I put about 12 hours into it and made it all the way to level 370, which says a lot about how engaging it can be at its best. The puzzles are fun, progression feels rewarding, and it does a nice job capturing the Doctor Who vibe. Unfortunately, technical issues seriously drag the experience down. At one point, a glitch forced me to replay roughly two hours of content, which was frustrating but manageable. After pushing through and catching back up, the game started freezing on the loading screen for a level. I tried restarting my iPad and even reinstalling the game, but nothing worked. Given that there doesn’t seem to be any fix or ongoing support, it feels like the game has been abandoned. It’s a shame, because there’s a solid game here underneath the problems. Unfortunately, as I got further into the game, it started to glitch. But, only on one activity: the one where you select the right answer from a choice of four. Every time i have to play that activity the games gets stuck on loading. I got past it once, but now I can’t proceed any further. I can play the side games, but that’s it. It is a bit slow and some parts are more challenging than others. I preferred playing without a timer. There are several side missions from the main games so a lot of variance. But eventually, the main game locked up at a loading screen. I see a lot of other reviews with the same issue. So I can’t go any further. I’ve tried everything I can but no luck - has turned out to be a complete waste of time. I emailed support some time ago but no response as yet. Not a good advert for Apple Arcade. I’m playing this on Apple Arcade using a 12.9 3rd Gen iPad Pro fully updated (in case it helps the developers). There are a few issues but the primary one I’m here to report is that the game frequently freezes when choosing the “Face of Boe” option. I’m not absolutely sure but I think I may have just reached a point where my progress has been halted, I’ll try a device restart but things like this are hardly impressive. ### 1/5 — Broken and Abandoned since 2023 *2025-12-16, version 2.0.0* REVIEW UPDATED This game has been STUCK: OCT 2023, APR 2024 & DEC 2025. This game used to be great. Relaxing, creative, and genuinely enjoyable especially the no timer option. Unfortunately, once you reach 400+ levels, Doctor Who: Hidden Mysteries breaks completely, freezing around 25–30% on the loading screen (often during trivia) and never progressing. This issue has been widely reported and has gone unfixed into 2025. Restarting the app doesn’t help. Reinstalling doesn’t help. Support doesn’t help; responses are clearly copy and paste, offering no real updates or timeline. Leaving a known, game-breaking flaw in a title featured on Apple Arcade is unacceptable. If this game is no longer supported, players deserve honesty. If it is supported, then it’s long past time to fix it. It’s been 2 years! What was once relaxing is now just frustrating. Until this is resolved, do not download. I do want to report a bug, however. After I fix the Reality Modulator and discover Kara chasing the Pting, the game locks up.
