### 5/5 — 👍

*2026-05-31*

## Frequently asked questions about DiveCore

### What devices does DiveCore support?

DiveCore is designed for the Apple Watch Ultra (1st gen or later) and requires an iPhone with iOS 18+ for its companion app. An iCloud account and Apple Sign-In are also necessary.

### How does DiveCore analyze my dives?

DiveCore uses on-device AI to provide a dive score (0-100) based on Safety, Efficiency, Consistency, Condition, and Depth Management. It also offers a real-time Risk Index with automatic stress-zone detection.

### Can I track my dive route with DiveCore?

Yes, DiveCore estimates your underwater path using sensor fusion (compass, gyro, accelerometer, depth) and captures GPS at entry/exit. The iPhone app provides a 3D visualization and playback of your estimated dive route.

### What are the subscription options for DiveCore Pro?

DiveCore Pro offers monthly and yearly subscription plans. The monthly plan is $4.99/P1M, and the yearly plan is $29.99/P1Y, which includes a 7-day free trial.

### Does DiveCore have ads?

No, DiveCore does not contain advertisements. The app is free to download and use, with optional in-app purchases for advanced features through DiveCore Pro.

### How often is DiveCore updated?

The latest version of DiveCore is 1.1.1, last updated on 2026-06-06. Updates typically include new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements.

### Is DiveCore suitable for beginners?

DiveCore is an assistance tool and requires certified divers trained by qualified instructors. It should not be relied upon solely, and users should always dive with a buddy and follow conservative profiles.

### What dive data does DiveCore automatically record?

DiveCore automatically records water temperature, gas mix, SAC, tank pressure, decompression algorithm used, and no-fly time. It also syncs dive logs via iCloud.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.5 — 2026-09-04

- No-fly time now follows the DAN/UHMS guideline exactly: 12 h after a single no-decompression dive, 18 h after multiple dives per day or multi-day diving, 24 h after a decompression dive — fixes repetitive-dive no-fly times that were shown far longer than the guideline
- Rebuilt Dive Planner on the PADI Recreational Dive Planner (RDP): no-deco limits and pressure groups, repetitive dives (surface interval → residual nitrogen → adjusted no-deco limit), nitrox via Equivalent Air Depth, and RDP safety-stop / minimum-surface-interval / emergency-decompression rules — plan with the same numbers you were trained on
- On Apple Watch, a first-launch prompt lets you allow Health, Motion & Fitness, and Location ahead of time — no more permission sheets appearing under Water Lock during a dive
- The depth graph in iPhone dive details now shows the surface (0 m) at the top and deeper below, matching the Watch and the share card; the water-temperature line now lines up with its scale
- Planner sliders: scrolling that starts on a slider no longer jumps the value, and a tap sets the value directly

### 1.1.4 — 2026-07-09

afety and reliability improvements throughout:
• Critical ascent-rate and ceiling alarms stay clearly visible on screen — even during a safety stop.
• Improved safety-stop and decompression guidance with a more accurate ascent-rate readout.
• More reliable sync of your gas mix, gradient factors and settings between Apple Watch and iPhone.
• Dive logs now always record the exact configuration each dive actually ran with.
• More robust recovery after sensor loss or an underwater restart — your dive keeps computing.
• Clearer no-fly guidance (DAN/UHMS: 12 h minimum, 24 h recommended before flying).
• Consistent depth-limit and backup-computer reminders in all 14 languages.
• Many stability and battery optimizations.

Always dive within your training and carry a backup dive computer.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-06-19

v1.1.3 Update

  - Much more reliable iCloud backup & restore, now resilient on weak connections (e.g. out at sea) — if the connection drops, your logs are saved on the device and back up
automatically once you're back online, and you can keep using the app while it backs up
  - The depth readout on the underwater screen now updates sub-second, smoothly and instantly
  - Improved depth-tracking accuracy through the shallow-to-deep transition
  - Strengthened safety alerts (including oxygen partial pressure / ppO2) and more conservative decompression
  - Dives now start reliably even on a slow descent or a brief hover
  - If your watch restarts mid-dive, your dive resumes seamlessly instead of ending
  - Stronger AI photo & video enhancement in Studio — more accurate automatic underwater color restoration, natural dehaze, improved upscaling, and consistent color correction
  across video
  - Add and edit notes and a buddy on a dive log after the dive
  - Many stability and UI improvements — tank labels, dive-report generation, video export status, No-Fly Live Activity, settings sync, and more

### 1.1.2 — 2026-06-16

v1.1.2 Update

  - More reliable iCloud backup and restore — your dive logs restore safely even after switching to a new device or reinstalling
  - The depth readout on the underwater screen now updates sub-second, smoothly and instantly
  - Improved depth-tracking accuracy through the shallow-to-deep transition
  - Strengthened safety alerts (including oxygen partial pressure / ppO2) and made decompression calculations more conservative
  - If your watch restarts mid-dive, your dive now resumes seamlessly instead of ending
  - Add and edit notes and a buddy on a dive log after the dive
  - Overall stability, HealthKit/location handling, and localization refinements

### 1.1.1 — 2026-06-06

v1.1 Update

- Screen stays on underwater: Water Lock now turns on automatically when you submerge, keeping the display on regardless of your Always-On setting
- New first-launch onboarding with a safety briefing and a quick guide to starting a dive
- Redesigned decompression display: a DECO badge next to your depth, plus separate NEXT STOP, STOP TIME, and TOTAL TTS for clarity
- Ascent rate now shown accurately in m/min, with improved safety-stop indication
- Deco violations now show a non-blocking warning instead of a 24-hour lockout (fixes a pop-up that could block the screen underwater)
- Safer default conservatism (Gradient Factors 40/80)
- Honest tank card: clearly indicates when no transmitter is connected
- Improved 3D underwater route visibility and smoother depth/compass readouts
- Fixed NDL sometimes showing infinite, and dive logs / max depth not appearing after a dive
- Start a dive directly with the Action Button
- General stability and UI improvements
