### 5/5 — lifesaver❤️

*2024-09-27, version 2.3.1*

i psychically couldn’t watch films with illness in it because of my emetophobia - this app helps me skip the parts I can’t watch. It’s so useful and I couldn’t be without it; if you have a fear get this app immediately

### 5/5 — Essential

*2024-09-10, version 2.3.1*

This app is literally the only reason I can watch movies without extreme stress. The second I see an animal on screen I pull up this app and it has saved me from hundreds of horrific images that would have otherwise haunted me. I find the interface easy to use - immediately seeing a red yes or a green no is so helpful. I especially love the feature to pin your triggers since there’s soooo many on it, so seeing it all at the top is great.

### 5/5 — Genuinely helpful and one of my favourite apps

*2024-08-08, version 2.3.1*

Love this app/website and use it often as I have complex PTSD, DID and photosensitive seizures and the warnings really help. Have been using for years. I only wish that instead of having a page of the most common movies’ poster art (which often feature nudity or things that are huge triggers for me that I don’t want to see on the unavoidable front page) I wish you could have a section where it shows the media’s you’ve recently added to or searched as if I’m watching a show over the span of multiple days I often have to open the app and then search and then try to find the exact one I’m looking for. I also wish people would stop clicking “no” for things that are in the media like often there is flashing but it’s listed as a no which is frustrating. I also wish people put timestamps for flashing more as those are so helpful and I’m often not able to risk my safety to document them. I also wish you could share a specific media’s DTDD page, maybe if they put a share option next to the report button as I have to close the app, search on the website and then find the right one to share with friends. I hope they add more sections in the future too. I’ve also had a bug where I cannot report duplicate media or report anything without it saying “network error”. I’ve also noticed sometimes I’ll search for the trigger and it won’t show up despite me using the same words that are in the question or trigger name

### 5/5 — never been so happy with a recommendation

*2024-06-19, version 2.3.1*

someone in a tiktok comments section suggested this for someone else, but i’ve been trying to figure out a way to find out if i can watch a movie/tv show, with my trauma of body parts and specifically heads being crushed which isn’t really something you can google obviously but this just works perfectly!! also my sister is emetophobic and this is better than a reddit list of approved movies

### 5/5 — Life changing

*2024-01-14, version 2.3.1*

I love movies but everytime there was sickness it would spoil the whole thing! Leading to panic attacks and ruining the whole day! Now i can watch movies happily, knowing when to skip, what to avoid etc! I’m so much happier and it’s all thanks to this app. I think the shock of not knowing it’s going to happen or the unexpected nature of the sickness in the movies without the app really made me panic. But now i watch without anxiety! Get this app if you experience anything related to triggers!! I recommend to everyone I know!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

### 5/5 — No more trauma triggering!!!

*2023-10-28*

As a victim of sexual assault, I can’t say enough how much this app means to me. I love horror movies and thrillers and dramas, but the amount of content that includes graphic r*pe scenes is absurd! (Outlander, I’m looking at you.) Thank you for allowing me a place to conveniently and easily find out if a movie or show is going to trigger my trauma. There have been MULTIPLE times I intended on watching something but found out from this site that it would actually be triggering and painful for me to watch (without having to spoil anything if it ended up being safe to watch). Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

### 5/5 — amazing and reliable

*2023-08-22, version 2.2.4*

DDD has been a LIFESAVER when watching movies and shows, like a lot of these reviews i have emetophobia so it comes in so handy as it allows me to check (without spoiling) if it happens and when. you can also set up an account and specify which things you’d like to check before watching a show or movie which is soooo good. 10/10

### 5/5 — An essential modern day service

*2023-07-04, version 2.2.3*

What a fabulous idea and such a thoughtful app.
We’ll done to all involved.

### 5/5 — Love!

*2023-04-19, version 2.0.0*

I LOVE this app! I have one very specific trigger and this has saved me many anxiety attacks. I wish more people knew about this app, it’s is an absolute life saver.

### 5/5 — Best money I’ve ever spent

*2023-04-13*

I use this app for every movie or series I’m going to watch. I love animals and have a very hard time watching them hurt or killed on screen. This app helps prepare me for/or avoid anything I’m not ready for. I’m so glad this app exists. Thank you to the developers for making cry babies like me able to comfortably watch shows again. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

### 5/5 — CPTSD Lifesaver

*2023-03-24*

This app is so amazing. I have complex post traumatic stress disorder, and a whole lot of triggers. I also have an love for dark shows/movies/media. This app lets me make really great choices about what to watch. If I decide to watch a show with a triggering scene there usually is time stamps of when it takes place so I can just fast forward through them. This app truly improves my life so so much.

### 5/5 — App is great

*2023-03-08, version 2.0.0*

Well organized and simple to navigate. Perfect for quickly getting information while watching something

### 4/5 — Pretty functional, I do have this complaint tho…

*2023-03-07*

Even though I’m not sure what the point of the app is when the website works okay in mobile, in the past couple weeks it’s become increasingly UNBEARABLE on mobile with several annoying including some that block important buttons when adding a comment

### 5/5 — So useful

*2023-02-18, version 2.0.0*

Absolute life saver, I have emetophobia and makes watching films so much easier and less stressful

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Triggered from movie listening images

*2024-05-05, version 2.3.1*

Looks like a great idea! Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past the awful gruesome and horrific movie promo images on the first page of the app!!! Highly recommend trying the website version to avoid the obnoxious and poorly considered front page imagery. I mean, really, it’s a complete conflict of interest!

### 1/5 — Such a shame

*2023-03-08, version 2.0.0*

This was such a great service. Now the website doesn’t load, and neither does the app. RIP.

### 1/5 — Won’t load

*2023-02-16, version 2.0.0*

The app won’t load. Please fix this.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2022-12-01, version 2.0.0*

I was so excited to use the app because I love the idea behind it but it’s down and doesn’t work. It keeps loading and loading forever and then nothing.

### 1/5 — Was great while it worked

*2022-11-30*

Unfortunately, this app stopped loading for me overnight. I was upvoting trigger requests and reporting joke/offensive ones. Went to sleep, woke up, and now the app hangs. iOS 15.5, iPhone 13 Pro Max. The only option would be to delete the app, but I want my local triggers and upvotes saved (no account), so...I would prefer not to. I tried offloading & re-installing, no luck (which makes sense. It seems like the issue might be with the app attempting to read my user data. Some of the data is from years ago). I didn't want to leave a negative review, but I couldn't find a bug report form on the website. There's probably a way to report bugs through the app itself, but, if it hangs while starting up...yeah, can't get there. Will update to five stars if I can use the app again.

**Developer response:** Sorry you're having trouble with the app. A new version of the app is coming with a better sign in method. Would you be interested in helping me beta test it? If so, please contact me at support@doesthedogdie.com.

### 2/5 — Started off very useful

*2023-09-17, version 2.2.4*

But has devolved into a kind of diary of fringe political views. Some of the “triggers” are getting ridiculous. For example, any depiction of the police “could be triggering, particularly to black and LGBTQ people…”

No thanks. The utility of the app has been taken over by the same societal madness as everything else.

### 2/5 — App Quit Working

*2022-10-29, version 2.0.0*

This is a great app, but it quit working when it was updated and Pro was added two months ago.

### 3/5 — Worked great…until…

*2024-12-05, version 2.3.1*

… I upgraded my phone. Now it won’t load. I’m sad. This was one of my most useful apps.

### 3/5 — Great app but just too many triggers for animals

*2023-08-16, version 2.2.4*

I love knowing what to expect in a movie (or what movie to avoid) but do we need a category for dogs, then animals, and specific categories for horse, rabbit, cat, DRAGON? is this so common dragons need their own category ?

It just dilutes where information is found and i see that a lot of comments are in mixed up categories (eg horse dies, it’s checked “no” but if you read in the “does an animal die?” Category it’s there that a horse dies at x.)

### 4/5 — no misogyny trigger?

*2023-06-24, version 2.1.3*

this app has been a lifesaver for me but my only complaint is there’s no misogyny triggers. most films are full of misogyny but the only sexism trigger is about men and there’s nothing about hate/violence against women in the prejudice triggers either. like i said there’s so much hatred towards women in movies and i think that an app like this should have it listed as a trigger so women can watch films without being reminded of the discrimination we face.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2026-06-09, version 2.3.1*

I usually dont give apps a rating but this one helped me so much with my fear of emetophobia in movies and i find myself using this app heavily useful

### 5/5 — thank you

*2026-01-16, version 2.3.1*

really helpful resource for anyone with any severe triggers or anxiety. i've been using the website/app for a few years now and it's been really helpful on my journey w my phobia :) thank you for creating this database

### 5/5 — This app is amazing!!!

*2026-01-06, version 2.3.1*

I have severe emetaphobia (fear of v*mit) and this app helps me so much. I also love how it has a huge variety of organized triggers, not just basic ones. Love you DDD!

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2025-12-18, version 2.3.1*

So helpful for my emetophobia

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2025-08-15*

I’m so grateful for this app. My anxiety is so easily triggered by animals in movies and this app is a great tool to avoid unnecessary stress. I love how it doesn’t just cover animals. It covers a wide variety of things that might trigger people and if it doesn’t specifically cover what triggers you, you can request an addition. I love this app. Thank you so much developers and keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Much obliged

*2025-06-27*

Difficult to even read about it at times (although you have to click on the comment to read details beyond a yes or no to a question), saves me so much heart ache. Thank you for the geniuses whom came up with the concept website turned app and all those whom contribute on a daily basis. I’m too darn sensitive when it comes to animals.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-06-25, version 2.3.1*

As someone who loves animals dearly, this app saves me so much grief. I also recommend it to my brother's girlfriend who is a therapist. I told her it may be something to share with her clients because of all the hundreds of triggers it contains. Great app!

### 5/5 — Essential app

*2025-05-05, version 2.3.1*

I won’t watch a movie before I look it up on DDD. I’m extremely sensitive to animals in distress and I lost my mom to suicide, so now I try to avoid movies that depict it. Mostly I want to know I won’t see an animal harmed, but the variety of triggers this app/website addresses is so helpful for everyone.

### 5/5 — lifesaver❤️

*2025-04-26, version 2.3.1*

i physically couldn’t watch films with illness in it because of my emetophobia - this app helps me skip the parts I can’t watch. It’s so useful and I couldn’t be without it; if you have a fear get this app immediately

### 5/5 — Perfect for spooky season

*2024-10-12, version 2.3.1*

I’m able to watch movies with my friends and can avoid being triggered. I particularly like the comments option so you can learn the details of the trigger if you need the spoiler. Thank you!
