First, after the recent update, the effects may or may not work at all (Particularly envelope). Another issue is exporting: separating bass and drums is not easy. Muting one or the other doesn’t work, nor does turning them off. Nor does exporting them individually via the app design work. You literally have to copy the project two additional times and delete each copy down to what you want to have in your recorded track—not workflow compatible, but at least it is a workaround. It isn’t my device, either—it has remained an issue across ipads from Mini to Air to Pro. But overall, it lets me compose in chunks and hear multiple parts at once, which is a great baseline. Aside from these, a few excellent improvements would be to allow X4 rather than simply X2 (8/4) measures. This would greatly expand the app’s usability and allow it to actually be a self-contained solution for bass and drums that performed at a higher level. ### 4/5 — Not that different from DM1 but a good value *2026-07-03* The app does not feel that much different from the original DM1, despite all its new features. It feels like very early days of iOS music apps. That’s because of its rigid grid and no ability to create patterns that don’t sound robotic. Ability to record non quantized notes or at least ability to offset steps’ timing is what sets modern sequencer apps apart. ### 5/5 — Love DM10 *2025-11-22* Easy to use and intuitive. One needed update is the ability to more keyboard range for bass and lead. This is relate missing… ### 3/5 — DM1の進化版 *2025-09-03* DM1で遊んでいた人なら違和感なく遊べると思う。ランダマイズ機能が追加された事でずっと弄っていられる。 ただ、画面がアップしたまま固まる、他のアプリからは立ち上がらないなど、バグが多く、バグが治るまで購入は控えても良いかも。 これ単品で曲作りが出来るものではないが、ドラムマシンとしては優秀。シンセ部分はオマケ程度として考えた方が良い。 ### 4/5 — Finally, reunited! *2025-08-12* I have to say that I’m finally happy to be reunited with a music drum app that I’m highly familiar with. Going back to when I started music production on the iPad, DM1 was my first drum music app I used to make my music and loved it! I’m reserving one star until the Audio Unit multi out is added in a future update so I can separate each drum track on its own track in AUM. Other than that, this app is good. 👍🏾 ### 3/5 — external midi clock not syncing *2025-07-16* It will sync the bpm, but not the song pointer position (SPP). This is a critical feature that without, makes it virtually unusable as an audio unit within a host DAW. I am hopeful they add support for this soon as I would really like to use this app within my workflows in Loopy and Cubasis. As it is, it gets out of sync and misses notes. It’s like it has a clock delay. **Developer response:** A new DM10 3.1 update is now available, this update fixes the song pointer position sync with DM10 AudioUnit and the host DAW. Please install it, thanks! ### 4/5 — Audio Unit läuft nicht *2025-07-07* Leider läuft AU nicht in LogicPro und Maschine 3. In GarageBand funktioniert es komischerweise. Ansonsten macht die App Spaß und ist intuitiv zu bedienen. This causes unintended triggers and makes basic programming impossible. I want my 15$ back! **Developer response:** Sorry that DM10 does not work as you wish. Je regrette amèrement mon achat. ### 1/5 — Nope *2025-02-15* Ziemlich grandiose Enttäuschung, speziell wie diese Nachfolge-App angekündigt wurde. Habe vor kurzem erst die DM1 App gekauft und finde in der Praxis keine wesentlichen Unterschiede zu diesem Nachfolger, welche den aktuellen ‘Angebotspreis’ von 10 Euro rechtfertigen, noch weniger den angekündigten höheren Preis der später kommen soll. **Developer response:** One star rating is harsh... For your information, the main difference between DM10 and DM10 is the AudioUnit support, and we had to rebuild the app entirely to add that, which is a lot of works for a small team like us. We also added Bass & Lead synth, polyrhythmic tracks, triplets and others new features. And we are now working on new features for DM10 (steps randomization, steps probability and mutation, tempo per pattern, ...). ### 2/5 — Laggy and Buggy *2025-12-25, version 4.1.2* I loved DM1 and was expecting a nice iCloud sync but the app is soo slow and so buggy. Die neuen Funktionen wie die Bass-/Synth-Erweiterung, zusätzliche FX und polymetrische Stepsequenzen sind zwar nette Ergänzungen, aber insgesamt rechtfertigen sie den DM10 nicht wirklich als würdigen Nachfolger des DM1. Besonders enttäuschend ist das UI der iPhone-Version: Es ist nur noch im Landscape-Modus nutzbar, wodurch alles unnötig klein und unübersichtlich wirkt. Ich hoffe, dass die angekündigten Features nachgereicht werden – dann gibt es auch mehr Sterne. Stand heute (13. Februar) kann ich den Kauf nicht empfehlen, insbesondere nicht für Nutzer des DM1, für die diese App derzeit keinen echten Mehrwert bietet. **Developer response:** We couldn't made a DM1 update has we had to rebuild entirly the app to add AudioUnit support, and the songs for the DM1 existing users would have sound too differently. This is why we made a new app. DM1 is a 12 years old app and DM10 needed to start on a fresh basis. If you’re looking to experiment, jam, hav fun, and be creative, this app has a lot to offer. I have several excellent drum apps with more features, but I keep going back to this one for a good time, and zero stress and a very quick workflow. It is incredible how you made this work flawlessly on ALL platforms (iPhone, iPad and Mac). You can try something out on your iPhone while commuting on public transport and later integrate that idea on your Mac — in your preferred DAW of choice (e. g. Logic Pro on Apple Silicon M4 Pro). WOW! How can some people possibly complain about these ten bucks??? This app is a steal — and you totally deserve this success on the Apple App Store. Been a fan of Fingerlabs since DM1 and love working the app on standalone, as well as in AUM when I’m ready to record my drums. Speaking of AUM, the only thing that would make this drum app top notch would be if multi-bus was added so I can spread the drum tracks out on its own in AUM. Other than that, this drum app definitely shares the same spotlight with Hammerhead.
