Also, to be able to have a favorites list of stations you could easily check would be wonderful. ### 2/5 — Day pass scam for ebikes *2026-08-22, version 2026.31.3* The “Day Pass” is misleading. It sounds like you’re paying a fixed price for all-day use, but it’s actually just prepaid credit toward e-bike rides. We ended up being charged significantly more than the Day Pass price. I was charged for their hardware not working while trying to dock the bike. I would enjoy riding a Divvy back home instead of the Red Line or Metra but the cost is plain ridiculous. It’s not about having or not having the money, fortunately the cost would not burden me but $12 vs $3.75 … and that is the Metra price??? If you are thinking of using this as a means of transportation and not just for fun might as well give up. All of the parking spots get filled by the e-bikes that can literally park anywhere but then when you have a manual bike you have no where to park it so you end up riding further away from your destination. I genuinely hate every divvy experience I have had. ### 3/5 — Expensive *2026-05-24* The app works as it should and you can find bikes and unlock them easily assuming you have payment set up on your phone. Be wary of the day pass though as that only gives you the classic bikes free for the first 3 hours. The day pass is around $23 however. The e-bikes are like 44¢ a minute. We bought a day pass and rode the e-bikes for maybe 60-75 minutes and a classic for about 15 minutes and we paid about $61 total for that day including the pass. It’s just too expensive to enjoy. They give you where to park but some places are just plain non existent and broken to put it takes several times to lock in. Crazy fees and constant price hikes *2026-04-29* I used city bike in New York for years and have used Divvy bikes in Chicago for the past four. First of all, it’s ridiculous that you can’t use one membership in both cities, considering both companies are owned by Lyft. The bikes work decently, although they not electric ones are extremely slow. At least a few months, I was getting charged a crazy $25 fee for “incorrect parking” despite having parts exactly as they asked. I had to start taking photos and videos of how I parked. They did refund me when I sent photos but never admitted that the fee was incorrectly charged. Prices have been going up like crazy. It was $1 to park outside the station and it’s doubled since then. Never mind the 15 cents/minute e bike cost becoming 20 cents/minute or the membership fee going up significantly. Taking an e bike is often as or even more expensive than just taking an uber at this point… ### 1/5 — Scam as hell *2026-04-23, version 2026.14.3* Literally don't use this app. It's SCAMMY. Took me and my mothers money ### 1/5 — Dysfunctional app, horrible customer service *2026-04-09* Every time I try to use this app, I think to myself “I’ve done this a few times now, I’m sure it will be fine this time” and every time it is not fine. There’s always an issue getting a bike, docking it, or something in between. Whether it’s renting a bike and having it not unlock for you after you pay for it snd support telling you you’ll have to wait 24hrs and pay the $100 it’ll charge you before being refunded or going to three dock locations shown on the app that don’t exist (both have happened to me) they always find a way to waste an extra 30 minutes of your time and drain your wallet as well. Using a Divvy bike is the most frustrating and unreasonably difficult thing I’ve done. Mostly I ride the ebikes… 2430 rides so far covering 2785 miles during more than 1000 hours of fun. I carry the little blue Divvy key and that works fine for me. Now Divvy should extend the Divvy app to work on cellular smartwatches to let us pause rides and maybe do more. Often the Divvy app on the mobile phone remains at home because the full service watch is much more convenient outdoors. Yes, I’m a Divvy fan. I rented in Chicago and had no troubles at all! The baskets in front have straps to strap things down; of course you have to make sure you’re items are securable. And if not, put them in a backpack. I had a place to rack my bike both times. And the app told me my ending price each time. The Divvy/Lyft app integrates with Google Maps which was super helpful for navigation. The only suggestion I have is to add a cell phone holder so people can have the map handy while riding. Thanks for the transportation Divvy. ### 5/5 — Love the app and ebikes *2022-07-25, version 14.39.3* In the past I’ve had trouble renting citibikes in Chicago with getting codes, stations being down, no availability etc. This time, the DIVVY app worked great for scanning a bike. The standard bikes are heavy but easy to use. I’m glad you can have them for 3 hrs without returning. The ebikes were extra $ but well worth it. All in all the app made for a seamless experience. ### 5/5 — Divvy is my key to the city. *2020-08-16* Last year I signed up for a Divvy for all membership and I was nervous to use it it during the pandemic I started using it and gained confidence to bike all over the city, weather its to a friends miles away or a sunrise or sunset and even grocery shopping.
