BUT *2018-07-05* The adverts are irritating There is no Search facility Lat/Long display for the cursor position would be useful and ... it just crashed, losing all my work O.K. ... I will restore it by pasting back the coordinates from the eMail that I sent myself as a back-up : That doesn't work !! [the list gets populated with zeros] Update: The coordinates need to be pasted back in exactly the right format ... i.e. WITHOUT the text from the eMail. ### 4/5 — Great App! *2018-06-28* This app does exactly what I want and what it says. A few things for the developer to make it 5/5: - When trying to save an image, the app crashes. I have to text a pucture of it to myself to save - Have the ability to switch on/off the blue auto-locator, and the pinpoint vertical/horizontal lines - Have the ability to rename saved paths I still really like this and is very useful. Exactly what I was looking for, and hoped to find. And I actually found it! And it's so easy to use too. Love it <3 ### 2/5 — Two Major Flaws *2014-06-29* This app does what it says it will do. The two problems I found are 1) The only way to enter a position is to scroll the map. You can't enter coordinates nor can you search for a location by name. 2) You can't measure distances across the Pacific, such as between California and Japan, because you can't scroll the map much farther than Hawaii. ### 5/5 — Excellent and useful *2013-10-20* Does exactly as described and if you need the lat long of a location or distance between two or simply "how far did we walk, run, jog, cycle today - this will do it for you. ### 5/5 — Great tool!! *2013-07-31* I love this app and use it often. A great measuring tool. I use it to get a comparison of my local airstrip to one else where, where the landing area is not published by the FAA. I've used it to set boundaries for a search and rescue of our lost grandchild. Some of the other reviews i read are trying to use it like a map app. IT MEASURES STRAIGHT LINES OR MULTIPLE LINES! I love the undo more than the trash can (remove all) to only remove the last or last two or three pins to realign them or to hone in on the extract distance from start. Lots of uses as a measuring tool! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Ruined by ads *2021-07-18* Honestly, the UI leaves a lot to be desired but the ads ruin it. Why? I have 4 apps on the store - little ones - and they are free. This isn’t worth money. But, if you think it is - and Google Maps does it for free - then charge for it. The adverts could not be dismissed, the application would not work. Cannot search with it. You are expected to know exactly where to drop your pin. If the location is unknown to you, then you have some homework to do in Google Earth or Maps so you can come back to this app and drop your pin in the desired location. When it does give an estimate, it is straight line only, completely ignoring road routes. This might be better suited for pilots if it didn't frequently crash. It also saves coordinates to a list that you cannot rename for convenience sake. Just a big list of coordinates......until it crashes and wipes out minutes or hours worth of saved data. Don't waste your time on this one. ### 1/5 — Not functional *2013-03-30* Why can't I search an address and then pin it from there? You're expected to know where on the map you want to pin and then drop it there, which makes no sense since if you're like me, you haven't memorized the world's Atlas. Like another user said, you have to know the lat/lon to edit.
