## What is Do The Thing?

Created by a writer, parent, and ambitious human with ADHD, Do The Thing will help you cut through overwhelm and get a handle on your to-do list.

This is a passion project to create the tool I needed. I hope it helps you too!

Improvements:
* Toggle between things done today, yesterday, or this week in Done Today view
* Easily navigate to backup directory from Import/Export/Backup view
* Smart Sort toggle now immediately reloads task list

Bug Fixes:
* Correct occasional duplication of projects and tasks displayed in Done Today view
* Backup tool now shows date of last backup more reliably
* Completed tasks no longer show up in “Expiring Soon” section of Open Loops

* Toggle to exclude projects with active Waiting or Delegated tasks from Open Loops view

   * Last backup date in Import/Export screen
   * "Needs a next action" warning text in Project List

### 2025.06 — 2025-09-25

This update fixes a bug that prevented new multi-step tasks from appearing instantly in the Projects tab.

### 2025.05 — 2025-09-22

Huge changes under the hood for a more responsive experience throughout the app. Plus a few bug fixes you can actually see:
* Home screen event list instantly refreshes any time a new event is added to your calendars
* Task and Project view title fields are more readable
* Import/Export screen provides more feedback and information about import and export processes

### 2025.04 — 2025-08-20

This update refreshes the look and feel of the home screen and gets Do The Thing ready for iOS 26. There are still a few minor kinks to work out, so please keep an eye out for another update in the next month or two. 

Other changes of note:
 * Button at the bottom of task and project editor views now saves and exits when creating a new task or project, instead of the usual option to mark complete/closed
 * Support for iOS 16 has been dropped in this version
