### 3/5 — Bvnnn

*2019-12-29, version 1.6.23*

Nuff

### 3/5 — An Average App

*2018-10-06, version 1.6.8*

I have tried sending emails to the developer, but they don’t see how to enhance this app comparatively, can’t keep doing the homework for them. There is not much enhancement since the day I downloaded this app. 3 stars is all I can provide for this app.

**Developer response:** Alkanx - sorry that you chose to write and edit your response here - and then not send an email to us. We are STILL very confused about your problem.

In the List View (on iPhones) or on the Matrix View (on iPads), only the cameras that are in view are pulling from the cameras - and we intentionally only pull the one FPS feed from your camera on this. So, if you are having DISPLAY issues with the cameras, we would like to investigate with you.

The decision to not feed all cameras that are "under the fold" are not playing so as to save on bandwidth and battery - as our users requested.

I am the CEO of OWLR and you can reach me personally at urgent@owlr.com. I personally read these emails - and am very happy to work with you so you can answer our cute flag with an enthusiastic review instead of two negative ones.

Looking forward to solving this for you and our users.

### 4/5 — Slick interface

*2017-11-04, version 1.5.1*

I like that this app looks and responds like a modern app should. It supports my camera fine. I can almost use this exclusively instead of mydlink lite, but it does not (yet) allow review of SD card recordings.

**Developer response:** Hi BearBarkley - thank you very much for taking your time to review the app. We really appreciate it! Please get in touch with our team on support@owlr.com if you need assistance with anything in particular. Cheers and happy viewing!

### 5/5 — Great Camera, Great App!

*2017-08-17, version 1.4.0*

Love it, get one, you will not be disappointed!

### 4/5 — Great

*2017-08-09, version 1.4.0*

Just love it, quick and easy,

### 5/5 — Excellent, easy to setup/use

*2017-06-17, version 1.3.0*

I have found it much easier than dlink's app - and it's free 🙂

### 5/5 — Nice app

*2017-04-18, version 1.3.0*

Excellent app better than many others

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2017-04-10, version 1.1.0*

Works well with D-Link wifi cams, unlike the many other apps. Easy setup. Start using right away. I like it as an alternative. Best multi view app.

### 5/5 — Works good

*2017-04-09, version 1.2.1*

All functions available are fine. Could use audio but cam doesn't have it so that's mute. My FDT 1080P has all this but that's a different animal. Nice app overall.

### 5/5 — Love it on my iPad!

*2017-03-24, version 1.2.1*

So much easier to use than myDLink Lite app. Finding and connecting to my cameras was so easy - and no need to ask what model or hardware number. And I love the matrix view.

### 4/5 — Works great.

*2017-02-14, version 1.2.0*

Excellent app. Remote viewing works almost all of the time. Easy setup. Highly recommend.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What happened? It was working fine and now nothing?

*2022-05-04, version 1.6.25*

Keeps asking me for location services? They are on!!!

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2021-08-17, version 1.6.24*

I have 2 D-Link cameras, neither one will work with this app because the app finds your cameras but there is no way on the original app to find your user name and yes I tried my email I used in the beginning when I registered and used the app.

### 1/5 — Ok App, asks for location permissions when not needed

*2021-04-12, version 1.6.24*

Update: A year later, still the same behavior. At this point, I’ve removed this app in favor of a netter one, that doesn’t constantly pester me to give it information it has no need of.

When I first started using this app, it asked only once about external access, and then pretty much left it alone. The current version is constantly asking me to give it permissions for location data. I only use this app at home, on my own network. There is ZERO legitimate reason for the app to continuously ask me to give it permission to access my location data. Hence, only 2 stars when it could have been 3 or 4.

**Developer response:** Due to security changes with Apple, and our focus on your privacy, the OWLR app ITSELF needs Location Permissions to distinguish if your PHONE is in or out of your home.  OWLR does not get any of your private location data.  If you are only watching WITHIN your home, then reject permissions. But incase, if you are asked for the permission again and again even after rejecting it, please write to our customer service at support@owlr.com, so we can help to fix it.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2019-11-11, version 1.6.23*

The app had no problem finding my camera, but when I hit the setup button it said they couldn’t find it. I’m using the mydlink lite app right now with no problem. I would really like to try this app out but I can’t get to my camera. I tried to send feedback but when I typed into the boxes nothing was entered.

**Developer response:** Hi there, we appreciate your feedback and very sorry for the inconvenience caused. Can you please share your camera model number with our customer service team at support@owlr.com so we can look into the matter and help you out.

### 1/5 — Worked, broke, fixed, busted

*2019-05-29, version 1.6.16*

UPDATE: (after developer response)
I originally posted this review three years ago and took the developer that long to respond. I already had been a beta tester, often chastised and criticized when I pointed out problems I was having.

It’s kind of why I left the app where it was when I wrote the review. After three years of silence, not getting help - being asked to install & try the app again is a little hard to swallow.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
worked closely withI was a tester, twice, and all seemed fixed until I downloaded most recent non- beta version - and now - I can't get live camera even though crossed referenced with other APIs that access cameras.

Had high hopes. Will this be fixed. More beta testing?? Deleted and one star until latest version Owlr dlink is fixed and working.

**Developer response:** We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Our App has improved multiple folds - would you mind using our App for your cameras and see how it surprises you?

If you want to discuss your issue in detail - please send us an In-App Feedback so that we can examine the situation better and help you solve the problem.

### 1/5 — Tech support stinks.

*2017-10-26, version 1.5.1*

They have a robot answer emails that refers you to their web page for answers. Went there and did what was suggested and of course it didn't work and I had to go back to my old camera app to get my camera working again. Had a couple more exchanges with their robot and it seemed that I got an answer from a real human offering to talk on the phone. I sent my number and never heard from them.

**Developer response:** Hi RioHondoHank - we apologise for the complaint that you are raising. We had a time that we were understaffed but now we have a committed support team that is always happy to assist, please send us an email to support@owlr.com if you need any help. Cheers and happy viewing!

### 1/5 — Doesn't work with Airport Extreme.

*2016-07-04, version 0.9.14*

Camera- Dlink 5029L.
Update July 4th 2016:
Upgraded my router to Apple Airport Extreme. App detects the camera and shows the screen capture but doesn't work when I try to open it. Gets stuck on loading. Tried several things but the issue still exists.
Update July 24th 2015 :
I was able to enable port forward which made it work externally too. GREAT!!
How should one add my camera if they are externally located? I setup the ddns and I can access using that through the browser but doesn't work when I try to manually add the camera. Basically I want to add the camera even if I am externally located so that my remote family can check out the camera too.

------
Found the camera and I was using it in seconds. Doesn't work on LTE. Showed some message about uPNP for external use. Have to see what that is. Once that works, I will easily give this a 5star. Much reliable than the official dlink lite app. Thank you OWLR!

### 2/5 — Hacking

*2022-08-20, version 1.6.25*

To easy to hack into!

### 2/5 — feedback

*2022-03-17, version 1.6.25*

This camera app is used for my kiddos daycare. I connected just fine to the cameras and it was working great. However now, it states an “can’t get it” error when trying to view the live feed.

Snapshots work just fine but the second I click on the camera to view the live feed, it states there is no connection.

I haven’t had any issues prior. This just started. I have deleted the app, I’ve restarted my phone. None of it works and I know a couple out people having the same issues and we all have IPhones.

### 2/5 — Meh

*2018-12-06, version 1.6.14*

Better than the DLink app but still not great. Motion detection is bunk. Don’t bother paying for it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App

### 5/5 — Greate app

*2018-09-04, version 1.6.5*

Nice, easy and reliable.

### 5/5 — Cool set up

*2018-09-03, version 1.6.5*

I love how you can check it anywhere!!

### 5/5 — If you have Dlink cameras you need this app

*2018-09-02, version 1.6.5*

I've had Dlink cameras for years but I finally upgraded to the new generation of cloud cameras recently. I didn't really like the my-Dlink app... It was slow and didn't allow sharing the cameras without giving away your password. I tried several other ip camera apps until I found this one. I like the speed, and preview layout... It's all very intuitive. When I ran into a technical issue, I had an email response the next day, with suggestions on how I could improve my camera and router configuration. This kind of customer service is all too rare these days, especially for smart phone apps. This is a great app with great customer support.

### 5/5 — DLink Multiview Camera

*2018-08-24, version 1.6.3*

Great app and much better than using DLink app.

### 5/5 — App

*2018-08-21, version 1.6.3*

The best app I usually use

### 5/5 — Great webcam monitor

*2018-08-17, version 1.6.3*

Very convenient, reliable webcam viewer. Works on site and over the web with a little setup. Very pleased with this useful utility.

### 5/5 — So much

*2018-08-14, version 1.6.3*

So much better than the default app for external viewing

**Developer response:** Yay! Thanks a lot for the feedback, Booming Boomer.

### 5/5 — No issues

*2018-08-14, version 1.6.3*

Works great

### 5/5 — Better way to watch Dlink cameras

*2018-08-14, version 1.6.3*

This is a very useful app. I can easily view my local Dlink cameras
Without having to sign in to MyDlink. If I get a motion alert, I go to OWLR to see what’s going on.
No timeouts while viewing. Nice!
