### 1/5 — doesn’t work?

*2025-01-09, version 0.0.69*

so far since i’ve downloaded this app and tried to use it it’s just been a picture of an owl and then nothing else.. i was looking forward to using this app since it goes with my birds of canada guide

### 1/5 — App will not load

*2024-12-29*

We got the DK Birds of North America book and looked forward to also using the bird sound app. Unfortunately the app will not load.

### 1/5 — App won’t load

*2024-12-25*

App won’t go beyond the splash screen on iOS 18

### 1/5 — Just a picture

*2024-12-25*

Downloaded the app on both my iPhone and iPad and it only shows a picture. Can’t do anything with it. It’s non-functional.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Load

*2023-10-11*

Just purchased the book and was so excited about the app but it won’t load.

### 3/5 — Search function needs help

*2023-12-26*

Really appreciate the app, however it’s maddening to have to search the exact name of a bird in order to find anything. For instance, searching “cardinal” comes up with no results; you must type “northern cardinal”. Type in “red tailed hawk”? Nope, no results. Only “red-tailed hawk” will do. Maddening. Seems like a relatively simple update to the search function is all it would take to make the app infinitely more useful and enjoyable.

### 4/5 — Nearly perfect

*2022-03-20*

The app itself is ok, a little laggy but ok. The birds are accurate for the most part. Very helpful, but sometimes the search bar does not work.

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2022-03-01*

It’s a pretty good app, but it doesn’t have every bird I’m looking for. Some of the pictures for the birds are incorrect. The red-bellied woodpecker has the right call, but the picture displayed is a red-headed woodpecker

### 5/5 — To be used with DK book

*2025-11-09*

Excellent database of bird sounds that accompanies the DK Birds of North America book.

### 5/5 — Great addition to books

*2025-04-20, version 0.0.69*

Bought a DK bird book and found the app they advertise on the front cover. Works as expected and free.

## Most praised reviews (2 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — 10/10 college informative 👍

*2022-07-14*

Really awesome app that needs to be used with the book that I purchased at Barnes and Noble called Birds of North America from the Museum of Natural History! It shows the pictures exactly as they are and it’s totally free. I am phishing some birds from my backyard to do some studying so this is perfect for my realm of interest and I encourage everyone to get the book first before getting the app so you can see what I mean :). Anyways I absolutely love reading and learning more about these wonderful birds and the app definitely adds some depth to the reading experience! All I need now is a reptile version because I am quite the researcher and can never focus on one topic 😅. All in all absolutely love the amount of scientific research and wording that’s been done to make this book come to life! So for all those people who love birds or who are interested in birds would definitely get the book and app a try!

### 5/5 — Not bad

*2021-01-14, version 0.0.69*

I think that it is pretty good but the bird sounds are too less.
When I type another bird it doesn’t show its sound.
