One guy was not willing to get a permit, so that was dead. I did finish one job with a good review. After that, haven’t heard from Donny in over a year. Support is nonexistent, I believe they only want your information. ### 1/5 — No jobs *2024-06-22* I’ve been with Dobby Pro for over a year, but they do not send any jobs. I’ve completed one, and received a great review. Since then, nothing. I’ve tried reaching out and they said they will send me jobs but never do. Waste of time. I landed to Dobby because of a friend, but he warned me about a problem he had with one of the representatives. Anyway, I decided to do it. At the beginning you start filling everything out, basic details. After that I got few jobs because of them, from 10 jobs I estimated I lost 7 and got 3 out of 7. Because to my price that was really fair enough I had to add 20% more for their commission. I was loosing a lot opportunities. Also I got two jobs that were confirmed with the customers and I was gonna schedule them, but Dobby sent me a message that the customers were not gonna move forward. But to short my story, they kicked me out from the app for no reason, they just deleted it. I’ve done Thumbtack for about 5 years, they send you the lead and you pay per lead. I’d rather use thumbtack thank Dobby. But anyway thanks because I got few opportunities because of them. **Developer response:** Hey Kevin, Thank you for the feedback. Dobby is a totally free platform for our service pros - but to continue to operate through Dobby, our service pros need to win at least 60% of the jobs. Your lifetime win rate was 17%. We sent you 36 jobs, you accepted 29 jobs, completed only 5. You have all 5-star ratings on those 5 jobs. Dobby is not a lead generation platform like Thumbtack. So we don't make money until you (service pro) make money. And you don't make money until the job is done with 5-star reviews for the homeowner. We kept everything on the platform free (marketing to back office support to payment processing) - but every Dobby pro needs to maintain 98% 5-star ratings and at least 60% win rate (we also don't send our jobs to multiple pros at the same time - that's why winning jobs matter significantly for us). We see that you (KB Landscaping and Tree Services, LLC) were hired 66 times in 5 years on Thumbtack (as of March 2024), so that's 13 jobs per year. We're very happy that lead generation model is working for you. We usually work with pros with a larger volume (200+ jobs per year) - as Dobby is using a property management model. When I asked about what terms I agreed to and how I agreed to it and asked them why I can’t find the terms of our partnership anywhere my account was promptly deleted. Highly deceptive business practice. You’re essentially an employee without a contract. They say they provide full back office support, but they hide customer information like phone and email, turns out they are not my customers but theirs, you essentially have a boss that can make up the rules as he chooses and you just agreed to it in perpetuity. I feel scammed. This is not the partnership they sell to you when you first get onboarded. **Developer response:** Dobby is a property management platform and it doesn't sell leads to the providers. Providers join the Dobby platform by showing 5-star quality services and use Dobby software for free, access our customer success for free, get jobs for free, and use Dobby's payment processing for free. Dobby only makes money from member homeowners via a markup after the provider is paid - and is absolutely committed to protect personal information of the homeowners and service providers. The quality of their team and the quality of their clients (Dobby Community) are pure joy to work with. I own a home services company and a real estate business and Dobby is my one and only partner for all new business. Dobby is not for every service provider, they demand professionalism and a higher level of service which is more than welcomed. Not only do they have the fairest payout amongst other competitors, but getting in touch with the necessary staff is not difficult when it becomes necessary. Unlike other service providing apps, Dobby stays in tune with all currently opened jobs to assure a good experience for the customer, as well as the Pro. Customers don’t have to spend time trying to communicate with an automated system, Dobby always has staff available to accommodate customer needs when a pro might be busy. Dobby's policy is just amazing, I've already earned about 3 thousand in a couple of months, this not so much compared to TT, but how much did I spend in TT on contracts - more than 3 thousand in 2 months, how much did I spend in Dobby?? $0.
