Hit and miss with pharmacy’s receiving scripts. Now though, whatever they have done, I am no longer having that issue, and it is pretty fast, within about 15-30 min. Such a great alternative! Last I checked I still couldn’t prescribe scheduled meds on this app, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars. With our state now requiring no written (paper) scripts, this is an awesome alternative. I believe the last pharmacist I spoke to said it is an E-Fax service, but that may have also changed! Even if a paid version comes available it will be worth it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not for us *2026-08-06, version 6.4.1* We run a non-profit clinic for low-income folks. We don’t have an EHR. DocUpdate looked like a good option, but after prescribing a medication, I have no way to document it in our paper chart other than hand-writing in a note = writing the prescription again. DocUpdate does not have a way to print out the prescription! When I pointed this out to them, they advised me to take a screenshot. But it doesn’t include the patient’s name. When I pointed out the shortcomings of this, I was told that DocUpdate does not integrate with EHRs. If I had an EHR, I wouldn’t be trying DocUpdate. Ridiculous! My advice, if you’re looking for e-prescribing for your paper medical records, look elsewhere. If you have an EHR, use it. For prescribing, I don’t see a reason for DocUpdate to exist, at least in the current version. ### 1/5 — Dont do it *2026-07-23, version 6.3.0* its been a week since i out all my important medical info in this app and i'm still getting a message that im unable to prescribe due to some verification problem. Contacted support 3 times, 2 times rapid response but no resolution. Dont put your sensitive info into this app! ### 1/5 — Can’t prescribe narcotics *2026-07-21, version 6.3.0* I got this app to write narcotic prescriptions that I can’t call in to the pharmacy. This doesn’t seem to have the ability to do that so I see no use for it. I can have my front desk just call in a regular Rx and not have to input all the patient info. ### 1/5 — ID verification not working *2026-06-29, version 6.2.1* I’ve been trying to verify my identity but whenever I click the link to do so, it just glitches and restarts. I just updated it and it still doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Bunch of social media spam *2026-06-24, version 6.2.1* Heavily promoted on social media should be your first clue this is a bunch of spam garbage. Doesn’t use real eprescribe it uses some automated call in system that usually doesn’t work. Gives errors for most reputable pharmacies. To be clear it doesn’t work at all, just gives errors to send to any pharmacy. ### 1/5 — Cannot send narcotic prescriptions *2026-05-26, version 6.2.0* What’s the use of the app if it cannot send narcotic prescriptions ### 1/5 — Would like *2026-05-20, version 6.1.2* Not available for healthcare professionals and providers is a downfall. Doctors and mids are not the only who can benefit from not having to wait for the 3rd party translator. Field providers and critical care transport don't have the luxury of 3rd party translators ### 1/5 — Very invasive *2026-03-05, version 5.2.0* The verification process is way too invasive and the biometric data it asks for will undoubtedly get hacked and cause a nightmare. ### 1/5 — Can’t register *2026-02-08, version 5.2.0* Took my info including ID verification. Said all I had to do was sign a form. But the screen never changed to the form just an endless loop that kept saying the same thing. Eventually I quit the app. Now when I try to log in I just get an error message. And if I try to restart registration I also get an error message. I guess I just verified my identity with a scan of my ID and face for nothing. Good thing my credit is frozen. ### 1/5 — Can’t even sign up! *2026-01-20, version 5.0.3* Their identity verification process for the doctor to sign up absolutely does NOT work. Despite reaching out to support several times and explaining the exact issue, they just send me a copy paste bot response and send me the same link to the same identity verification form over and over again and it continues to not work. I understand there are technical issues, but their support does not help at all.
