## What is dock?

dock-g is the native iOS companion for Dockge – the popular self-hosted Docker stack manager. Built for homelab enthusiasts who want full control over their containers, wherever they are.

Connect to your Dockge server and see all running stacks at a glance, including live CPU, RAM and disk usage. Start, stop, restart, update or remove stacks in seconds. Dive into Compose YAML, environment variables, service status and live logs – all right inside the app. Search your stacks, refresh with pull-to-refresh, and create new stacks straight from your iPhone or iPad.

Find out what your host is really doing. The new Resource Usage view shows CPU, RAM and disk usage per stack – ranked, with a clear donut chart on top. Switch between CPU, RAM and Disk with a tap, spot resource hogs at a glance, and refresh the numbers live from your Dockge host.

dock-g automatically detects Dockge Enhanced and unlocks a full set of advanced features.

Monitoring Dashboard: One screen, four tiles – backup status, pending image updates, critical CVEs and your next scheduled scan. Each tile takes you straight to the matching detail view.

Image Watcher: Track Docker image updates across all your stacks. Filter by status – updates available, errors, ignored – and trigger a fresh check with a single tap.

Trivy CVE Scanner: Scan every image in your homelab for known vulnerabilities. Browse results by severity (Critical, High, Medium, Low), filter by tapping the severity cards, and open any CVE directly in your browser.

Backup & Snapshots: Run Restic backups on demand, monitor their history and browse snapshots file by file. Restore individual files or entire snapshots right from your iPhone. Schedules, on-save triggers and restore tests can all be configured directly in the app.

Docker Resources: Manage images, volumes and containers – inspect sizes and states, stop containers, delete resources and prune dangling images, with a confirmation step before every destructive action.

Crash Loop Detection: Surfaces containers that restart too often. Set per-container ignore rules for 1 hour, 24 hours or permanently – keeping your monitoring clean and relevant.

No third-party app required. dock-g includes a full SSH client, built from the ground up with Apple's Network.framework and CryptoKit. It works on your local network only (RFC 1918) – no accidental cloud exposure. Host keys are verified with Trust on First Use and stored in the Keychain. A special-keys bar brings Ctrl, Tab, Esc, pipe, tilde and arrow keys to your iPhone, and four terminal themes are available: Default, Solarized Dark, Monokai and Nord. On launch, dock-g automatically reconnects to your last server, and from the services view you can jump straight into any running container via docker exec.

dock-g is a one-time purchase with no subscription and no tracking. Your server credentials never leave your device – authentication tokens are stored exclusively in the iOS Keychain.

Requires Dockge 1.x or Dockge Enhanced on your local network. Supports iPhone and iPad.

### 5/5 — Some slight room for improvement, but a very handy utility nonetheless.

*2026-05-09*

Nice little utility app if you are using Dockge, really handy, especially because the Dockge webinterface is quite clunky in a mobile browser.

My only complaint would be that it doesn’t seem to be able to show the current status of the services running in a given stack, as they are displayed as unknown, even though are are displayed as healthy in the web interface.

Still, the app is very handy for quickly taking a peek at the logs or restarting/updating containers, and well worth the small price in my opinion!

**Developer response:** Dear konstantin_de,

Thanks for the detailed feedback – and glad dock-g is saving you from the mobile browser struggle! 😄
The service status issue is a known limitation and already on my list – it'll be fixed in the next update.
Appreciate the honest review!

Warm regards
Sven

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.8 — 2026-08-22

New in 1.8:
• Per-container resources: tap CPU/RAM/Disk in the stacks overview to open a view with a donut of the top consumers and an expandable list
• Host trend of the last hour with a selectable time range (CPU/RAM/Disk)
• Direct link to release notes / repository per service – source derived from compose.yaml, exact via the OCI label

### 1.7 — 2026-07-31

New in 1.7:
• Hide stacks from the list – tuck away folders like "lost+found" with one tap, restore anytime
• Clearer errors: dismissible banners with Retry and Reconnect actions
• Archive is easier to find – explained empty state and an always-visible filter
• Create stack: "Deploy" and "Save Draft" are now clear buttons
• compose.yaml validator with syntax checking in the editor
• A hint about Dockge-Enhanced for matching servers
• Better accessibility: Dynamic Type and VoiceOver labels

Fixed:
• Connection kept dropping – now stable
• Stopped stacks show a disclosure arrow again
• Filter bar no longer jumps; the active filter is never lost
• "Down" now asks for confirmation
• More reliable splash screen and onboarding

### 1.6 — 2026-07-20

What's new in 1.6:

New
• A fresh look throughout: all five themes with gradient accents, tinted surfaces and subtle glows. In light mode the palettes are now clearly distinct.
• Theme picker with preview cards in Settings.
• Redesigned stacks screen: colorful monogram tiles, ring gauges for CPU/RAM/disk and filter chips (All / Running / Stopped / Update / Archive). Stopped stacks start right from a button.
• Image Watcher: scheduled auto-updates per image (immediate, at a fixed time, or ignore) with a waiting indicator. Dockge itself is never auto-updated.
• Login now supports password managers and iCloud Keychain; 2FA codes are suggested automatically.
• One SSH access can be linked to multiple Dockge instances on the same machine.
• French and Spanish translations.
• Backup: an "Overdue" badge when the last backup is older than the interval.

Improved
• Saved credentials are reused reliably — no more re-login after a brief connection drop or returning from the background.
• Updated in-app links (website, support, privacy).

### 1.5.4 — 2026-06-30

What's new in 1.5.4:

New
• Themes per server: five harmonised colour palettes (Classic Blue, Sunset, Forest, Ocean, Monochrome) selectable per Dockge instance.
• Update indicator in the stack list: on Dockge-Enhanced an orange pill marks every stack with a pending image update.
• Server switching right from the stack overview via a menu in the navigation title.
• docker run → compose converter: paste a »docker run« command when creating a stack to translate it locally into a compose.yaml.
• Multiple Dockge instances per SSH host: one SSH access shared between a publicly exposed and a local-only Dockge instance running on the same machine.
• ISO-8601 timestamps in container logs (Dockge-Enhanced).

Fixed
• Tapping a stack reliably opens the detail view again after a server switch or longer time in the background.
• Sheet reset on server switch: all bindings are consistently cleared.
• Update pill disappears the moment you trigger the update and only comes back when the watcher actually finds a new image.

### 1.5.3 — 2026-06-14

Home-Screen Widget
• See your stacks, CPU/RAM/Disk and pending image updates right on your home or lock screen. The large widget adds trend charts for the past hour. Refreshes in the background — no need to open the app.

Shake to Undo
• Deleted a server or SSH host by accident? Shake your iPhone or tap the toast to restore it within 5 seconds — keychain credentials included. Works for edits too. A success banner confirms when the action was reversed.

Connection Test
• A new »Test connection« button in the add-server screen probes the host with HTTP requests and shows the raw responses in a readable log. Share the log straight to support to diagnose tricky network setups.

Direct Login for New Servers
• Adding a new server now jumps straight into the credentials sheet so you can sign in without an extra tap on »Connect«.

Automatic SSH Linking
• When you add an SSH host, dock-g detects which Dockge server matches the IP and suggests the link. Works the other way too: a new Dockge server picks up matching SSH hosts.

More Apps for Self-Hosters
• New section in Settings showcasing other self-hosting apps from the same developer (gyokuro, Mobile MA, BookStax). The App Store opens right inside dock-g.

Better Translations
• All in-app strings now flow through Apple's String Catalog. The app follows the iOS system language (Settings → dock-g → Language). Cleaner German wording everywhere — status labels, section headers, action buttons.

Polish & Fixes
• Tapping a stack in the list now reliably opens the detail view in one tap. Long-press menus removed. The performance header no longer hides behind the navigation bar. The login button stays readable once you start typing.
