## What is DocUpick?

DocUpick is a fast, local-first document scanner for turning real-world text into useful notes.

Scan receipts, labels, invoices, business cards, whiteboards, forms, printed pages, research notes, and package labels. DocUpick reads the image on device, creates an editable note, keeps the original scan attached, and helps you organize the result with folders, tags, document types, search, filters, and exports.

Version 2.1 adds Review Queue in Insights. It scans your local library for documents that may need cleanup before export or long-term storage: untitled notes, scans with no recognized text, unfiled documents, missing tags, upcoming expiry dates, and pages that may need review. It is a practical checklist for keeping a scanned-document library useful after capture.

Review Queue is now available in Insights. It highlights scans that may need cleanup, including untitled notes, missing OCR text, unfiled documents, missing tags, upcoming expiry dates, and pages that may need review.

This update also refreshes App Store screenshots, support copy, and review metadata for the current DocUpick interface.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-06-24

This update sharpens the interface: the iPad layout now uses a centered, comfortable reading width instead of stretching edge to edge, and a couple of stat labels that wrapped are now single-line. iPhone is unchanged; still fully on-device.

DocUpick 2.0 — a pro upgrade for scan, find, and export, still 100% offline.

• Scan enhancement filters: Document de-shadow, high-contrast B&W (Otsu), grayscale, and color, with live preview per page.
• Positioned searchable PDF: an invisible OCR text layer aligned to every word, so your PDF is truly selectable and findable.
• QR & barcode capture during a scan, classified (URL, email, phone, Wi-Fi, and more) with tap-to-act.
• Smart filename templates from date, title, doc type, merchant, total, and page count.
• PDF export options: page size, compression, and a diagonal or footer watermark (Confidential, Draft, Paid…).
• Page operations: rotate, drag-to-reorder, and re-edit filters — all non-destructive.

No account, no network — every scan stays on your device.

Introducing on-device full-text search — find any document by the text inside it (even scanned pages), with ranked results and highlighted match snippets. Plus Share-as-Contact for business cards, receipt field extraction, and a full accessibility pass. Nothing leaves your device.

What's New in Version 1.2

Document expiry dates and reminders — Set an expiry date on any note — useful for warranty cards, passports, insurance policies, contracts, or receipts with return windows. DocUpick sends a local notification on your device 3 days before and again on the expiry date. No account or internet required. Expiring notes appear in a new "Expiring Soon" filter and on the Insights tab.

Merge notes — Select one or more other notes and merge their pages into the current note. Use this when a multi-page document was scanned as separate notes. Source notes are deleted after the merge. Available from the note's action menu.

Text-only PDF export (fixed) — "Share text as PDF" now correctly paginates across multiple pages. Long documents that previously got cut off now flow across as many pages as needed.
