assemble.

DisparaTimer has two operation modes. The first is a traditional timer mode, where you set a specific time for each exposure. The second is designed for creating test strips with constant fractional step increments over a base time.

On iPad (iPadOS 17 and later), DisparaTimer includes a landscape-only notes panel that lets you add photos or images of your test strips and make handwritten or visual annotations directly on them.

### 1.3 — 2025-12-25

This update brings a brand-new Notes system to the iPad! A dedicated place to write down your workflow and keep everything together with your timings. Here’s what’s new:

Notes system (new):
 • Added a full Notes panel inside the app.
 • Create, rename, and manage multiple notes.

Image annotations (new):
 • Added a built-in photo annotation system.
 • Works with both finger and Apple Pencil.
 • Includes a clear annotations option to start over anytime.

Export (new):
 • Added an option to export and share your notes.
 • PDF export, ready to save to Files or share via AirDrop/Mail.

The new 1.2 version is here! It comes packed with a lot of new features, which we’ve listed below (though with so many changes, we might’ve even forgotten to mention a few):

New Developing Tab Added:
• Included times for RC or FB paper.
• Added reset button for the timer.

New Options Menu Added:
• Option to switch between manual or automatic timer progression.
• Option to add a 5-second delay after starting development.
• Added links to the user manual and bug report form.
• Added credits for contributors to the project.

Test Strip Tab:
• New test strip table with the main time centered.
• Added ADD and TOTAL mode.

New Icons in Bottom Tabs:
• Animations added to the icons.

Timer Tab:
• Added TB1 and TB2 times.
• Added option to reset all memories via long-press on the reset button.
• Added option to reset the MEMO column via long-press on the word MEMO.
• Added F-STOP button and + / – buttons to increment or decrement the Display time in steps.

The biggest update to DisparaTimer is here! New features, a redesigned interface, and more control for your darkroom.

NEW
    - Redesigned TIMER and STRIP views:
        - TIMER view:
            - New F-STOP, - and + buttons added to manually adjust the Display time.
            - New BT 1 and BT 2 memory slots for your base print times via long press.
            - New MEMO table to store your dodging and burning times.
                - Long press on the word MEMO allows you to clear the entire table at once.
        - STRIP view:
            - A clearer, more useful table ready to better adapt to your darkroom workflow.
            - Ability to save total times with a long press (to BT 1 or BT 2).
            - Ability to save time increments from the -/+ column with a long press (to the MEMO column).
            - - and + buttons added to the memory save menus to allow 1/8-stop adjustments before saving. 
        - External keyboard and pedal support: 
            - You can now trigger FOCUS or START using a keyboard, button, or Bluetooth pedal.

- IMPROVED
    - The START button is now larger, and the text on the lower buttons is also bigger.
    - Maximum Display time: 299.9s. If exceeded, the display blinks to warn you.

- Initial warning message reminding users to be cautious of potential elements that might fog the paper
- A mode has been implemented to invert the app’s operation (ideal in case the app thinks the enlarger is off when it’s on, or vice versa). This can be achieved by long press for at least 3 seconds on the button TIMER or STRIP

IMPROVED
- FO and RT texts changed to FOCUS and RESET
- The app remembers the Focus state even after being closed and reopened
- Now the app elements’ sizes no longer change due to system adjustments
- The touch areas of the tables are now larger, making it easier to save and retrieve times from them

FIXED
- Interface adapted for screens from 4.7” to 6.9”
- FOCUS now remains locked when a timer is running
- Fixed the bug that caused times to be sent in STRIP mode when the table only had zero values
