### 1/5 — The gender toggle is broken, Profile crashes when clicked

*2019-01-25, version 1.3.0*

Actually to the other reviewer, you can choose Imperial instead of metric. But there are other things wrong with this app. I cannot choose Female for gender- it keeps reverting back to Male before you can click Done. Also if you skip the Profile setup on beginning, and try to edit it later, Profile crashes the app entirely.

I was slightly excited about the options and look of it but can’t get it to work right.

**Developer response:** Hi there,
Apologies for that - we had a bug which has just been fixed. You should now be able to set your gender as female, and the app should no longer be crashing. It would be great if you could take another look and let us know what you think.
We love getting feedback from our customers and would love to hear your your thoughts, so we can make this app better for you. Please do contact me on product@dnafit.com.
Have a great day,

### 1/5 — Not ideal for Americans

*2019-01-09, version 1.3.0*

One of the big problems when you go to do the evaluation is you have to choose imperial or metric. If you choose imperial it wants your weight in stone a measurement used only in the UK. There isn’t an option to just do your weight in pounds. So I find myself doing the conversation to kilos as it feels less awkward than stone.

More to the point why doesn’t it just read that data out of HealthKit? I have a connected scale so weight measurements are always up to date in there and it could pull the other body measurements I have entered from there as well (height and waist).

The app needs a lot of work.

### 1/5 — Everyone is Male!

*2019-01-02, version 1.3.0*

Can’t change gender in profile.
Just use the site.

### 1/5 — Buggy, very buggy

*2018-12-09, version 1.3.0*

I guess everyone is male, as you can’t change your profile gender. App crashes if you use the next button to step through your profile. No English units, seriously?

### 1/5 — No data

*2018-12-04, version 1.3.0*

I also couldn’t access my data

### 1/5 — Weak app, otherwise comprehensive

*2018-11-24, version 1.2.0*

Purchased dna report; available through website but app says I haven’t purchased. Meal planning on website quite nice, but not available through app. FYI, dna report did finally load after multiple logins and hours of attempts to open.

**Developer response:** Hi Kestrel
Sorry to hear you were having issues. We've fixed the bug so your reports should load now. We've had feedback from some additional customers that they would like to see the mealplanning feature on the app, so we are working to include that in the next release. If you would like to send me a quick email on product@dnafit.com I'd be happy to notify you when we launch that feature.
We love getting feedback from our customers, so please do feel free to contact me with any other thoughts/comments.
Have a great day,
Ruth

### 1/5 — Signed in- no further

*2018-10-02, version 1.1.0*

Can’t get through the first screen after logging in. App asks for identifying info. Can’t get beyond basic identifying info. App hasn’t worked properly to give full rating yet.

### 1/5 — App is a joke

*2018-09-20, version 1.1.0*

Cant sign in, waste of time.

### 1/5 — Constant timeouts

*2018-09-11, version 1.0*

App constantly times out logging or updating information. This app shouldn’t have been released. When the app timeout there is no information to indicate why, or if there was a failed verification of user input

**Developer response:** Hi there,
Apologies for the issues you were having. We've fixed a couple bugs and this should no longer be an issue for you. We'd love for you to take another look and let us know what you think.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Major usability issues

*2021-02-13, version 1.14.4*

I’ll qualify this by saying I am a UX Designer. The app looks nice on the dashboard but beyond that, there are some issues that make it essentially worthless.

The reports do not load nor is there a loading indicator to show whether anything is actually responding. Not sure if it needs time to load (if so, performance is poor) or if it’s just broken.

One link led to a page with a 500 error. And majority of the links that do work go off to external, non app pages.

What is the point of this application that I am repeatedly pushed to download in all of DNAfit’s marketing materials?

### 1/5 — Update App!!!

*2020-12-28, version 1.14.4*

Every time I try to look at the fitness section the app crashes!!
Paid money for this!!??

### 1/5 — Super disappointed

*2020-05-22, version 1.14.4*

I paid a lot of money for this service. I wish I’d spent it somewhere else. The app has not been updated in a while and it keeps crashing when trying to pull my fitness results. You can see the information on the website but there isn’t enough information for you to be able to improve yourself.

### 1/5 — Frustrating!

*2020-01-20, version 1.14.0*

I want to dive into the fitness and nutrition aspects of my results and the DNAFit app continues to crash when seeking expounded results. FRUSTRATING that i paid for this and cannot reap the rewards from its results.

### 1/5 — Not great

*2019-08-21, version 1.9.0*

DNAfit doesn’t see fit to have their app update with your info, which, for some reason, you have to re upload from time to time. I’ve paid for the stress update, which is supposed to show up on the app, but no, it doesn’t. Even though I did re upload my dna the app doesn’t reflect that.
Beyond that, the info gleaned is pretty shallow, though better than nothing. You can probably get better, more precise info from people like Debbie Moon and others who look at specifics SNPs. Ah well. I believed the hype. The stress bundle is supposed to come with a consult, but you can’t set that up until you’ve examined your results, but you can’t get them until you re-upload your dna. If you’ve got a life, this is too much fuss.

### 1/5 — App does not work.

*2019-08-03, version 1.9.0*

The website is good but the app isn't functional. Super buggy, couldn't get past the first page of it requesting info.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2019-07-10, version 1.8.0*

As much as we payed for this DNA test the least they could do is have an app that works. It too forever and a lot of complaints to get my results to show on the app. The birthday toggle keeps reverting back to some random day that is not my date of birth. Half of my info isn’t available on the app and the info that is there is not very helpful. I would not recommend anyone use this company.

### 1/5 — Useless, non actionable results

*2019-07-02, version 1.7.0*

American user here. Nothing that was returned in the results had any factor that I felt was useful (compared to the hype). Celiac? Test said no, but I definitely have an intolerance. Caffeine metabolizing fast? Not useful.

Wish I could get my money back from this test.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2019-03-05, version 1.4.0*

Won’t even let me get past the information stage without crashing or freezing up.

### 1/5 — The app is not user friendly...

*2019-01-28, version 1.3.0*

I will revise the star rating when the app is fixed: I cannot select FEMALE as my gender. I scroll down to female from the default MALE option and it scrolls back automatically to MALE and won’t stay at female. So I cannot accurately complete this survey. As one person already mentioned, if I’m measuring myself with the imperial system, then I should be able to measure myself with inches and pounds, not stones? Fix the app, please!

**Developer response:** Hi,

Thank you for contacting DNAFit. It is always a pleasure to touch base with a member of the DNAFit family.

We do regret your experience with the App and the selection options.

Please provide us with more information at info@dnafit.com and we will be glad to further investigate this matter.

Thank You,
The DNAFit Team

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Cannot upload

*2020-01-30, version 1.14.0*

This app and system is the worst. It doesn’t allow you to upload your DNA.

### 5/5 — DNifty

*2019-02-04, version 1.3.0*

Nifty lil app, nice feature being able to share results with others. Would be cool to see the exercise platform within the app, too.

**Developer response:** Hi Alessandro,

Thank you for contacting DNAFit. It is always a pleasure to touch base with a member of the DNAFit family.

We are so glad that you have enjoyed your app experience.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2019-01-29, version 1.3.0*

Loving this app so far and how clean and simple the interface is. Really makes it easy to optimize fitness and diet goals and see everything in one place.. Only wish the exercise platform was integrated into the app.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear that you are enjoying the app - we'll be launching the exercise platform on the app in the next few months!

### 5/5 — Cool and simple

*2019-01-28, version 1.3.0*

Easy way to check your DNA results and user friendly. Can even check the exact generic variants and evidence!

### 4/5 — Top Notch Service, App Needs a Little Work

*2020-02-04, version 1.14.0*

The product is great, the value is immeasurable and the recommendations from the dietician were spot on (and felt like they were customized just for me)!

The app could be improved upon a bit but it is servicable. With that said, the overall product/service was well worth it!

### 2/5 — Basic info, BAD app

*2020-04-27, version 1.14.2*

I got this on sale, is not worth full price. Some of the info is useful but there is not enough detail to be useful. They keep trying to up sell more products. The app is terrible, it won’t load and keeps asking me to log in even after I have.

### 2/5 — Good information; not good for $

*2019-07-28, version 1.9.0*

Took my 23&me results and sent them to this company and expected a lot more.
While I did get get some reports which were good initially, the company wants money for everything else meanwhile 23&Me is slowly doing everything they do. So why pay a premium ? This the company has to answer. They do some good stuff but I paid big $$ for this and don’t have access to everything available? Come on - 23&Me is constantly providing me new and updated information without additional cost.
Guys, you had a good thing—stop wringing users dry. Provide updated and accessible data for those that pay the steep fee for this. I expected that and haven’t received that.

### 2/5 — I’m not a male!

*2019-01-20, version 1.3.0*

Functionally, the app displays my data, but it will not allow me to select female for gender. I scroll down to female, but it immediately scrolls back up to male. Frustrating!
