GET AHEAD OF EXTREME WEATHER A seven-day forecast for your own farm, and early warning of frost, extreme heat, damaging rain, high wind or a long dry spell — each with the jobs that protect the crop at the stage it has reached. A season-ahead read says whether the next three months look wetter, drier or warmer than usual. Everyone on the farm gets the warning, so the seedbed is covered whether or not you managed to call.
