After you play it a few times you start to notice a pattern. This would be a five star game if each level was new every time. ### 4/5 — Good game! Worth getting! FUN! However (constructive criticism) I get a bit tired of having to 'restart from scratch' every time the game ends (because I ran out of lives). Yes, I realize that this is the game's basic format, but it is pretty boring to have to go back through all the 'baby levels' just to get back to the more challenging ones you actually want to face! You might get more long-term users if you came up with a way to deal with this issue - some of us just want to play challenging levels, and are not as concerned by our overall score. Thanks for the game, though, and keep up the good work!! Update: find it irritating and kind of creepy that the game won't come up and run unless you have the wifi on. I recently rediscovered Dodge Dots, and it's even better than I remember it to be. I don't recall the Community aspect, but that part is a lot of fun, and I love trying to improve my rank on the leaderboard. It's also great that the game changes each week so you get to start out fresh. You guys have thought of everything. I may never be the most skilled at this game, but it's a blast trying to improve. Total addiction!!! It's hard to put it down, and when I get the hook, I just have to try again. The game is mesmerizing, and each level gets harder and harder. I also like how the scoring is different on the iPad. You get 2 chances if you have an iPad and an iPhone I have come to the conclusion that the best games in the App Store are those that concentrate more on the gameplay and concept, and less on having the fanciest, largest game around. My favorite games are the simplest, and most elegant, like DropZap, Shibuya, etc Dodge Dots tops the list. Thanks guys. You can tell you care about your product and customers!!! ### 5/5 — Love this. All of a sudden, it’s telling me I do not have Internet connection. When in fact, I am at home on my home Wi-Fi with five bars showing on my screen. Tried to go to app support, and I got a 404 error, page not found. There are a lot of us out here who do not want to "sign up" or "register" at any website in order to play a game. This is very disappointing indeed. I just bought an app that won't let me play unless i am doing so wirelessly. I did finally get to play, and it was fun, but i won't be playing again because I never leave my device open to wifi unless i am downloading something that requires it. I really hope you devs can fix this issue and just let the rest of us non wifi'ers to play. I am sure to raise the star rating to 5 stars if you were to do so because i only played the game for 5 minutes and i dug it quite a lot. The problem arises when its "game over". This occurs every few games, but I've not been able to play the game for more than 10 minutes without this error occuring. The game 'hangs' and gets stuck trying to save. That's the end of the fun. Closing the game and restarting it doesn't work, The 'saving' window reappears again and you can't restart the game. I've tried to uninstall then reinstall the game, it doesn't fix the problem. I run a normal iPad2 latest OS update so there should be no reason why the program hangs... I suspect it's something to do with saving game scores, but I don't really even care about that. I just want to play the game. It's unfair. I'll lock my phone or hit the home button and I'll go back to the game and the whole screen is black exept for the green bar at the top. The time still counts and u can't see the circles or colored stipes. If u hit the screen u could b hitting a circle and die!!!! I was on level 35 with 1 life 50% and died because of it. Makes you lose points and lives right at startup of a level. Took me 2 minutes to be completely annoyed. Good concept, but not very well applied.... ### 2/5 — Once Again... *2010-08-21* ... my brutally honest review of a game with great potential. This is a fun little game, but it is annoying. VERY annoying. As in it isn't just hard. It's glitchy, unresponsive, and repetitive. Earning points gets you nothing except a spot on the leader-board... Except that there is no way you can beat anyone's scores. Also, the animation is boring. Make it look like they are blobs, with real physics, and possibly add the option of different modes of play, like having to mix colors to create purple and orange. Things like this could increase the replay value. I see that you have lives in the game... But you cannot gain more. And possibly add a level progression, as this would be a nice reason to sign up besides getting rid of the ultra-annoying "nag message" that appears every time you finish a game without logging in first. All in all, it's an okay mini game. Can't survive as a full game until you update it, fix the bugs, add new modes, and a reason to log in. A simple little game- why would I care in the slightest what others are scoring? The game takes ages to start if no Internet connection available- why should my inability to connect to a community of other players that I don't care about, detrimentally influence my playing experience? It isn't like the game is multiplayer. I'd keep the game to play, except that even starting it costs me money through the pointless Internet connection. On an iPod Touch 2nd gen. Anyways I was clearing out apps on my iPhone XS (we’ve come so far) and this one was still, somehow, working. It hasn’t updated in four years. There’s some visual glitches, spacing weirdness, but nothing gamebreaking. There’s a handful of people still topping the leaderboard every week. I fully expected it to break on contact. But it’s fine?? It still works??? I am highly impressed. Creators, if you see this, can you push an update just to keep this thing functional the next time Apple radically changes its firmware? ### 5/5 — DodgeDot - Best Game Ever !! *2017-09-09, version 1.8.5* Love DodgeDot !! I've been playing weekly for nearly 8 years since it's creation. It's still the BEST GAME EVER !! Give it a try and then then keep trying. The levels increase in difficulty to keep you on your toes. There's is a definite strategy to this to keep you engaged. Each week is its own mini tournament of sorts against everyone.
