Only downside is the Bluetooth module attenuates my output by half and makes the sub emit random frequencies when the car is off. When I remove the dongle the volume is restored and the sub settles down.🤷🏼‍♂️ ### 3/5 — Update is needed. *2023-02-22, version 1.0.18* App needs to be updated for compatibility with new version v1.4. ### 1/5 — Waste of Time *2021-09-15, version 1.0.16* I have three on three amps in two vehicles. Connection is intermittent and buggy. Not worth the trouble (at all). ### 4/5 — Crossover settings. *2020-10-22, version 01* You really need to make the lowest setting on the crossovers to 20hz instead of 25hz. Also ability to change EQ frequencies. I’ve sold more of the Dayton audio dsp because of this. Bass heads want total control of hair trick bass. If this is done then your dsp will be the ultimate on the market. ### 3/5 — Great when it works *2020-07-29, version 01* The software for iOS is a hit or miss. On the iPhone, the controls are so squished together it’s hard to manipulate. However on the iPad there is more screen real estate that allows better use. After contacting support, whenever the app is updated, you must use a laptop to update the firmware on the DSP in order for the apps to work correctly. ### 1/5 — Crap *2020-04-25, version 01* Cant do jack now with dm-810 . The software and the firmware is updated. Now what. I am disappointed, I got the DM-810, Bluetooth module, remote control nob. I am having issue saving from mobile device. I update the firmware on a Windows pc and when you use the app on your Mac it is tell you you to upgrade firmware. I know I have the current firmware. Now I stuck with this. I should I keep my old DQX-S. But no I want to Bluetooth Control now I have no control ### 5/5 — WORKS !!! *2019-12-06, version 1.0* I also thought the app didn’t work but I did upgrade to the newest firmware via pc .. Mac doesn’t offer newest version ..anyways I connected my iPad Pro 2nd gen and didn’t show up son the app so I gave up like previous time but I didn’t close the app or disconnect the adapter so at the end of my drive I saw the Bluetooth dongle flashing green which means the app is connected and I when to check my iPad I sure behold it asked me to confirm which dongle it was and put the default pin in and it worked .. showed all my previous data saved from the computer .. so give it couple mins to connect and it should work :) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No funciona *2024-11-10, version 2.06* Hace un año les escribí reseña y aún no lo solucionan ### 1/5 — Buggy *2023-09-22, version 1.0.19* That’s putting it mildly. Sometimes you get lucky and it works, most other times it won’t connect or it causes the amp to freeze up, and a restart is needed. Really a shame an American company can put out such buggy software and hardware like this. And it’s not like these Amps are cheap. Please hire better embedded systems people. ### 1/5 — Still waiting on latest update…. *2023-05-14* Still dragging my laptop into the car when I’d rather use my phone ☹️ ### 1/5 — Stopped working recently *2023-03-11, version 1.0.18* A few weeks ago the app started showing a message that my amp’s firmware is not the one the app expects to see. AudioControl’s website shows I have the latest firmware release, but I updated the amp to the latest beta firmware release to see if that was the issue. Now the app still shows the same message, but doesn’t connect at all. The Bluetooth functionality that cost extra is now basically worthless. ### 1/5 — What Happened ? *2023-02-04, version 1.0.18* The last revision was great. Now what’s going on ? I open the app this morning and it’s reverted back to the old version ! Both phone and iPad. I go to App Store and see it was revised. I love your product guys but let’s get with the program here. I’ve put up with the connectivity issues in exchange for an amazing DSP but now what ? If this isn’t fixed I’m jumping ship and getting on board with JL Audio. Please don’t make me do that. Thank you. ### 1/5 — Awefull *2022-10-02, version 1.0.16* Can’t even connect via Bluetooth. Have to pay extra for this stupid device and the app doesn’t even recognize it. I can connect usb no problem. My phone also connects in iPhone Bluetooth settings to the device, but app doesn’t notice it. Wish this operated like my ear pods. Good lord feel like I’m going back to 2005 trying to connect to this dang thing. ### 1/5 — Very difficult to connect *2022-09-17, version 1.0.16* Doesn’t show version number, not able to connect easily. Just bought device. Pain in the neck. Current setting makes the speakers sound terrible. ### 1/5 — Bluetooth has trouble connecting app with DSP *2022-01-18, version 1.0.16* Lots of trouble connecting to DSP using Bluetooth. Have to power down vehicle by disconnecting battery negative terminal or disconnect negative cable at amp. Unplug BT 24 from amp, delete and reinstall app, several times to establish app to BT 24 communication. Lots of wasted time. Recommend using computer. DO NOT TRUST BT24. Good Luck. ### 1/5 — Audio control Bluetooth interface is a farce *2021-12-01, version 1.0.16* Zero stars! Just purchased d61200 and the bt24...with iPad 6’ unobstructed from the the Bluetooth / d61200 it is intermittent . Drops connection randomly from 2 minutes , but apparently once the voodoo gods graced the airwaves and the Bluetooth stayed connected for almost an hour. The only remedy has been to delete then reload the software, to repeat the cycle of useless bluetoothness. Audio Control customer service blamed my hardware/IPad. Told me the unit needs to be hard connected to a computer with a cable. Why advertise & sell a $129 Bluetooth transponder? The software is severely flawed and it appears as tho Audio Control has no intention to fix the glitch. Similar archived complaints go back years. Intend to return this way over touted & overpriced amp ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work!! *2021-10-11, version 1.0.16* I bought the Bluetooth adapter for my DM-608 because I don’t have a laptop to connect to it, but this app doesn’t work to set you’re crossovers or inputs or nothing the Bluetooth adapter only works to stream music you will need a laptop to set you’re levels anyway this if you want to set you’re levels and crossovers from you’re iPad forget about it. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Finally a DSP for EVERYONE!!! *2024-01-18, version 1.0.21* From a 2024 car with all the bells whistles to a 1950s classic this product will cater to everyone. Want to keep the factory old school radio look? Use the AC-BT24 and just stream your music!! New modern cars that have the “premium” sound you can also use the app to make all your adjustments, easily adjust stored file to show someone what it would sound like without a dsp and switch over to what one sounds like properly tuned!!! Audiocontrol for the win AGAIN!!! ### 5/5 — Works fantastic now! *2024-01-17, version 1.0.21* Was a little slow in the past, with a few bugs, but seems to work smooth and fast now that AudioControl has released software and firmware updates over the past year. If you tried it before and were disappointed, make sure your DM-608/DM-810 or D series amplifier has been plugged into a computer and updated to the latest firmware from the AudioControl website, then try it again. It’s working great for me now and has been super reliable for the last 6+ months. ### 5/5 — New software is amazing! *2024-01-17, version 1.0.21* So happy to see these new features and the updates for my DSP. I was really thinking about getting a new different unit, but not anymore! Super happy! ### 5/5 — Works great! *2023-11-13* AudioControl has put in a ton of time and effort in making everything work beautifully. The app and the hardware it’s connected to work beautifully. Please, If you can’t get it to connect to your mobile device via the AC-BT24, or can’t figure out the DM-SmartDSP app at all, call their tech support. They have real, live humans that can actually help! Ever since they dropped a major update earlier this year though, not only does my AC-BT24 work super reliably, but you also now get a bunch of great new features (for free). You’ll get the newest features even if you bought your AudioControl DSP or DSP amplifier years ago, and now you get better crossover options, parametric and graphic EQ choices, better options for storing settings independently for each DSP preset, not to mention you can now bypass the crossover altogether, which is great for those that want to do hair tricks with bass or whatever you’re into. If you haven’t updated in awhile, go to their website and give it a try.
