Any plans to make that work in the future? **Developer response:** The app has 8 effects: loop roll, white noise, jet, lo-fi, gate, filter, echo, reverb. Drag and drop tracks from Dropbox to DJ Player. ### 4/5 — Essential feature set w/out bloat, MIDI mapping, promising flexible DJ solution *2020-12-21, version 10.4.0* This is the app I’ve been looking for. The features aren’t flashy (there are plenty of great offerings though) in favor of just what you need for solid mixing. Most important is MIDI mapping. If you have a controller that outputs MIDI, you can teach it to DPP. This is so obvious and all but the most basic toy DJ apps should support this. What’s more the settings are deep and broad for really dialing in you rig. In short there’s a lot to love about this serious app for striped down mobile mixing (and much more). I’ve experienced some problems and Deezer integration is spotty. Good news is the dev seems active in updates and responded to my support message quickly (apparently he’s working on the crashing and with Deezer to solve the intermittent track loading issue). So, while I wouldn’t want to rely on this for even a casual paying gig yet, I’m willing to pay for this app and stick with it for now in the hope these problems are resolved. ### 4/5 — Exporting *2019-11-09, version 10.3* When I try to press “open in” it doesn’t work I have a 7+ by the way ### 3/5 — UI freezes when loading iTunes library *2018-09-02, version 10.0.1* What I thought originally was a misbehaving app turns out to be a UI that gets blocked when the iTunes library is loading. Additionally the app does not support playlist folders, so my meticulously organized library is a giant list with no discernible order. djay pro also has this issue, but apparently this doesn’t bother anyone else, just me. Beyond that, playback is smooth and support for external controllers and i/o options is top notch, well done! ### 5/5 — WOW *2016-12-28, version 9.0.8* Absolutely fantastic, fully featured DJ app. Integration with Ableton Link and MIDI timecode support makes sync with a computer setup even easier. I use studiomux on iPad and a virtual midi port in Ableton Live which allows me to perfectly sync the arpeggiator on my Ultranova synthesizer (BOTH WAYS) on the fly for true live PA freedom. Once set up, works flawlessly and allows me to concentrate on what's in front of me instead of looking up at some computer screen. Holy Grail achieved, nicely done. ### 5/5 — Excellent - Professional - Intuitive - Deep *2016-08-19, version 8.0.3* I now perform almost entirely with DJ Player Pro on my iPad. I’ve Midi mapped a bunch of different controllers to it with amazing results and love the audio and midi routing possibilities. Recent updates have been welcomed warmly and the developer listens to feedback. There is a lot going on - enough to please the professional but intuitive enough for the beginner. Patiently awaiting audio bus or inter-app audio support for better effects routing. Overall an excellent, stable, performance tool. ### 5/5 — Great but... *2016-05-01, version 7.8.2* This app is amazing and has a great interface it works really well standalone. I just have one question, I saw a Portablist use this app with a turntable which leads me to believe that you can connect other turntables and digital mixers. I paid the $10 for the pro version thinking I could do so but I can't . The cash grab practices and the newer interface has us long time users extremely miffed. The layout, it's ease of use, and it's asthetics were primarily why we justified coming out of our pockets $20. Not only did the developer remove the app's long standing asthetic appeal, but they replaced the eye candy it once was with an easy on the eyes equivalent of a toxic garbage landfill. Then, Without creating a second app to justify the MANDITORY subscription payments, these developers....theyve effectively robbed Ecah and Every one of their long time supporting customer base! The excuses they've given in other comments, for making an already-paid-for $20 app, to now suddenly require additional monthly subscription payments was lame to say the very least. Theyre reasoning is I absurd and PROPOSTEROUS! Developers....Youve indicated the cost of research, development and advertisements to be the root cause for ripping us all off? Ever heard of actually creating new products instead? How about the creation and implementation of an entirely new and separate app? Because that would absolutely be justified in requiring money to obtain and use. This just goes to show the direction some of you developers are headed in. Bankruptcy. Your company and its employees are lazy and shady. You are all trying to still eat off of an older piece of work, by ripping off those of us who bought and paid for and supported your 8 year old work. Instead of putting in the time and effort needed to recreate a newer modern program, you are stealing the invested money of original supporters and attempting to revive the cash cow you once created and sold at 20 bucks a pop. Way too shady off a business practice for your company to last much longer. May your company's sales, growth and value soon reflect the very sick, lazy, vampiric-like nature that you've displayed here in the app store. BOYCOTT THIS AND ANY OTHER COMPANY RESORTING TO THEFT, RATHER THAN HARD WORK AND CREATIVE INNOVATION! **Developer response:** Are you sure not mistaking this app with something else? This "new" interface is 4-5 years old already and the app is subscription-based since 2015. I know other DJ apps that has been $20 before and switched to subscriptions... ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2019-04-22, version 10.1.2* Using Akai AMX with iPhone XS Max on 12.2. I spent almost 2 weeks testing with multiple USB power hubs, power supply’s for the hubs, USB cords, Apple authorized adaptors, sent crash reports to the developer, sent a video of my set up to the developer, tested on 2 different iPhones (also iPhone SE), restored both iPhones to factory, tested multiple Serato formats (CD vinyl & SD cards), cancelled my subscription to re add it and even purchased a brand new AMX mixer but the app still can’t find it. Everything I bought the last 2 weeks has been tested and work fine on my MPK49 but DJPP still can’t find my AMX mixer. I’ve suggested to the developers that it might be a potential bug that could be patched with an update but they they’ve only responded back with “well it should work” or “well it works with my mixer” and now they won’t email me back at all. I’ve given up and moving over to edjing/Mix Fader. The cost of a Mix Fader would have been cheaper than everything I’ve purchased to make this app try to work with my current mixer. **Developer response:** We responded 5 times to your emails and tried every possibility we could imagine. We also explained that device connections are not managed by apps, but iOS itself. App developers have absolutely no influence on your connectivity issue. Your AMX is not visible to iOS at all, therefore no application will be able to see it. Despite all of this you gave us 1 star because of an issue we have absolutely no control on. So please never ever email or message us. We're done. ### 1/5 — Already bought full version of this app, now it's nerfed with a subscription. Bad form *2017-06-12, version 9.0.9* Really disappointed that the app which I already bought is then nerfed because now they want a subscription fee. That's not customer support, that's a shakedown. Oh well, DJay or edjing here I come! Edit: in response to the developer - when they did update to djay2 they didn't nerf djay to force you to upgrade. What you did to the app would be equivalent to someone buying a car, then taking the car keys at the next service appointment, then saying "yah, even though you bought the car, we're not going to let you drive it unless you start paying us monthly". ### 1/5 — Don't get cheated *2016-10-19, version 8.1* I purchased DJ Player. I loved it. Best DJ app on the market. But one day, I open my favorite app, and find that the layout has completely changed. I was displeased, but gave it a chance. Then the music cut out, and a box asked me to register. I figured it must be a mistake, since I already paid for this app. So I emailed the developer. Sure enough, the developer felt like the 'pay once' business model was not 'sustainable', and changed it to a monthly subscription. It wasn't a subscription service when I purchased it. The developer even referenced the Apple EULA, which basically says he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants with the app. I feel like my money was stolen, and then he has the audacity to ask for more? Bad business. Poor ethics. All negativity aside, this is still probably the best DJ app available. But be careful when purchasing from this developer, you might wake up to find your money flushed down the drain. **Developer response:** Yes, we should do continuous research, development and updates for free instead! ### 2/5 — Not accessible for the blind *2021-04-12, version 10.4.1* I am a blind user that uses voiceover can you fix this? Thanks ### 2/5 — Please remove subscription pop up! *2020-12-28, version 10.4.0* This app is really awesome for scratching and mixing with one portable turntable . The split output really makes it awesome for having the scratching on one deck coming out the left and beats on the other deck coming out the right. My only complaint is the annoying pop up that muffles the audio . its a total vibe killer. It maybe you can have the pop up do its thing but not alter the audio out put? ### 2/5 — Deezer restrictions killed it. *2020-08-04, version 10.3.9* Restrictions only allowing you to mix some tracks in Deezer killed it for me. Lately I’ve extended my license with 5 more years. Just taking my old iPad AIR2, my old DDJ-SB, headphone and powered speakers. Never had a single glitch. Bear in mind that you HAVE TO BUY (in my case) the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter and if your controller doesn’t come with a power supply, you HAVE TO BUY an USB splitter with its own adapter/power supply. Otherwise your controller will not power up, or if it will, it will drain your iPone/iPad. Currently using 1 Pt-01 turntable w/ timecode record & akai amx mixer. Works flawless!! Took a second to learn the softwares layout & use “instant doubles” but I can now do a real DJ set with a 1 deck setup. Again read the freaking manual. It answers every question about mapping & getting the best performance of using timecode w/ a portable setup! ### 5/5 — Very good app!!!!! Works with DVS and great to sync other apps since you can share clock, link, etc. Stop investing in gear that only works with one app, thanks for supporting MIDI devs! ### 5/5 — The Best dj app on iOS HANDS DOWN! *2017-12-03, version 9.6* This is the best iOS dj app I've ever seen, not a toy. No other app can do provide such clear control over the music. It can actually be used for performances and works well. The software is solid and has all the basic dj functions crammed into an app. Awesome for practice while on the go. It had helped my dj skill move to the next level. The only thing I don't like is the subscription. $90 a year for an app seems way too expensive. PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING AN ADROID VERSION. Super low latency, all 4 tracks playing & my iPad battery lasts LAX to NYC mixing the entire flight (5hrs strong). They keep out developing themselves with more power and ease of features. I love this app using it frequently with my portablist (Numark PT01 & Vestax Handytrax)Dj setup and iPhone 6. Latency is less than 3m. Tighter than Traktor... I like how you can use different Timecode vinyl and adjust the settings to calibrate properly.
