Unfortunately, when attempting to open a photo, the app (iPad Pro) immediately crashes. I have restarted, deleted and reinstalled, to no avail. It’s unfortunate that I paid for the service and am no longer able to use it. Hopefully a fix for this issue will be released soon, as my iPad is up to date, and so is the app. ### 3/5 — Has been ... *2025-04-01, version 1.2.1* 02/04/2025 App has now started giving download errors on the bird packs which is really irritating. I’ve reinstalled etc but no joy :( cannot find anyone to talk to either - hello, hello?!! A great app but no development or updates. I've written to the dev regarding another issue but have received no response from her what so ever, so I don't hold out much hope of this getting fixed anytime soon! Lately, after I got a new iPhone I couldn‘t download the white birds and the trees anymore. I already wrote to the creators, but nothing happened yet. However in the last several months I can no longer use the masking option. I reached out to the company and they said they would look into it. I have never heard back. Buy with caution. Once upon a time, I loved this app… I’ve owned it since its inception and for years it was a part of my editing protocol. Then another app became my go to, and for a year or two I stopped using this. Recently, I opened the app and saw what appeared to be some lovely updates. Unfortunately not one will download onto my iPhone without error messages telling me they’ve corrupted and to remove and reinstall the app. I’ve done this more than a dozen times, as well as written for customer support l, all to no avail. I guess she’s no longer supporting DistressedFx+ and it’s sad. This time, when I delete it, I won’t try again. I assume it’s a dead app. Sadly. Don’t waste your time and money. I hope I hear to the contrary, but I won’t hold me breath. ### 1/5 — Not happy *2021-10-30, version 1.1.3* I hadn’t used it for a while do I deleted it so I had extra storage on my phone. Re- installed it and clicked restore. I’ve tried several times to resolve the bug on their app. Bought nearly all the packs on plus. It keeps telling my to delete and re-download. The developers keep telling me it’s apples fault. Apple are saying it’s the developers fault. I also have Fx+ on my iPad - for better control ability. You can’t apply this app’s layer on all images - you need do some thinking in advance the types of effects you want or wish to apply - in short, Pre Visualisation! So …. ensure you ‘prepare’ your images before bringing them into Fx+. If you want to explore a new creative path in photography - try this app, and you’ll find yourself on a road to imagination! Highly recommended app for creative photography. If it doesn’t work for you - put it down to experience, but at least you’ve tried! PS Buy the additional background layer packs! PPS Build your own abstract backgrounds and use them via ‘Custom Layers’! ### 5/5 — Cube icon doesn’t respond *2024-02-23, version 1.2* When a picture is taken in portrait with iPhone camera and you proceed to Distress FX Plus window, the text “photo can be masked using depth based data in this photo” doesn’t appear in upper left hand corner. The icon for the “cube” is greyed out and doesn’t respond for text to appear nor does the arrow in the upper hand corner appear so you can flip the texture in back or front of the subject. I thought you might like to know of the problem so this issue can be addressed. I got in touch with the person who created a video explaining Distressed FX Plus and while the “cube” worked for him when he produced the video, it no longer works for him on the iPhone 15. Distressed FX is a great app and am happy with the results I get but just thought you might want to be aware of this bug.
