FEATURING 800 DOCUMENTS, and AUDIO AND VIDEO, RECORDINGS INCLUDING 90 Supreme Court Decisions, all the US Presidential Inaugural Addresses, State of the Union Addresses, the Constitution, and dozens of key laws, first-hand accounts, and speeches (with 40 Audio/VIDEO Recordings) make this an incredible compilation of primary source documents in American History. Included is a special section with audio excerpts of almost all of FDR's fireside addresses. Each document entry includes an explanation of the significance of the court decision, law, or key points of a speech. Historycentral, Inc. has applied its 25 years of experience writing Multimedia History to the iPad. Documents can be accessed chronologically or often by groups. You can search for a document and save recent or favorites. All of the documents can be e-mailed and thus shared. PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS: AMERICAN DREAMS features 20 audio recording of some of the most famous speeches in American history, including the complete inauguration of President Kennedy. Also included are President Reagan’s words “Mr. Gorbachev- Tear Down the Wall”, as well as excerpts from President Franklin Roosevelt’s first inaugural and President Teddy Roosevelt’s campaign speech. The text of over 90 key Supreme Court decisions, starting with Chisholm v. Georgia in 1793 and ending with the case of the Citizens vs. Federal Electoral Committee in 2010 are presented. Each case has a one-paragraph summary outlining key points and Constitutional issues dealt with in that case. The earliest text in the program is Columbus’ description of his voyage. The newest document is President Trumps State of the Union address, delivered on January 20, 2017. The program also includes all of the Fireside Chat addresses given by President Roosevelt, including an audio recording of his most famous Fireside Chat: On Banking. The major problem I have with this app is whenever I try to open any icon that is located at the very bottom of the screen, the app shuts down. I speak to the editors of the app hoping that they review the situation and improve their app. Great content though:) ### 1/5 — Broken *2014-03-06, version 4.0.1* The amendments are missing. Article 3 sections are called “Articles” Horrible interface. ### 1/5 — Lacks diversity *2012-04-25, version 2.0.1* I had high hopes for this app, but I am disappointed. While I have not gone through all of the documents and speeches, I searched enough names to find a curious lack of diversity. One would think that, from the app title, that Dr. King's most famous speech, at least, would be there. It is not. There is no Black Elk, Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee. There is no Frederick Douglas. There are no women represented. According to this app, only white males said anything worth knowing about. ### 4/5 — Solid App *2011-12-28, version 2.0.1* I give it four stars because I haven't used this app for very long. While looking over it I was very impressed with the amount of documents that this app contains. Also having wonderful videos and audio of important speeches. There will be some some typo's as you look through but nothing too distracting. You can also extract the documents and save them to your iPad. You can also email them as well.
